The finishing line of the Eurovision 2017 preview party season is near, with the final stop on the promotional tour ending in Madrid this weekend. With that we are slowly receiving more and more points from the OGAE groups from around Europe for the 2017 OGAE poll.

Today our focus shifts to the clubs based in Hungary and the Czech Republic. With no surprise, Francesco Gabbani continues to strengthen his lead, whilst Belgium’s Blanche has now overtaken Sweden’s Robin Bengtsson in the fight for the silver medal.

OGAE Hungary awarded their twelve points to the “City Lights” of Belgium, with ten points going to Italy and eight points going to Alma from France. Gaining their first set of points for the poll were Dihaj from Azerbaijan and Isaiah from Australia, receiving four and one points respectively.

Next up to the scoring table were OGAE Czech Republic. They awarded their twelve points to Italy, with their ten points going to Belgium’s Blanche, and their eight points going to Koit Toome and Laura from Estonia. Norma John from Finland received their first points from the Czech fan club (two points to be precise). OGAE Czech Republic is the first country not to award a single point to Robin from Sweden. You gotta keep it together, Robin!

Belgium is the best this year. Love her voice. Italy can be top 5, Portugal Bulgaria around 10th place. Romania 15-20, IF they go to the final.

Just for info, last year OGAE voted for France’s Amir to win (425 points), Russia’s Sergey Lazarev second (392), Australia’s Dami Im third (280), Bulgaria’s Poli Genova fourth (175) and Italy’s Francesca Michielin fifth (170 points). Then Spain, Austria, Latvia and actual winner Ukraine 11th.

I feel like OGAE always overrates Italy, since 2011 they’ve been in the top 5 almost every year. I think they’ve missed it twice. I don’t think Italy will win, it’s just this years fanwank. Just like France last year, Estonia 2015 etc. It will definitely be top 10 but it’s not winner material. The only one of their top 5 that I think will be top 5 is Sweden which has potential to win if they keep the staging. The songs that I think that are being underrated atm are Armenia and Portugal, their live performances and songs are… Read more »

Wait, do Hungary have an OGAE club…because in the second chance contest they compete under the banner of “rest of the world”, as they did last year. Unless they set one up recently?

@Hi

no i respect the Czech republic for giving them 7 points with this OGAE poll

i do genuinely hope they can convince you of liking the song, cause of course i want everyone to be happy and positive, and okay not everyone can like it, but even if you think of it as a joke act, just laugh at it then, hating is so wrong 🙂

Estonia is slaying! <3 😀
It has been voted by every ogae club so far! 8/8
Along with Italy & France, they are the only 3 countries
that have been voted by all the ogae clubs so far!
Btw, i had really thought that Belgium & Sweden
would gonna been voted by every ogae club instead..

@ Sal – we can only hope it’ll be like that, I’d love to have Italy winning, Portugal in the top 5, and both Belarus and Hungary (the only other countries not singing in English) in the final. If this is the case, next year will be 2008 all over again with half of the songs in different languages <3

Either way I’m so happy that so many people are appreciating my country (Italy). Here, the Eurovision is still a rather obscure show and not many people care enough for it. If we do win in Ukraine, it’s going to be a huge event for us as the contest would be seen under a different light, and I’d be so proud to win with a song like Occidentali’s Karma (can’t wait to buy Francesco’s CD in two weeks).

The more I think about it the more I think Belgium won’t do as well as predicted next month :/ I love the song but her performances have been a bit meh and I’m not sure it will appeal widely or be remembered.

I hope for an Italy win and top 5 for Portugal so it shows that you don’t need to rely on singing in English to succeed in the competition!

Hungary and Romania ar way too overrated. I’m 100% sure that Hungary won’t get more than 5 points from the Eastern Europe countries in May. As of Romania, I can’t see it appealing to millions of people somehow. Azerbaijan , Austria and Bulgaria are soo underrated

Here, yeah, it’s not overrated. It’s underrated. Bulgaria scored less than Romania’s yodeling and Estonia’s retro fest?… Give me a break.
