It has been almost five months since Eleni Foureira set Lisbon on fire. However, the flames are still burning bright. “Fuego” is on the rise and has soared to number one on the PROMUSICAE radio airplay charts in Spain. This is an ACHIEVEMENT!
“Fuego” — Eleni Foureira
“Fuego” secured Cyprus its best ever result at Eurovision. Pop diva Eleni Foureira was on fire on stage, lighting up the Eurovision arena. The fire has gained steam in the aftermath of Eurovision, topping the charts in Greece, which Foureira calls home. It has also hit the top ten in the charts of Spain, Israel and Belgium, as well as charting in a number of European countries.
The latest achievement of “Fuego” involved topping the Spanish radio charts. This is not to be confused with the Spain singles chart, on which “Fuego” peaked at number 9. “Fuego” has remained on the latter for 20 weeks since entering the charts after Eurovision 2018.

Both Eleni Foureira and songwriter Alex Papaconstantinou were quick to share the song’s success on social media.
Alex P said: “This means so much. It’s hard to explain how incredibly much hard work has been put in these 3 minutes. But thanks to such a talented and unified team, we did it. And of course it wouldn’t be possible without @foureira“.
Eleni Foureira has been a busy woman since Eurovision 2018.
She received the key to the city of Tirana in her country of birth Albania. She has also been travelling and performing around Europe, from Sweden to Spain, spreading her wildfire all over the continent.
New music has also been on her agenda, giving us a taste of “Caramela” with more new music in the pipeline.
Our reaction to @foureira_eleni hitting #1 in Spain with her #Eurovision song “Fuego” ?? Congratulations! pic.twitter.com/Mf6630Fqkq

What do you think of Eleni Foureira’s success with “Fuego”? Are you still listening to “Fuego”? Let us know in athe comments below.
It’s just been certified Platinum in Spain! WIG!
It’s amazing how well Fuego has done in Spain. It is still practically everywhere you go and it has done wonders for the image of Eurovision here. Eleni will perform on the 2nd November at the Los 40 Spanish music awards in Madrid, alongside Bebe Rexha, Shawn Mendes, David Guetta, Bazzi, Tom Walker and Spanish stars such as David Bisbal, Pablo Alborán and many more, including Aitana War. I think she may have found a big market here and im quite happy about that. It is an achievement for her, for Greek music and for Eurovision as well!
Funny how Spanish televoting gave her only 8pts, where’s the love for Toy and Lie to Me?
I truly believe that if she had represented Greece (and assuming that ERT wanted to win), Fuego would’ve been first in televoting.
I hope they push Eleni’s name and singles in other markets too, for instance, Italy, Germany, Sweden & Netherlands.
She’s dating a Spanish athlete that plays on a Greek football team. The Greek tabloids gossip about them a lot.
She is perform her best, The hardwork speaks. I like the texture of her voice. May God provide with more of happiness and wealth which she deserves.
Thanks
I still listen to it in my car but never heard it in Italy, I don’t understand why Italy fun lassù ESC songs.
I new Enemi was number one since the day I saw her in concert many years ago.
The only non-Italian Eurovision song I’ve ever heard on the radio here in Italy is Euphoria. It’s also the only foreign ESC song that has ever charted in our top 100 singles chart this decade.
That’s funny: Italy was the only country not to give Euphoria any points that year.
Well we gave 3 televote points but the juries sabotaged it.
I was in Iceland two weeks ago and she was constantly on their radio. It made the whole driving experience in the country of fire even hotter 🙂 and fiercer 🙂 fuego!!!
Werk, Eleni!
I was in the Spanish Basque country last week and I heard Fuego at least 4 times on the radio lol
Queen of Europe
But it’s #69 on their official chart… the radio is so slow picking up hits
So she is not Number 1 in the official chart but 69?
could you send a link of the official chart so I can have a look at the rest of the hits in Spain? 🙂 thanking you in advance
Just click on my nickname… it’s mostly uninspiring reggae hits so you ain’t missing much.
Wow Ana Guerra and Aitana seem to be very succesful in Spain!
