UPDATE: This poll is now closed. See the results here.
After an 11-month hibernation, Melodifestivalen returns this evening with the first semi-final in Gothenburg. At 20:00 CET, as the show opens, you’re going to hear host Sanna Nielsen sing and then you’re gonna hear us scream. But before the fabulous goes into overdrive, we thought it’d be fun to stage a flash poll based on the brief clips we’ve seen so far. We’ll close this poll around 19:00 CET, so you guys have 17 hours to vote. Please vote for the two songs that you would like to see advance to the final. You can only vote ONCE so be sure to click the box next to each act you’re supporting before pressing send.
Also, wiwibloggers Angus, Sami and William have recorded a brief preview below. It includes at least one Eric Saade fanboy. Okay two. And maybe a convert.

ERIC SAADE
Molly Pettersson-Hammar’s my winner, but I usually pick losing songs so I can’t really say she’s going to qualify.
I dislike all of the other songs (props to Dolly Style for weirding me out, though)
but if I had to give a second place it would have to go to Elyze+Rickard.
Rickard is camper than a feather boa wrapped in a rainbow, though–his eye shadow terrifies me. The song is a little too dramatic as well.
But, it’s better than ‘Sting.’
1. Elize & Rickard (I have a feeling that they will be the winners *-*
2. Eric Saade
3. Dolly Style
4. Molly Petterson
5. Jessica Andersson
6. Behrang ft. Victor
8. Daniel Gildenlow
From the poll on SVT’s website: 1) Eric Saade 2) Elize Ryd & Rickard Söderberg 3) Molly Pettersson-Hammar =Behrang Miri feat. Victor Crone =Jessica Andersson 6) Dolly Style 7) Daniel Gildenlöw Eric is far ahead from the rest with 36% while Elize & Rickard are only ahead of the third placers by 4%. Molly, Behrang & Victor, and Jessica are all tied at 12%. Dolly Style is only a bit behind with 9% while Daniel is far in last with only 3%. It seems Eric is a sure qualifier while Daniel is surely out, but the rest could be anyone.… Read more »
Jessica song is for me is similar like Sanna Empty room from MF 2008
On http://www.svt.se/melodifestivalen/ you can hear all song from first semi final in studio version , not all but 2.30 minute of song.
For me to Elize Ryd & Rickard Söderberg and Molly Pettersson Hammar soudn much better live on stage, we can hear snippet of 30 second of rehearsal.
To the final: Dolly Style & Molly
To andra chansen: Jessica & Behrang and Victor
Out: Eric, Elize and Rickard & Daniel
I see the pre-teen Saade fans are out in force on this vote.
Omg i cant believe it “one by one” its the best so far. Sting is very overrated also because he sang in 2011 doesnt means anything popular was better than sting, please sweden vote for one by one
I really want Molly and/or Elize & Rickard to qualify to the final :3
Sting is really a overrated song tbh…
dolly style is the best……
eric is ok.
Dolly Style to the final. From what I’ve heard of ‘Sting’, I feel people will only vote for it because it’s Eric Saade, not because its a good song (it’s not).
One by One has totally stuck in my head. It’s a catchy song with a quirk – an ideal contestant.
What I’d Like:
To the final: Molly & Elize and Rickard
To andra chansen: Behrang and Victor & Daniel
Out: Dolly Style, Jessica, & Eric
What I Expect:
To the final: Eric & Molly (the newcomers effect)
To andra chansen: Elize and Rickard & Behrang and Victor
Out: Dolly Style, Jessica, & Daniel
I think that only Eric Saade will gain a large number of votes in this semi-final. The rest is terribly weak.
For me to final Elize Ryd & Rickard Söderberg and Molly Pettersson Hammar
To second chance Behrang Miri feat. Victor Crone and Eric Saade
I’d love for Dolly Style to go straight to the final!
I’ll wait for the full performances 🙂
Elize Ryd & Rickard Söderberg and dolly style!!!
Sorry that I’m taking up so much space in the comments section, but I had to note how completely Robyn hit the nail on the head when it comes to “Sting.”
“I am Molly I am Holly, I am Polly Hello Hi, I am Molly I am Holly, I am Polly Hello Hi” – I love it! It’s pure poetry!
Sorry – Elize.
I’m totally on board with Molly & Elyze/Rickard.
