It’s been a momentus summer for LGBT rights. In May Ireland legalized same-sex marriage. In June the United States followed suit. And now Eurovision 2000 alum Nicki French has released the new single and EP “This Love” which celebrates LGBT equality.
The lead single gives equality rhythm, bringing themes of love and tolerance to the dance floor. “We can make a vow,” she says. “We can swear it now, change the future from today.” See y’all at the aisle!
The music video shows Nicki sashaying with a brightly coloured scarf and busting a few moves, whilst belting out her ode to empowerment. The video features some of her fans and a few cameos from drag artists.
Nicki, who teamed up with Mike Stock of Stock Aitken and Waterman fame, has also re-worked two of her classics for the EP. You can check out a New Radio Edit Mix of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and Real 2 Reel Mix of “Did You Ever Really Love Me”.
Miss French may have sung “Don’t Play That Song Again” at Eurovision. But we need you to ignore her command. “This Love” deserves to be on repeat.
You can buy the EP here.

“This Love” lyrics — Nicki French
We can make a vow, we can swear it now
Change the future from today
And it’s in our hands, we can make a plan
And honour every word we say
Yes, we’ve got the choice, say it as one voice
Together side by side
With an open heart, never drift apart
Solid as a rock in time
What we say now, we really mean
And like a time machine
We’ll see the whole world crumble,
We’re gonna see the mountains tumble
Before we say goodbye, my love and I …
We’ll see the earth dividing
We’ll see the sun and moon colliding
Before this love would ever die
Only have one dream, we can both believe
And we’re gonna make it through
In the rain and snow, this is our rainbow
Being loved and staying true
What we say now, we really mean
And like a time machine
We’ll see the whole world crumble
We’re gonna see the mountains tumble
Before we say goodbye, my love and I …
We’ll see the earth dividing
We’ll see the sun and moon colliding
Before this love would ever die.
Can Not Wait to see her, Bucks Fizz and Euroband’s Fridrik Omar performing this Saturday at Bristol Pride!

Hmmmm… Dated? Yes! Don’t think she should go back to Eurovision. She had her one shot and blew it. Sorry Nicky but no thanks!
Nothing to do with the messages in the song or the song itself! It’s just not suited to a 2016 audience and it’s not right for Eurovision 2016!
This should have been saved for the UK entry 2016- love the song and, as always, adore Nicky French
I’ve always thought she’d be copying Maroon 5.
