Australia will come up from Down Under for Junior Eurovision 2015 — and they’re bringing Bella Paige with them! The 13-year old, who rose to fame on The Voice Kids of Australia, will sing “My Girls”.
“I couldn’t believe it when I found out I was selected to represent Australia and I’m so excited to be singing my single, My Girls, on a global stage in Bulgaria” Bella said in a statement.
The legendary Delta Goodrem — formerly of Neighbours — has co-written the song.
“I’m so proud to be able to share this special song with Bella for Junior Eurovision. Bella has a phenomenal voice and so much confidence on stage, and I know she is absolutely going to wow Europe with her performance”.
Review: Bella Paige’s “My Girls”
We previously dreamed of Delta singing at Eurovision, so we’re thrilled to see her getting involved.
Australia at Junior Eurovision 2015
Earlier in the year the EBU invited Australia’s Eurovision broadcaster SBS to participate in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Bulgaria. The EBU has been pushing to up the number of participating countries in the kids’ contest. Given Australia’s very successful debut in Vienna, and SBS’s stellar ratings for Eurovision 2015, we weren’t particularly surprised when they confirmed their participation earlier this week.
It’s just the latest step in Australia’s recent Eurovision involvement.
After Jessica Mauboy’s guest appearance in 2014, Australia was officially represented by Guy Sebastian in the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna (you may recall we broke the news two hours before SBS confirmed it, and a lot of you said we were crazy in the comments section). Guy managed an impressive fifth place. Check out some of our Guy Sebastian footage below.
Great song !! I like it a lot !! So far is ‘s one of my favorites together with NL, Slovenia, Belarus
Is it me or does she look like a young version of Sia?
1. Australia
2. Belarus
3. The Netherlands
4. Ukraine
5. Albania
6. Slovenia
7. Russia
Looks fun. Should do well
Another excuse for a Eurovision party.
Quick question; Do we still play the same drinking games as we do for ESC, or do we just have to do it with lemonade this time?
Backing vocals sound an awful lot like Running Scared by Azerbaijan in 2011.
Best song so far!!!! BY FAR
HUELE A CAMPEONA IS A CHAMPION SAMO SHAPIOGNY
I hope she will sing good live. It is like Cyprus 2014, wich came ninght…
My top:
1. Australia
2. Slovenia
3. The Netherlands
4. Ukraine
5. Albania
6. Russia
7. Belarus
Great song … but is she cute enough? (sorry to address the elephant in the room!)
love this song, good luck bella and do australia proud.
Artist was a runner-up, co-writer was one of the coaches, a best song for young girls, AND A VERY TOUGH OPPONENT TO BEAT. Shalisa’s “Million Lights” is no match for her!
GO AUSTRALIA!
YESSS!!
Finally something that’s not pure-slow-traditional ballad.
This COULD win it.
This could totally win. Good luck Bella!
good but i would like to see a stronger winner .. will be interesting to see irelands debut entry .. is it unveiled this weekend ??
8 / 10
This is a good entry. The first time I heard it, it seemed kind of average musically, but after hearing it a few more times, I noticed some really great moments that add depth to the character of the song and work well with positive message of the lyrics.
It seems that the audience will be ravaging over this song – so far only very positive comments about the selection. Nobody can say that inviting Australia is a disappointment.
Maybe Australia will win! <3
I hope Australia will confirm for Eurovision 2016 and Delta Goodrem will be interested to take part <3
I really like this compared to ‘Tonight Again’ – this feels more like a winner but im internally debating where to put this in my top. Guess I’ll have to wait for Georgia’s song
Wow, we really needed something like this this year 😀 Awsome
THIS GIRL IS ON FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRE.
Amazing song, though. Might even win if she’s good live. 😛
Amazing song and singer. Too mature for Junior Eurovision and the best song by far, which is why it’s likely to come in 3rd or 4th…
I like it. My favourite after Slovenia.
