This weekend Ukraine’s national selection comes to a glorious end as voters choose their representative for Eurovision 2016. Judging from the semi-finals, it’s clear that Ukraine are ready to return to Eurovision with a bang. Jamala, The Hardkiss, Brunettes Shoot Blondes, Pur:Pur, Sunsay and NuAngels all know how to slay. But who should win overall?

@Jessica, why ESC authorities allowed Russia to participate in contest? there’s at least 4 countries who suffered annexation and armed conflicts (that still going) from Russia, they downed MH-17, downed plane with all Polish government on board and shoot everyone who survived the crash (Smolensk), they bully Baltic countries, Turkey, lands of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Ukraine has been annexed. Song contest? with songs about peace? is not it would be simplier to just kick Russians from this event so everyone will feel at ease and will have no need to sing “political” song while being slaughtered by “peaceful” Russia?
@Jessica, you’re complaining that Ukraine sends “political” song? (it’s not political but based on historical events – can you feel the difference?). Tell me, if you touched Russia theme in your comment, why Russia need to send any political song if they feel themselves OK to kill innocent people, shell hospitals, kindergartens, they have sooo much fun and zero responsibility for it. Why they would bother to send a political song is they can send death? Today pro-russian rebel forces killed 3 or Ukrainian soldiers and injured 7. I’ve listened to all of these songs….So my choice is JAMALA. Her incredible performance touched my heartstrings, it’s great when you can not only listen but FEEL special emoitions. It’s super awesome when you see not just a singer but something more…I mean when there is a MESSAGE to the world…So these deep emotins are priceless! Bravo Jamala & Good Luck!

Depending on their stage design and their outfits for the big stage in Stockholm, if the Hardkiss win, methinks they’ll easily get 150 before the real scoring begins. 200 is not out of the question. Did I miss something, or do they have an official music video for this song?

I am quite surprised to see that people who hated Lisa Angell in Vienna would freaking love to see Jamala in Stockholm.
To be honest, I find so many similarities between both songs (quite slow, singer in black with a great voice, songs about the horror of wars etc…)
I have non-Eurovision-fan friends sharing ‘1944’ on Facebook. I love Jamala, I love the song, and I am hugely excited to see how it goes in Stockholm. Please send it, Ukraine!

Nuangels unique voice to conquer the Eurovision Song Contest, a good song.
I love the NuAngels’ song. Their voices are amazing. Song is memorable and epic.
It’s pretty much a given that Jamala, The Hardkiss and Sunsay will make up the top 3, the question is in what order. I think any of them can pull off a win, just like Russia and Azerbaijan won Eurovision without qualifying first from their semifinals, everything is possible.
I get the hype about 1944 and I wouldn’t be upset if Jamala won, but I just don’t like it, her singing gets on my nerves. Anyway, I’ll be satisfied with whomever wins for Ukraine, all 6 songs are interesting in their own way

I love The Hardkiss song, it’s a kinda different style than we are used to… But Jamala brings me goosebumps every single time I’m listening to her song…. her voice is so unique, performance and the song are very, very emotional, so I think she has a great chances to win….
I also like “Love Manifest” by SunSay, but it’s not that powerful for me like “1944”.

There is nothing controversial about Jamala`s song with respect to Russia. She is singing about deportation of crimean tatars that is also being stated by Russia to be criminal act by Stalin. So I don`t see why some russians are so excited about Jamala and her song. Maybe because she is from Crimea and do not support russians present annexation of Crimea. You like maybe becuase Jamala song wili be provocate Russia and their people at Eurovision stage in Sweden. I think song wili be like and EBU , and I bet that Ukraine wili get so overrated votes by juries like Sweden from 2012 to 2015, only maybe 0 points from Russia. Belarus and Armenia.

For me best are Jamala or Nuangels. If we dont have tension between Ukraine and Russia , I think Ukraine wili be chose another singer not Jamala. Becuse we have this tension, Jamala wili get maxium points from juries and televote.

I would be content with Jamala representing Ukraine, but I SO BADLY WANT THE HARDKISS to be the ones flying their flag in Stockholm. The song just pierces right through your soul (or mine at least). Jamala’s song took me a while to really feel its power but The Hardkiss just killed me on first listen.
