The Eurovision 2025 season is now in full swing and no doubt fans will have the songs from this year’s contest on repeat until we crown a winner in May. But that doesn’t mean we forget about the artists from past contests – they’re still bringing us a lot of new music to enjoy.

Contrary to the commonly perpetuated myth about the song contest killing careers, we’re always thrilled to report that singers associated with Eurovision are thriving.

Here is our latest weekly roundup with a selection of the songs released recently by Eurovision stars.

New music from Eurovision artists: 2025 | Week 12 part 1

With so many new songs this week, we’ve split the roundup into two smaller articles. You can find part 2 here.

Lucio Corsi – Volevo essere un duro

Lucio Corsi is competing in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, representing Italy. On 21 March, which happens to be International Poetry Day, he dropped a new album — basically poetry set to music. The album shares its name with his Eurovision song, Volevo essere un duro (I Wanted to Be a Tough Guy), and of course, his Eurovision song is on it too. For fans of the singer-songwriter genre, this album is the ultimate Italian indie experience — poetic and melancholic, but also energetic and fun in parts.

The album includes “Tu sei il mattino” (You’re the Morning), a track he had already released to huge success. Some songs will make you reflect, like “Nel cuore della notte” (In the Heart of the Night), while others will put a smile on your face, like “Sigarette” (Cigarette). Lucio also brings some wild characters to life in his songs: “Francis Delacroix” is about a little boy made of wood who claims he smoked with Buddha in Bob Dylan’s dressing room in Naples (and had plenty of other legendary adventures — not that he’s lying, of course). Then there’s “Let There Be Rocko,” which tells the story of a middle school bully.

Describing his album, Lucio said:

“After about two years, I found nine different songs and convinced them to go and live in the same building. Thus, the record was born. […] It’s a record about childhood, friendship and love. It’s a record of true and false memories, of characters of good and evil, of locations, whether they are daisy meadows or squallid industrial areas. In forms of expression I believe that the thing we should tend to is change. In this disc I have looked for a transformation, mainly on a textual level, trying not to pull my feet off the ground any more. I have been trying to sing clearly and directly about people.”

Sniglabandið feat. VÆB & SPRNKLR – “sótt honum”

VÆB are the siblings representing Iceland at Eurovision this year. Even with the Eurovision season in full swing and pre-parties kicking off, they still find time to entertain their fans with new music — this time, through a collaboration.

They’ve teamed up with Sniglabandið, an iconic Icelandic band that has been around since 1985, consistently releasing fun and entertaining music, best known for their humorous style. SPRNKLR is also part of this collaboration.

Their new song, “Picked Up, “brings the same high energy as VÆB’s Eurovision entry, blending Icelandic pop and rap in a way that perfectly captures their style.

Victoria, Tommy Genesis & Miss Bashful – “T-Shirt”

Victoria is the bassist of Måneskin, the rock band that won Eurovision for Italy in 2021. But outside the band, she’s also a DJ, and this week, she’s dropping a collaboration with Tommy Genesis and Miss Bashful.

While Victoria sets the party rhythm, the music video itself is all about a girls-only party — one that, apparently, not even the police can crash. The song dives into see-through t-shirts and wet t-shirt contests, where less is more, and the small ones win… if you know what we mean!

SAGES – “Unknowing”

SAGES is a Swedish duo formed by Ólafur Arnalds and double Eurovision winner Loreen. This collaboration is all about creating music that feels like a brand-new experience, challenging all the senses, and this week’s track is no exception. With a sensitive and graceful instrumental and Loreen’s voice connecting deeply to every emotion, it’s pure magic.

Their genre? Emotive Pop — a style where euphoric, minimalist, yet electronic compositions come to life. This is already the third song from the newly formed duo, and when asked about the connection between this one and their previous work, they said:

“These 3 tracks are a cycle interwoven of ideas – First breathing, then making conscious decisions and finally opening and growing into oneself.”

AVDYSH feat. Salvador Sobral – “One Way Ticket”

Salvador, the winner of Eurovision 2017 for Portugal, has sung in many languages over the years — Portuguese, English, Spanish, and its variations. But this week, we hear him in Ukrainian.

His latest release is a jazzy collaboration with AVDYSH, a contemporary Ukrainian music project led by singer Kateryna Avdysh. The song is all about freedom — flying free like a bird and finding direction on a one-way journey: “Fly, bird, fly / This whole world is yours / The whole planet is your home now / You’re free, you’re not in a trap.” It all comes together in the song’s closing lines: “Fly, bird, fly… / My home is now the whole planet.”

Anouk – “Where The Mind Goes”

Anouk represented the Netherlands at Eurovision in 2013. Her new song is a retro rock track with bold lyrics like “Where the mind goes / The girl will follow,” telling the story of a woman who leaves behind a toxic relationship in search of peace of mind.

The lyrics dive into the dysfunction of the relationship with lines like I cheated on my cheater,” while also capturing the feeling of finally finding true love. This track will be part of her upcoming album, set to drop on 11 April.

Rosa represented Spain in 2002, and with her newest ballad, “Your Legacy,” she takes us through an open door straight to her heart. The song is a deep confession about family and a heartfelt tribute to her father, Eduardo, whose memory lives on forever in Rosa’s heart.

The track beautifully connects her late father to the family members still here, with lyrics that are both powerful and heart-breaking: “You don’t know how difficult it is not to have you / You don’t know how much I still miss your way of understanding / You did something right because your memory lives on / Everyone talks to me… about you.”

Nathan Trent – “Lovers Do”

Nathan represented Austria in 2017, and this week he’s back with a pop banger that’s ready to take over the airwaves.

The song captures the moment of realisation that a relationship just isn’t working anymore: “I know what lovers do / We are so far away.” It goes on to say that changing direction is okay — sometimes even for the best — and that he’s done pretending: “Ain’t nothing wrong with changing your mind / But I won’t pretend we’ll be alright.”

Lo van Gorp feat. Trijntje Oosterhuis – “The Mother”

Trijntje represented the Netherlands in 2015. This week, she teams up with Dutch singer and saxophonist Lo van Gorp for a collaboration.

The jazzy track is an ode to mothers and all they do in this world. With lyrics in English, it’s one of those sensitive additions to our playlist this week.

Lord Of The Lost – “My Sanctuary”

Lord Of The Lost is a well-known rock band from Germany that competed in 2023. After recently participating in numerous collaborations with various artists, LOTL are back with a song of their own — a rock anthem about finding sanctuary in your own darkness.

The song comes with a dark, aesthetic music video. Despite the dark visuals and the song’s heavy sound, the lyrics are all about finding your sanctuary, where you can gather the strength to move forward.

Aminata – “Vienalga”

Aminata remains an iconic Eurovision figure after her flawless representation for Latvia in 2015. Her newest song, “Regardless,” showcases her incredible voice once again in an acoustic tune about the passage of time and how, in its flow, some things remain lost and forgotten: “Let time pass until it flows like a boat / We’ll each sit in our own boat.” A bittersweet meditation on time, love, and loss, Aminata once again captures a whole range of emotions in just one track.

Rambo Amadeus – “U dobra stara vremena”

Rambo, who represented Montenegro in 2012, is bringing us “In The Good Old Days” with his newest track. With a retro intro that becomes a recurring motif throughout the song, it ironically reflects on the challenges of the past, comparing them to the challenges of the present day.

Monica Anghel – “Imun La Te Iubesc”

Monica represented Romania in 2002 alongside Marcel Pavel, and now she’s back with a stunning new ballad. The song gradually builds, full of suspense, pain, a touch of drama, and plenty of poetry in its lyrics. With a delicate black-and-white music video and Monica’s powerful voice, “Immunity to I Love You” will hit you deep in your soul if you’ve ever felt heartbroken.

The lyrics speak to the struggles of love and loss: “If silence is your favourite song / Let the kiss be our last dance / If our love is a battlefield / Who is the first of us raising the white flag?” As the song continues, it explores how a painful romantic experience can make you immune to love, leaving lasting marks on your heart: “Don’t tell me to be quiet, no / I hate that I like you, I swear / It’s so unearthly to be immune to ‘I love you.'”

Jacques Houdek – “Proljeća, ljeta, jeseni, zime”

Are you looking for a wedding song? Jacques has the perfect one, called “Spring, summer, autumn, winter.” He represented Croatia in 2017.

The song is a celebration of love and a promise to go through all the seasons of life together. Just like spring, love makes everything bloom again, even after the challenging winters of the soul. The song is crafted for a slow dance for two.

Connect-R – “Zi, Fa!”

Connect-R is a Romanian artist who represented Moldova at Eurovision in 2006 alongside Arsenium and Natalia. Proud of his Romani heritage, his new song features a series of specific slang and expressions from the Romani language. The lyrics speak about jealousy, as the chorus says: “Tell me / With whom you’re with / When you’re not answering my phone.”

Sabina Babayeva – “Vurulmuşam”

And we end this part with Sabina, who represented Azerbaijan in 2012. She’s bringing us a retro dance track called “I’m Hurt.” The lyrics speak about a love that has been kept secret and how difficult it is to keep it that way: “I am so lost for you / I am lost / From missing you secretly every night / I am tired of keeping it a secret.”

Which of these new songs is your favourite? Have we missed out on any? Do you have any artists you want to shout out to? Let us know in the comments.

I liked Lucio Corsi with the quiet songs about the animals.

Sorry to be THAT Italian person who always question what you wrote but many things about Lucio Corsi’s songs are wrong. “Sigarette” don’t put a smile on your face, it’s the most unmerciful songs of all the songs he ever wrote in his entire career. And Francis Delacrois is about a friend of him (a photographer) that has adventures are so crazy in real life that he decided to rewrite his story in a even crazier way with tons and tons of quotes to places, history, characters, etc. etc. The beginning when he said that is a wooden child is… Read more »
