While on route to the renowed Balkan award show “Zlatna Bubamara” (Golden Ladybird), FYR Macedonia representative Daniel Kajmakoski had a car accident in Skopje. Despite the car being seriously damaged, Daniel escaped unharmed. Moreover, he went on to pick the award for the best singer at the ceremony.
According to his team’s press release submitted to wiwibloggs, the singer had a lucky escape:
Last night, while being on his way to the renowed Balkan award show “Zlatna Bubamara” (Golden Ladybird), Daniel had a car accident in Skopje. Some elderly lady has lost control over her car and hit Daniel’s. Luckily only his car is completely damaged. Daniel himself is fine. He didn’t want to miss the award show, so after the police finished their paperworks, Daniel rushed to “Zlatna Bubamara”. You can probably call it “compensation”, as attending the show after the accident ended up in receiving the award for the best singer!
News outlet zdravstvo24.mk says that the car in question was the Mini Cooper that the singer received as the X Factor Adria winner. The damage amounts to 100,000 denars (1,600 euro).
According to the press reports, there were no casualties, so the lady who caused the accident is fine as well.
We are relieved to hear that Daniel Kajmakoski was fine after what sounds like a serious crash. Also, congratulations for winning the award for best singer! He most certainly deserves it.
Daniel Kajmakoski will represent FYR of Macedonia in Vienna, after winning the national selection Skopje Fest with “Lisja esenski”.

@Lucy, he also got 10,000 euro cash on top of the Mini Cooper.
Glad that he and the middle aged woman is alright.
Seriously though, glad he (and the lady) are ok.
Ignoring the obvious point in this article, x factor winners there get a mini?! Like, THATS the prize? Please say it actually is 😛
Never mind.
Phew! Wait, what about the lady who lost control of her car?
Anything could have happened…thank god he is okay
After some investigation into the matter, I am glad to report that the lady in question (who is actually 46, so not that old) is fine as well. There were certainly no casualties in the car crash. 🙂
The old lady is apparently OK, do not worry. 🙂
The little old lady’s car is OK but no word on her. That is not a good sign.
my gosh poor Daniel! thank god he is okay… he is my favorite after all for Vienna! he had an angel sitting on his shoulder, hope the old lady is okay though
@Zac good question
What about the old lady? Is she okay?
