Eurovision 2018: EBU reveals jury spokespersons and running order

Starting at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, country spokespersons now only reveal the points from their national — not the combined jury and televote. That segment is followed up with the televote reveal.

It was a move born to make the revelation of the winner more dramatic (In recent years, as with Loreen and Emmelie de Forrest, the winner was already known before voting had finished). The new system has most definitely worked. As you can see in the video below from Kyiv, we were on the edge of our seats until the very final moment of the points reveal last year.

In any case, here is the order in which the country spokespersons will reveal the jury points. You might recognise some names as former Eurovision contestants, national finalists, and TV presenters.

Among the big names are former Westlife member Nicky Byrne (Ireland), Eurovision 2009 co-host Alsou (Russia) and Eurovision alums Jana Burceska (Macedonia), Tako Gachechiladze (Georgia), Naviband (Belarus), OG3NE (The Netherlands) and JOWST and Aleksander (Norway) and Hovig (Cyprus).

Before you start analysing to see who will get what points based off regional voting blocks, although this was revealed today, the running order had been set for some weeks now. So it’s hard to predict any sort of pattern based on what would create an exciting show and make the race look tight.

After the jury votes are delivered by the national spokespersons, the results of the televote will be revealed by the presenters from least points to highest points. After the final tally we’ll have a winner.
