After three heats and two semi-finals, the eight acts who’ll compete in the grand final of Hungary’s A Dal have been decided. But who should win the ticket to Kyiv?
The eights finalists will compete at the grand final this Saturday. But before then, we want to know what you think.

I find Origo to be the best. It has an outstanding atmosphere and originality that captivates the attention. If the staging gets better somehow (I like it, but lacks some storytelling and culmination point) it could be a dark horse this year.
Toth Gabi is nice too, but it just reminds me of Jamala, etc., too similar, which makes it to seem like a “remake”. Especially the tree – it has to go without question! Some bird metaphors instead (that fits the lyrics too) would be better.
I am between Gabi and Gigi. I really like both songs.
If Hungary wants to send sth in Hungarian, with a traditional element and having an interesting live performance which will make it stand out, then pick Gabi.
If Hungary wants to play safe and send a song in English with a great vocalist then pick Gigi.
But for me there are already a couple of women singing ballads, so personally, I’d go with Gabi.
I definitely choose for “Hosszu idok” over everything in A Dal 2017! Very folksy, has EDM elements, and the Hungarian language is very beautiful. But honestly, either this or the Kallay-Saunders Band. #HosszuIdok4Life
Gabi and Joci have the songs and stage performances that have the best chance of finishing in the top 10. I would think Gabi has a good chance of finishing in the top 5. She is channeling Jamala and Ruslana (more on the Ruslana side, though). Depending on whether the public is once again hungry for a hard-rock tune to come to the forefront, Leander Kills could possibly steal a top-10 spot; anywhere in the top 15 is not out of the question for them. Mark my words : it will not be Papai Joci – ”Origo”, it is not hungarian culture, he is just token. And only if hungarians will be struck by lightning, will send the sorceress.
My guess : Gigi, Soulwave or Kallay-Saunders.
Gigi of course has an amazing voice,But I’m not sure if the song works for her? It’s good but I preferred Ugy Faj a lot more, And of course as everyone else does, I want Gabi Toth [TOTOVA] to win! <3
I would like Gina Kanizsa to win but she has not been getting enough televote support. Would expect her to get put through by the juries though.
Out of the favourites, I would not mind Joci Pápai too much. The song is good and it is one of the few instances where the rap does not seem forced. I feel like they did not do enough with Hosszú idök and would be disappointed if it was chosen. KSB would be a safe choice. Would almost certainly see them through to the Eurovision final.

@Robyn – I agree. I shake my head every time I hear a national jury discussing what makes a ‘good Eurovision song’. The right question should be: What makes a good song. Period. Who says opera, rock, rap or jazz aren’t made for Eurovision? ANY GOOD SONG can win or pass well at ESC. Jamala’s song was definitely not a standard ESC song and she won. For example, I believe Hungarians should have courage to send more distinctive songs like Gabi’s or Joci’s rather than usual bland expected songs like 17 or Fall Like Rain.
Only Chase had a real chance. Eurovision for hungary is over.
Totova or Joci Pápai
For me it’s a battle between the big 2! Gabi Toth or Papai Joci! These are masterpieces giving us Hungarian language realness (as William would say). Hats off to Hungary for having quality, wonderful songs in their native tongue, not some generic, unoriginal, anglicized ballad or pop song (re: Germany, Georgia, etc). Go, Hungary! 😀

Gabi is my favourite of the lot, Gigi and Leander Kills round my top 3.
I actually like most the songs only ones I’m not keen on are Gina and Kallay Saunders. I started not liking Joci but it’s growing on me and love the ethnic vibe
What a weak selection from Hungary this year. Really? Adam Szabo was clearly the winner of this selection, but now the juries got rid of him in favor of this stupid Hungarian folklore. Totova for Eurovision with her witchcraft?! Do you guys not know what happens to witches? They get burned at the stake!

Everything else is a flop. Including the “witch” theme and mess of a song that Gabi has. Just no.

Tough choice between Gabi Toth and Joci Papai. I like both songs but fear the CROOKED judges will rig it for Gigi.
17 is clearly a flop.
My choice is Origo by far!
Standing still with Origo. Simpler but effective sing-along. Both of leaders might keep atmosphere with them so it’s still unclear for me, but I see why Gabi got the lead.
Origo or 17. We need more male power to Eurovision. Joci has unique song, with fresh breeze of ethnic sounds. Kallay-Saunders Band has amazing mainstream song with hypnotizing atmosphere.
Either Gabi Toth or Joci Papai.

I don’t see hungarians sending a sorceress. Actually there is nothing traditional hungarian on that list.
I have no idea if they will like a female ballad or a male band.
I would question the obviousness of decision here. While quite a few acts shine in a local competition, the question is which of them would be able to transcend to an international stage. I am not talking about making them sound like a genetic Euro-pop or changing the language. Actually I find the Hungarian language so unique and special and believe we should hear more of it. Toth Gabi! Easiest decision I’ve made in a long time. She is the only one who has charisma, energy and the song to match. The whole Gypsy sorceress thing is awesome! My second is the second in the poll too. Origo is a good ethnic number, although it gets bit repetitive. As for the rest: Elet is nice as a rock song, but no winner. Kallay Saunders Band’s song is much, much, much weaker than Running. Two English-language ballads are so boring, especially Fall Like Rain. Kalandor sound nice, but also gets repetitive a bit. I think that the juries will eventually send Gabi, Joci, Gigi and Gina to the superfinal, and the televoters will be split between Gabi and Joci. May the best win!
Gabi Tóth. If she wins, I’m voting for Hungary at the Eurovision. Joci would be great too… but please, not Kállay-Saunders, his song and vocals are so weak this year.
