Last year Latvia’s Supernova emerged as one of the strongest national finals of the year. And today Latvian Public Media (LSM) are ready to take things even higher with the reveal of the 24 semi-finalists for Supernova 2026. We’re pasting their full press release below. 

Latvia reveals the Supernova 2026 semi-finalists and their song titles (PRESS RELEASE)

The jury of the Latvian Public Media (LSM) song contest “Supernova” has selected 24 acts to take part in the semi-finals, which will be broadcast live on January 31 and February 7, 2026. The winner, decided by both the jury and the public during the final on February 14, will earn the chance to represent Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria, in May.

The following acts have qualified for the 2026 Supernovasemi-finals (in alphabetical order):

Agnesse Oh My My” (music and lyrics – Agnese Stengrevica, Jacob Markman and Gilbert Gauci)

A singer who began her musical journey at the age of 16 with her debut single “Best Thing I Never Had”, created together with her father, Helvijs Stengrevics. She gained wider recognition by participating in the Supernova competition in 2018 with the song “You Are My World”. Her single “Saku Tev Atā” became one of the most popular tracks on Radio 5’s Latvian Music Top 20, while the mini-album “Uz Augšu”, released in 2024, reflects personal growth and relationship experiences from the perspective of a young woman. The education and experience she gained abroad in the music industry have enabled Agnesse to develop her unique sound and professional vision.

Aivo Oskis Walking Out (music and lyrics – Aivo Oskis and Teemu Juhani Skutnabb-Javanainen)

An experienced Latvian musician who has participated in both local and international competitions and festivals. During his studies in London, he became more deeply involved in music, forming the band Silver Dime, with which he wrote original music and performed at various festivals. After returning to Latvia, Aivo continued to work actively in music and, in 2022, released his debut album Suvenīrs, its singles Krūze, Suvenīrs and Pašiem nemanot gained wide recognition on Latvian radio stations. Aivo has also successfully proven himself as a radio personality.

Antra Stafecka “Divejāda” (music Ingars Viļums and Antra Stafecka, lyrics Ingars Viļums)

A singer and voice of Latvian Radio 2, who has released several albums and formed successful musical collaborations with well-known and legendary Latvian musicians, singers, and composers. She has participated in various TV shows and continues to actively perform and release new music. Her most recent and successful collaboration is with musician and producer Ingars Viļums resulting in the release of the album Manas zemes sirds and a concert tour with sold-out venues. The jointly created song Baltu dzīvi nodzīvot, in collaboration with the band Jumprava, was awarded the title of Most Valuable Song in the music poll Muzikālā banka in 2024.

Atvara “Ēnā” (music and lyrics – Atvara andJānis Jačmenkins also known as JJ LUSH)

A singer who gained recognition on the TikTok platform with her debut single Pie manis tveries, which received wide acclaim and was also featured in the TV series Nelūgtie viesi. She has collaborated with Intars Busulis on the song Vai drīkst kāpt dziļāk. Her latest single Dzīve mūs mētā continues to strengthen Atvara’s visibility. This summer, the artist held nine sold-out solo concerts, receiving standing ovations. Atvara has also proven herself on television, where she co-hosted the first music awards show GAMMA.

Blurie Lovin’ Always Gets Me Down (music and lyrics – Renārs Dagilis)

A young musician who began learning music production and songwriting at the age of 17. He published his first self-created and self-produced works on streaming platforms while simultaneously creating short song cover versions on social media. Success in the digital space attracted the attention of music publishers and record labels in London, opening the opportunity to begin writing top-line songs for electronic music producers and DJs. So far, the artist has sold five exclusive vocal tracks, two of which have already been officially released, including collaborations with musicians such as Rene Rodrigezz and Felix Schorn.

Daba “Panic Attack” (music Deniels Bērziņš,Santa Paula Mata and Tomasz Kamiński, lyrics Deniels Bērziņš and Santa Paula Mata)

Daba (Deniels Bērziņš) is a singer, songwriter, and producer from Riga who gained wider recognition by participating in a television singing competition. His music blends alternative and indie-pop sounds with personal and open storytelling about relationships, emotions, and life experiences. With the songs Gribu mājās and Istabā, Daba creates snapshots of life where the lyrics intertwine with multilayered soundscapes. The artist’s goal is to create music that stays in memory, inspires, resonates with listeners, and allows them to feel a genuine emotional closeness.

De Mantra “Let Them” (music and lyrics – Liene Leitāne and Madara Martinkena)

A musical duo formed by Liene Leitāne and Madara Martinkena. The duo’s music reflects life, love, and freedom, boldly blending various styles and creating a unique sound in each project. So far, they have released three singles – Mana Telpa, Nakts Orķestris and Let Them.

Edvards Strazdiņš “I Ain’t Got The Guts”(music and lyrics – Edvards Strazdiņš)

A singer and songwriter who is regarded as a promising new voice in Latvian country music. Although he began his solo career relatively recently, Edvards has already managed to reach a wide audience with his self-composed country, schlager, and pop songs. His debut album Lauku dzīves miera osta was nominated for and awarded the Zelta Mikrofons prize as the Best Country Album. In 2024, the musician released his second studio album Uz Tukumu pēc smukuma and created two of his most popular hits – Mans vecais Audi and Uz Tukumu pēc smukuma. Edvards has collaborated with well-known Latvian musicians such as Guntars Račs, Raimonds Pauls, and the group Saldās sejas, as well as performed as the opening act for the group bet bet. In the spring of 2025, he held his first major sold-out solo concert in Tukums.

ELPO “Blakus” (music – Amanda Bašmakova and Mārtiņš Makreckis, lyrics – Amanda Bašmakova)

A musical duo formed by Amanda Bašmakova and Mārtiņš Makreckis. The duo introduced themselves at the end of 2023 with their debut mini-album Rožu dārzs, and at the beginning of 2025 they received a nomination at the GAMMA music awards in the category Electronic Dance Music Artist of the Year. Their collaboration evolved naturally and effortlessly, like breathing something that has also become a symbol of their creative work. Elpo’s music is created with the aim of making people feel better, move, hum along to the melodies, and experience the stories they tell.

Emilija “All We Ever Had” (music – Emilija Bērziņa and Povel Olsson, lyrics – Emilija Bērziņa)

Emilija is a musician and songwriter who became known to a wider audience in 2023 after participating in a television singing competition. Following her victory, she released her debut single Sirds pelnos, which gained wide recognition, was nominated for the Zelta Mikrofons award in 2025, and placed 4th in the Muzikālā banka final. In 2025, the musician achieved 2nd place in the Eurovision national selection Supernova with the song Heartbeat. That same year, she was nominated for the GAMMA awards in the categories Solo Artist of the Yearand New Artist of the Year, receiving an award for her achievements in 2024. Emilija has performed as an opening act for the groups Hurts and Brainstorm. In October 2025, she released her first album Tintes stāsts, from which the song Pašam būt reached the top of Latvian radio charts.

Honey Blue “Blue Disco” (music and lyrics Santa Paula Mata, Antons Kulagins, Karīna Aurora Paņina, Dominiks Levuškāns and Andrejs Ļevskojs)

A soul and indie band formed by five friends, whose sound also incorporates elements of funk and soul jazz. Their music blends a nostalgic mood with a contemporary tone, revealing the feeling expressed in the band’s name – a play between softness and melancholy. This atmosphere is created by Santa Paula Mata (vocals), Antons Kulagins (guitar), Karīna Aurora Paņina (bass), Andrejs Ļevskojs (drums), and Dominiks Levuškāns (trumpet). So far, the band, founded in 2022, has released three original tracks – Come Over, French Touch, and How Did I Know. They continue to gather new positive frequencies and note combinations that are still waiting for their moment to be heard.

Ivo Grīsniņš Grīslis “Home” (music and lyrics– Ivo Grīsniņš Grīslis)

A singer, trumpeter, and songwriter. He began making music at the age of six when he enrolled in music school, and later sang in the pop group Zīles and the ensemble Decima. Together with the rock band Marce he participated in various music festivals both in Latvia and abroad. He graduated from the trumpet class of the Aizkraukle Pēteris Barisons Music School and sang for many years in the GG Choir under the direction of Gunārs Kalniņš. As a backing vocalist, Ivo has collaborated with several well-known artists in Latvia and abroad, and he has also been part of the group Prego. He has improved his vocal skills in masterclass camps and has performed in the musicals Cukurs. Herberts Cukurs and Lāčplēsis. He has participated multiple times in Latvian music competitions, including Supernova, as well as in various television shows. The musician has released two solo albums.

Jānis Rugājs “Smoke” (music and lyrics – Elad Lahmany, Kjersti Sleveland and Jānis Rugājs)

A singer who began his musical path at the Saldus Music School and later continued his studies in the vocal department of the Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Secondary School of Music. He has participated in several performances and competitions, as well as in a television talent show, where he reached the final in 2024. He is currently singing in the professional chamber choir Ave Sol.

“Kautkaili” “Te un tagad” (music and lyrics – Kristīne Pāže, Didzis Bardovskis and Krists Krūskops)

The group consists of musicians Kristīne Pāže, Didzis Bardo, and Krists Krūskops. Kautkaili is rooted in experiments with nostalgia in music, fusing Latvian 90s alternative pop with worldly soul music and using contemporary layers of sound. At the center of the group is singer and songwriter Kristīne Pāže, whose velvety voice and intelligent melodies lead listeners into an as-yet-unknown world of emotions.

Krisy “Take It” (music and lyrics Kristiāna Skrudupa, Andis Ansons and Ben Pyne)

A musician who produces and writes her songs in English. She is one of the few women in the Latvian hip-hop scene and stands out with a musical style that harmoniously blends elements of R&B, hip-hop, pop, and electronic music. Krisy debuted in 2019 with the single Don’t Flip Yo Wig, establishing herself as one of the rising stars of Latvian urban music. She has collaborated with artists March, E.V., Shenfi, and others. The song Take Itwas created during a songwriting camp in Riga.

KRISTĪNE MEGIJA “Insanity” (music and lyrics – Daina Laima)

Kristīne Megija Žvagiņa is a versatile young vocalist who began working in the music industry by experimenting and challenging herself across a wide range of genres. She has obtained a secondary professional education as a jazz vocalist and has begun continuing her studies at the university level. She has participated in various competitions and concert programs both in Latvia and elsewhere in Europe, earning awards and gaining experience through collaborations with different musicians.

LEGZDINA “Ribbon” (music Elīza Legzdiņaand Ben Dunkerley, lyrics Elīza Legzdiņa)

LEGZDINA is musical dynamite. Born in Latvia, raised in London, and forged in the heat of underground club culture, she is a genre-breaking artist known for her fierce verses and powerful vocals that can shift in a single breath from operatic to raw and gritty. Her sound blends confident energy with the bounce of UK garage rhythms, the soul of R&B, the sharpness of grime, and a generous dose of sparkle. With songs that have been featured in international music projects and in clubs that smell of sweat and freedom, Legzdina creates music that moves bodies, minds, and systems. She has collaborated with Sara Landry and Idris Elba, joined the Loud LDN collective, and has been included in multiple artists to watch lists across various platforms.

Miks Galvanovskis “Cruel Angel” (music – Miks Galvanovskis, Lance Vought and Ričards Bulavs, lyrics– Miks Galvanovskis and Lance Vought)

A singer who began his solo career nine years ago. He gained wider recognition after participating in “Supernova” in 2022, where he placed fourth. He received the “Zelta Mikrofons” award for the most valuable song of the year in the public vote. Last year, Miks released the album “Bohēmas dienasgrāmata”, held his first major solo concert, and was nominated for the “GAMMA” music award as Rock Musician of the Year. In the song contest “Muzikālā banka”, he achieved fifth place with the song “Stulbā sirdsapziņa”. Miks performs actively and has had a powerful year, playing more than 100 concerts.

NOLARK Different Places(music – Ralfs Plešs and Kārlis Daudziņš, lyrics –Ralfs Plešs, Matīss Daudziņš and Kārlis Daudziņš)

A young singer who began his musical career in 2018 by releasing his first EP “Lion”. Since then, he has been actively working on creating new singles and developing his musical skills. The recently released single “Summer Is Over” has become an important turning point that inspired the artist to participate in the song contest “Supernova”.

“Papīra lidmašīnas” – “You’re My Saviour” (music – Juris Ludženieks and Rihards Bērziņš, lyrics – Rihards Bērziņš)

A group of friends (vocalist Rihards Bērziņš, keyboardist and studio producer Juris Ludženieks, bassist Gunārs Toms Narbuts, guitarist Reinis Briģis and drummer Edgars Raila) that has transformed into a band for whom music is both a passion and a way of life. The band describes itself as an energetic, stage-ready collective that lives through music and shares its feelings from the first note to the last chord. Since the release of their first original song in 2022, “Papīra lidmašīnas” has become one of the most in-demand bands in Latvia. In 2024, they participated in the song contest “Supernova” and reached the final with the song “Mind Breaker”. That same year, the band released the album “Turbulence”, while the single “Lido tu” remained for several months on the list of the most-played songs on Latvian radio stations.

PAULA “Dejot vien” (music Paula Dundereun Jēkabs Kalmanis, lyrics Paula Dundere)

Paula Dundere has been singing since the age of 2. From the age of 5, she sang in the creative studio “Pekšņi”, later continuing vocal lessons in the studio “Smaidiņi”, led by her mother Iluta Dundere. Paula has participated in various music competitions and television projects in Latvia and Lithuania, gaining recognition and experience. In 2023, she won a young musicians competition and released her debut album “CGI”, which includes seven original songs, among them “Ķīmiska atkarība” (together with Zeļģis), “Atspulgi” and “Delulu”. These singles have successfully entered the Latvian radio charts. The album “CGI” was nominated for the “Zelta Mikrofons” award in 2024 in the category “Debut of the Year”.

Robert Ox “Ravin’ At The Taj Mahal” (music– Roberts Memmēns, lyrics Maria Malmstorm and Emma Gale)

Robert Ox, whose real name is Roberts Memmēns, is a Latvian singer, music producer, and songwriter who began his career in the field of vocal arts. At the age of 16, he started singing in the vocal group “Framest”, with which he is still associated today. At the age of 23, he became involved in forming the group “Citi Zēni”, with whom he has achieved his greatest success, including earning a spot in Eurovision in 2022. He is the author of the songs “Eat Your Salad”, “Limuzīns Uz Krīta”, “Vienmēr Kavēju”, “Lieka Štuka”, “Baļļīte” and others. In his daily work, he works in a studio where he writes and produces music both for himself and for other projects.

TIKASHA SAKAMA “#010126 CODA”(music and lyrics Nansija Garkalne)

TIKASHA SAKAMA, whose real name is Nansija Garkalne, is a vibrant creative personality of the new generation who has proven herself in television, social media, and event hosting. Her experience spans content creation, production, and live broadcast hosting, which has allowed her to successfully combine creativity with professional management. Nansija has hosted various significant events and developed television projects, as well as proven herself as an actress. In music, Nansija began as a songwriter and performer for her own enjoyment, but in recent years she has started sharing her work more widely. She has collaborated with various musicians, helping to produce and create vocal harmonies. In 2024, she became the winner of a television show, which became an important turning point in her creative path and inspired her to start a solo career.

Vēstnieks “Vai tas ir kāds brīnums?” (music and lyrics – Rūdolfs Macats)

Vēstnieks, whose real name is Rūdolfs Macats, is a Latvian musician, songwriter, and producer. He spent his study years abroad, studying in Amsterdam and Scandinavia. As a co-writer and producer, he has collaborated with many Latvian artists, including Chris Noah, “Bel Tempo”, Shipsea, “Laika Suns” and others. Vēstnieks’s musical career began in 2017, when after studying abroad he returned to Latvia and turned to singing and music production. Until then, Rūdolfs was known among musicians as a skilled pianist and drummer. In 2020, his first radio single “Nav par vēlu” was released, followed later by “Strāva”, “Cerība” and “Sapņu ķērājs”. His debut album “FM Nostalģija” was nominated for the 2024 “Zelta Mikrofons” award as one of the best pop music albums.

All semi-final songs will be available from December 4 this year on supernova.lsm.lv and Supernova YouTube channel.

In May, Latvia was represented at Eurovision by the “etno-pop” music group “Tautumeitas” with the song “Bur man laimi”, reaching the final of the contest and finishing in 13th place. Not only in Latvia but also worldwide, Eurovision broadcasts achieved the highest viewership ratings in recent years. In total, more than 166 million people watched the three Eurovision TV broadcasts across 37 countries, while the contest’s video content across various social media platforms accumulated more than two billion views.

About the contest “Supernova”

“Supernova” is a song contest organized by LSM, aimed at selecting Latvia’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. “Supernova” was held for the first time in 2015, replacing the previous national selection formats “Eirodziesma” (2000–2012) and “Dziesma” (2013–2014).
