Tonight’s the night! Sixteen acts will take to the stage at Eesti Laul 2025 to determine who will represent Estonia at Eurovision 2025.

Estonia have been placed in the first half of the first semi-final at Eurovision, and that means they will be one of the first acts to perform in Basel. However, will they make a long lasting impression? Today, the Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of music unprofessionals — sits down to see if they can find an act capable of doing just that. Read on to find out what the jury thinks.

1. Tommy Cash – “Espresso Macchiato”

Right, I didn’t want to write “Espresso Macchiato” as my favourite song — it is annoyingly addictive. It’s actually a great year in Estonia with many interesting songs so it was difficult to only choose five. But “Espresso Macchiato” is the only song from the lot that has lived in my head for a while after the first listen. It will be the earworm of the contest. That doesn’t necessarily give them the win at Eesti Laul of course. But the frequency of this song being in my head at random moments in my day will not go unnoticed. As long as Tommy doesn’t balls it up live, this will go through to Eurovision.

2. Andrei Zevakin ft. Karita – “Ma ei tea sind”
3. Elysa – “The Last to Know”
4. Felin – “Solo Anthem”
5. Johanna Elise – “Eyes Don’t Lie”

1. Ant – “Tomorrow Never Comes”

Admittedly I am not a ballad person in general but “Tomorrow Never Comes” is simply arresting. Ant’s long notes glide through so smoothly, all wrapped in a cozy melody that’s still pretty distinctive and present despite its understated nature. If this gets into the final, juries will be very likely to support it, and with a smartly staged live performance, it can captivate the audience as well.

2. Andrei Zevakin ft. Karita – “Ma ei tea sind”
3. An-Marlen – “Külm”
4. Janek – “Frozen”
5. Stereo Terror – “Prty Till the End of the World”

1. Tommy Cash – “Espresso Macchiato”

In 2024, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” took the world by storm. This year, it’s time for Tommy Cash’s “Espresso Macchiato” to take over Eurovision. What more can I say, other than that I’ve been addicted to this song since the Eesti Laul entries were released? It’s a catchy track — funny and sarcastic without being childish or giving off a JESC vibe. It’s also a true party anthem. I can easily see this becoming a highlight of the pre-parties and even a potential Eurovision winner. I don’t see it being staged as a “joke entry” — instead, I imagine a performance that contrasts with the humorous lyrics, much like in the music video, where Tonny’s deadpan seriousness pairs perfectly with his “mafioso” persona. In the end, what else is there to say? “Life is like spaghetti, it’s hard until you make it” might just be one of the most iconic ESC lines ever.

2. Minimal Wind – “Armageddon”
3. Elysa – “The Last to Know”
4. Felin – “Solo Anthem”
5. Frants Tikerpuu – “Trouble”

1. Janek – “Frozen”

“Frozen” literally has every ingredient of a perfect pop song. A modern, catchy beat, blended with beautiful vocals, meaningful lyrics and an emotional connection between song and artist. I absolutely love the haunting qualities of the bridge, as well as the emotional journey the song takes you on from start to finish, intensifying as it progresses. This is songwriting perfection, and the song is practically oozing Mørland — one of the songwriters behind it — in every way. Janek is vocally mesmerising and “Frozen” is simply a masterpiece. Utter perfection — well done!

2. Elysa – “The Last to Know”
3. Anna Sahlene – “Love Me Low”
4. Felin – “Solo Anthem”
5. Andrei Zevakin ft. Karita – “Ma ei tea sind”

Sebastian

1. Anna Sahlene – “Love Me Low”

Anna Sahlene’s “Love Me Low” is pure pop perfection with a silky, nostalgic touch — like a glitter-drenched throwback that still feels fresh. Her vocals glide effortlessly over the beat, serving just the right mix of drama and dance-floor magic. That shouldn’t be mistaken for cheap — this is a very well produced track that follows a disco formula, but makes it 2025. It’s got that “main character in a rom-com finale” energy, and honestly, who wouldn’t want to live in that moment?

2. Tommy Cash – “Espresso Macchiato”
3. Felin – “Solo Anthem”
4. Elysa – “The Last to Know”
5. An-Marlen – “Külm”
