On Saturday the 10th of February, Finland, Italy and Latvia chose their Eurovision 2024 songs. That takes us to a total of 13 confirmed entries for Malmö. Ireland’s Bambie Thug has held the top spot for our past two polls with their entry “Doomsday Blue”. Can anyone knock them off the top spot? That’s for you to decide. Once again it’s time to answer the question: What is your favourite Eurovision 2024 song so far?
Poll: Which Eurovision 2024 song is your favourite so far?
This weekend gave us three very different entries.
🇫🇮 Finland: Windows95man with “No Rules”
In Finland, the televoters used their power — 75% of the overall vote — to rip the trophy away from the jury’s favourite Sara Siipola. They instead handed it to Windows95man, whose humorous entry “No Rules” danced to its own beat. Part Weird Al Yankovic, part hot mess and totally eye-catching, the dance number stormed to the top, leaving Finland lol’ing all the way. Will Europe get the joke?
🇮🇹 Italy: Angelina Mango with “La noia”
For the first time since 1964, a solo female artist has won Sanremo and will take her winning song to Eurovision. The last time that happened Gigliola Cinquette won the entire competition. The possibility of that happening again rests with Angelina Mango, whose infectious song “La noia” was a fan favourite. It beat off stiff competition — including from the televoters’ favourite Geolier. In the end it was the juries who made sure Angelina got through.
🇱🇻 Latvia: Dons with “Hollow”
He was the bridesmaid in Latvia’s national selection twice in the past. But now Dons is finally having his moment. The “Hollow” singer took his soulful number to the top of the Supernova scoreboard, giving fans hope that Latvia will finally return to the final at Eurovision — for the first time since 2016. He’s got the voice. He’s got the song. But will he have Europe’s support? We certainly hope so.
So who did you vote for? Who is emerging as a jury favourite and televote favourite in your mind? Let us know down below…
Honestly Ireland is so good and has a winning chance
Italy and Norway are both absolutely wow
I’m not getting why Norway is so highly rated, while I don’t hate it it reminds me a bit of Alvan and Ahez from France a few years ago, a lot of wailing and not a lot of substance. If they decide to change to English it will lose much of it’s charm.
You mean if they wail in english? Well, Gåte will for certain sing in norwegian, as they’ve always done.
Slovenia 11/12
Italy 10/12
Norway 9,5/12
France 9/12
Ireland 8/12
Luxembourg 7,5/12
Latvia 7/12
Ukraine 6,5/12
Spain 5/12
Czechia 4/12
Malta 3,5/12
Albania 2/12
Finland 1/12
Norway entry has the Wow factor!
Still in my 1 place. I like Ukraine as well.
I´m a little disappointed about the Ukraine this year but it´s surely a contender
Tali has to change the outfit and so much dancers are not necessary for this decent song.
Norway really could be a big surprise in May. Especially for the spectators who watch this performance for the first time
relax people. Let us have a couple fun entries. esc is 95% generic pop and the juries always make sure one of your favorites win. What do you have to complain about?!
I stand with what I said: Italy could send a guy farting and still be esc favourite. Overrated is not a strong enough word to explain what Itlay is at esc. Mid song, good singer, mid staging…
For the moment the only one with a farting brain is you.
Time to change your diapers!!!
For me:
Creative: Ireland – day/night/dusk/chaotic emotions expressed over a period of time much like life
Culture: Norway – a musical retelling of a local fable in their own language
Fun: Finland – best performance of the night at UMK and such fun
Result: depends who’s voting and what they’re drawn too and their mood on the night in question; and their live performance ‘on that night’.
#bekind… Find a way to express yourself without trashing people. Example above!
I’m from Italy so I won’t vote for my country.
My top 3 so far Is:
1- Norway (wow!)
2- Ukraine (Ukraine is so strong as usual)
3- Slovenia (In my opinion best slovenian result is happening)
And really thank you for all the love to Angelina’s song!
Alright, I’ve made a drastical change in my top. *My TOP 13 of the “Eurovision Song Contest 2024” entries (updated):* 1. Ireland – “Doomsday Blue” (10/10) (+1) 2. Italy – “La Noia” (10/10) 3. Spain – “Zorra” (9.5/10) (-0.5) 4. Ukraine – “Teresa & Maria” (9.5/10) 5. Norway – “Ulveham” (8.5/10) (-0.5) 6. Slovenia – “Veronika” (8.5/10) 7. Latvia – “Hollow” (8.5/10) (+0.5) 8. France – “Mon Amour” (7/10) (+0.5) 9. Malta – “Loop” (6/10) (-0.5) 10. Czechia – “Pedestral” (6/10) 11. Luxembourg – “Fighter” (6/10) 12. Albania – “Zemrën N’dorë” (5/10) 13. Finland – “No Rules” (1.5/10) *(Some countries… Read more »
Thank you for the last place for this finnish awful crap
Lasts week’s bunch all went to the top of my ranking, which is very promising. But France remains my number 1.
For me, Finland, with a revamp of the staging, could do really really really well… Like even top 10… This kind of sound is quite popular, ! If they keep the ‘ridcouls/joke/unserious’ elements of the staging, it woud however struggle to be so high, but I think it would nonetheless qualify (Croatia last year did it with something WAYYYY WORST in a better year)
Let 3 was not just a weird joke entry, it had a political message.
Weird joke entries can have a political message too. It is not bad to be weird or a joke. People love weird and joke.
Comparing Finland 2024 and Croatia 2023 is silly. There is a difference between satirical song and pure trolling (Finland 2024). If you do a joke, at least do it well as Käärijä did it last year. No Rules is just bizzare
I would also add that satire is much more enjoyed in South and East Europe than the dry physical comedy that people in Nordic countries, or UK and Ireland seem to like. That’s why you get songs like “Mama S?” or “Euro Neuro” from the Balkans, when North Europe sends the likes of Dustin the Turkey and “Leto Svet”.
I just don’t get how France is so low 😮
I would say beacuse it is not bringining anything new… its exactely what people would expect from France. A great vocal and emotion, but French is much les spoken than English, so people do not even understand lyrics….
I don’t think it being in French is the problem (it would be even more boring in English tbh) given that 4 of the top 5 voted songs have no/few English lyrics.
I agree… but what I meant is that even if lyrics are great most people don’t get it, including me. My point was that apart from nice vocals it’s not offering much more
I agree! France is nice and I appreciate hate the vocal but it’s not a song I would vote for. There are more interesting, intriguing, addictive entries that would get my vote. I feel as more ballads are released, it could be forgettable. I actually prefer Latvia’s entry to the French entry in terms of ballads.
Do you remember Voiá ? It got a lot of points ….
Geolier is an absolute fraud and a disgrace, thankfully justice prevailed in the end over artificial senseless voting.
Windows95man might not have been the hot favourite to win by fans, but I don’t see reason to disrespect them with hateful messages and notorious downvoting on Eurovisionworld.
We’ve seen these situations before:
UMK20: Aksel vs Erika Vikman
Mello20: Dotter vs The Mamas
UMK22: Bess vs The Rasmus
MGP21: KeiiNo vs Tix
Are we truly making this contest more likeable, if us (fans) just throw hate on artists if they weren’t our favourite for the win? Feels like this happens more often than we think.
It’s shameful. People are just extracting all the joy ESC is supposed to instil.
Is X down… Can’t the haters live there instead 🙂
Fans never learn. It’s okay to feel disappointed when your favorite doesn’t win, but you can’t throw a toxic tantrum every time.
Top 5 (will change)
1. NORWAY
2. MALTA
3. ITALY
4. LUXEMBOURG
5. CZECHIA
“No rules” is it supposed to be funny or pleasant? On my side I will never understand the Finnish televote…they wanted to surf on the Käärjä vibes? Sara Siipola was for me the better choice and in matter of taste “paskana” is a real masterpiece..it is just pure perfection…again for me. Finland is now in my bottom and will remain…the same I do no unterstand when Erika Vikman finished second with “Cicciolina” 4 years ago. Sorry…it is not kind from me…but I do not wish to see/hear “No rules” in the Grand Final…but I fear that with the 100% televote… Read more »
I will never understand why Ireland is so popular. It isn’t art, it isn’t a song, it’s pure garbage!! What is wrong with Europe
It’s good and it’s something new and it’s dark the voice is good the costumes . It’s amazing and it’s not garbege . Italy and Finland is garbege
Yes, its new. But its not good. I hope Irland not go to the final. This is crap
Art creates a strong reaction. It’s created a strong reaction with you. Thus art is born. Thank you for participating in the art
Last year there was a song from Poland, that also created a strong reaction in me – but no art was born…
I wouldn’t say garbage, but I have to admit this song didn’t clicked on me at all. I don’t think she has good vocals, at least from what I’ve seen in the only live performance we got so far. I don’t even like the melody of the song, I find it chaotic and difficult to listen to. But, hey, I wish Ireland to qualify this year, they’re taking a risk and I wish this will be rewarded.
Hope Ireland , Slovenia , Luxembourg and Norway to qualify
Me too !
None! Sorry not sorry…
1. Ukraine
2. Latvia
3. Italy
Hope Finland will not qualify
Maybe they will, but the juries will kill it in the final.. dont worry…
With the reception it’s getting, I think there’s at least a chance it doesn’t make it to the final
Israel and Ukraine to
Ireland Ukraine and Israel will qualify
Lol get ready for Finland to receive 200pts televote in May. (And 2pts from the jury)
Hmmm.. no…not at all…
I think they are a sure NQ
They will q and get low points in the final.
100% televote = 100% Q for Finland.
For that to happen it has to be liked by people and I don’t see that
You’re overestimating the locals. If people have massively voted for Trenuletul or similar songs in the past, expect Finland to be a televote magnet.
Not really. First of all Finland is no Moldova, in terms of televoting potential. And secondly you underestimate the cultural element. Songs like “Trenuletul” can travel (pun intended) very well in South and East Europe. The Nordic dry sense of humour of “No rules” will very likely fall flat in most countries south of the Baltic and North Sea. This could very well become the “Leto Svet” of 2024.
Oh my god! You’re saying there’s some “humor” somewhere in this song? I’m gonna have to rewatch the full performance…
The televote audience for the semis is also different from the final’s televote audience. In the final it is more random as you are getting people just tuning in for the final and would vote for a novelty act. I feel the televoters in the semi are generally Eurovision fans and the likelihood is that they will be familiar with Finland before the semi and the shine will have worn off by then.
That is also true. Of course it’s a 15 song semifinal so any song has more chances to qualify rather than not, but if we also take into account that it’s a strong semi and Finland doesn’t have many friendly countries it’s a real possibility that they will fail to qualify (although I’m preparing myself for the opposite).
Latvia 100%
Finland is currently 6th in the poll. So I guess it isn’t hated by Everyone?
No, a lot of people enjoy it!
It’s the best song this far!!!
no, there are many people who love him!
Wiwibloggs: Which song is your favourite so far?
Me looking at Finland: YOU!
Bruh
Czechia seems to be overlooked, I love it, plus Norway, Spain and Ireland
Wiwibloggs: Which song is your favourite so far?
Me looking at Finland: Not you.
Italy of course! The only “real” song so far, nothing to do with the rest half-amateurish songs that sound as they were written by students of music academies.
In May this song will be already a big international hit.
Keep the faith, if your way to promote your beloved Italy with a really basic pop song is to spit on the others for free so be proud. The only one “real” lol as if the others were fake. San Remo stans shouldn’t be that pretentious it’s very ugly.
1_Spain
2_France
3-Ucrania
I really hope Croatia and Rim Tim Tagi Dim can break the Ukraine Italy Sweden bias.
Just let’s celebrate something different winning instead of the same three countries all the time. There is a slight bias within this generation as there was in the 80/90s with the UK and Ireland.
Croatia are too poor, they can’t host ESC
So what you are saying is only countries with money are allowed to win? Rigged fixed?
no, but the ones with money can organize best of the best contests tbh
should Croatia win, we’d likely go back to basics ESC, similar to back in 80s 90s, no expensive interval acts, no expensive opening ceremony
i like poorer nations tbh, like Moldova, despite debts Bosnia (i superstan zeljko samardzic)
i built a reputation on here i know, i’m not solely a negative person, just stating facts
But in this case you did not state facts, you stated your personal (degrading) opinion about a country you probably never even been to.
You just insulted some artists and some entire countries so no it’s not just stating facts, we will remember
Dont you worry, if Croatia wins they will make a great show 😉
Last year they weren’t even in their capital city for Dora and their stage and lighting was pretty cool for a NF
Correct, most of Dora editions were in Opatija, but this year it will be moved to Zagreb.
This kind of ignorant comments just make me mad. ESC was held in Ukraine in 2017 which has way lower GDP than Croatia, Portugal in 2018 with slightly higer GDP, and then Israel in 2019 with GDP about 20% higher than Croatia. They are all far from super rich countries, but with your logic none of them shoul have hosted….
They have great arena, they can pull it off.
Serbia and Greece successfully hosted Eurovision Song Contest, why can’t Croatia do it?
How about 5miinust and Puuluup from Estonia? I think everybody’s sleeping on them, they mix hip hop and Baltic folk masterfully and it’s not in English, which is a plus.
Great song staging was a little poor though at national final
I reckon Estonia have got a chance with them, both with the televote and with the juries!
I love these guys too.
Tbf, Italy and Ukraine do have really good songs this year…
…But Tim Tim Tagi Dim performed well live will definitely destroy all the other songs!!
I’m with you there. If he nails the staging he wins the televote. It’s wether the juries go full love in on Italy Ukraine and Sweden as usual
Wait huh win?
Wait is there actually discussion around that song winning?
Italy excellent
Latvia good
Finland awful
I like all three!
Norway, Italy and Spain are the songs I’m listening to the most right now.
Ukraine is good too but I think its position at the top of the odds is incredibly overrated.
Best of luck Bambi
I like Bambi too…
La Noia And Ulveham Are Both Potential Eurovision Winners!
Ulveham for sure!
The song is a bit boring without the visuals:/
I wanna live in a world thinking Gåte will do like Maneskin with jury and not like KEiiNO, I am worried Norway could be low with jury again
Italy but not Norway
“For the first time since 1964, a solo female artist has won Sanremo” – where did you get those stats from? Arisa won in 2014 and Emma did in 2012. Those are the most recent 2, but there were more female winners between 1964 and 2012 (Alexia, Elisa, Anna Oxa, etc etc).
Yeah… but NONE of those went on to represent Italy with their Sanremo-winning song! That’s the point. Not since 1964 has this happened.
I can see how the sentence in question might be misleading, though…
completely misleading a lot of women went to eurovision sent by sanremo.
Oh I see… You mean they took the song to Eurovision as well
That’s crazy stats! I never thought about that.
They’re not female anymore. They transitioned to males.
Italian female acts do bad in ESC, I don’t think Angelina will break the “tradition”, her song is nothing special! Mahmood could have been top 3-5 in Malmö. So far, the songs are really bad even worse than last year! Swedish Eurovisions are cursed to suck!
At the monent who broke with the tradition about Italy entrance is only yout taste… we will see in may. Tiempo al tiempo
I think Italy will get one of their worse results since their return.
Wow . Its The Worst Year For Eurowision Ever I Cant Beleif This Are Concidered To Be Music … It Is Not Surprise To Me Because Sweden Is In Charge , Only Bad Things Comes From Sweden
Malta Its The Best And Potencial Winner If People AreNot Deaf , And Czech Its Really Great To But Ewery Other Song It Makes Me Want To Jump From A High Place
I will never understand people that enjoy being annoying….
Me neither….
Sweden did not choose the songs for these countries so what are you even talking about. And no, Malta is not a potential winner.
There are a lot of really bad years in the later past: 2016, 2017, 2019. But this year could be very interesting for me.
Still Norway!
#teamGåte
Eurovision fans complaining about domination of 3 countries everywhere (Sweden, Ukraine, Italy) and then they vote hard for them again, literally the most hypocritical existing fandom lol
At this point we’ll never have some other country winning, we’ll just shuffle those three, and some other country to host “on behalf of Ukraine” if Ukraine wins again
Swedeish And Ukraine Only Are Succesful At Eurowision Because Of Corruption And Politik , EweryOne Knows This Fact …
Don’t blame them. They almost always send high-quality music with excellent singers. I’ve had that resentment before, but today I hope they maintain that level and in a few years we won’t regret it like we do with Ireland.
To be fair though Italy and Ukraine brought their A game this year. Not sure what Sweden will do.
LATVIAA is the best so far! ?? Quality, emotion, voice
Italy, Norway and Spain. I also like Ukraine, Ireland and Slovenia. Then there are 6 songs that I find middle of the road and one that I’m banning from my playlists. 🙂
Tho Ive got a new last place since last nite.
1) Ireland
2) Norway
3) Slovenia
the rest is open playing field.
So many 13th places for Finland. Such a pity in view of what was happening last year
Italy, Ukraine and Finland!
Finland is easily my favourite. I also like Ukraine, Spain and Latvia. Italy and Slovenia are OK. The rest I would never listen to
I still can’t hear that winner song or see a performance worth winning. Both Ukraine and Italy are overrated. Especially Italy imo. Great opportunities for countries that still haven’t decided 🙂
Biased ears maybe…
Maybe. Nothing wrong with that..
Roma 2025
