One is Austria’s Eurovision 2017 star who won fans over with “Running on Air” and a series of gorgeous covers in the aftermath of the contest. The other is an up-and-coming DJ and producer based in London. And together Nathan Trent and J-MOX are taking us into summer with their debut collaboration “Secrets”.

The Spotify-friendly track comes with bright and cheery digital sounds — think electro-xylophone — and a light tropical feel. The song is largely verse-driven with Nathan really selling the pre-chorus before diving into a pop-drop carried by the instrumental.

Thematically, Nathan sings to the object of his affection. He wants to know her “Secrets” — dirty and otherwise — and is ready to let the skeletons out of his closet if she’s ready to take them. Sign us up!

As he sings: “I wanna know everything about you, wanna know what you dream at night, wanna know who you think about when baby girl I hold you tight…”

The song comes with a decidedly urban video that sees Nathan, J-MOX and their lady friends getting down at a rooftop BBQ and pulling shapes on the street.

Sweet-faced Nathan serves sensuality and sass in equal measure, proving that the boy next door has a sex drive too.

The contemporary number is further proof that “Running on Air” was a bit of a diversion for Nathan. While that was a delightful song that showcased Nathan’s personality, he’s clearly more keen on polished modern pop with a flash of swagger and attitude. Just remember his previous summer hit “Good Vibes”, which is, of course, still giving us good vibes.

Are you loving Nathan’s radio-friendly sound? What do you think of the music video? And are you ready to share your secrets with him? Let us know down below…

Nathan will always be remembered in the ESC community for being a charismatic performer with a great song and a good voice. Alekseev only for a creepy performance and bad vocals.

Your opinion is as valuable as mine, i.e. not really. But numbers are numbers and one has 24k views and the other 216k views in the same amount of time. Be my guest!

I don’t care how you rate your opinion, but don’t rate mine. Fact is – Nathan achieved a great 16th place in the grand final that Alekseev didn’t even reach. Case settled, we’re talking facts here, not opinions.

Ok, your opinion has lower following than mine , since Nathan dude has 29k followers and Alekseev has 697k followers, his new video has still 26k views against Alekseev’s 254k vews in the same time and only as a teaser! He is old news and dead news and Wiwi just refuses to see the real news!

I love Alekseev with all my heart but honestly there’s no point in comparing him and Nathan. They have completely different style in music and different career directions too.

Nathan is so far in the closet that he’s already found his way into Narnia.

It’s not a terrible song, but it doesn’t scream “hit” either. It’s like one of those songs that are submitted to Meldofestivalen, are rejected and then appear in some national final in Eastern Europe not making in past the semi final stage. Nathan is very charismatic and „Running on Air“ is a good song, but he still needs to find out how to make a lasting impression.

Nathan’s songs are generic trash, not even Justin Timberlake would have touched when he came out with his first solo album. Not to forget to mention that this one sounds like Nathan’s debut “Like It Is”. I just wish for Nathan to do a more grown up sound with mature lyrics because it all sounds dated and so 2000 and late. On the plus side: He still looks hot.
