Russia’s Little Big might not have had the chance to take their song “Uno” to Eurovision, but they have reason to celebrate. The music video is how the most-watched video ever on the official Eurovision YouTube channel, overtaking 2018 champ Netta’s “Toy” video.
When we last checked in back in May, “Uno” had clocked up over 100 million views, putting it in second place behind Netta. In the two months since then, not does Little Big’s video have over 134 million views, but it’s now the most popular video on the Eurovision YouTube channel.
Little Big is a popular group with a large, supportive fan base. The video for their most recent single “Hypnodancer” is already sitting on 92.48 million views, while the video for their global smash hit “Skibidi” has a massive 438.8 million views.
Netta previously slid into top position in May 2018, soon after her Lisbon Eurovision victory. But while Netta is now in second place, she still has an impressive 133.88 million views — with good distance between her and Lena who has 64.17 million views for her “Satellite music video in third place.
Eurovision movie “Song-A-Long” participant Jesse Matador is in fourth place with 61.67 million views for his Eurovision entry “Allez Ola Olé”. Loreen has reclaimed fifth place from Måns Zelmerlöw. Her “Euphoria” grand final performance has 41.3 million views, making it the most popular live performance, while Måns is closely behind in sixth place with 41.14 million views for his live performance of “Heroes”.
“Uno” still has a way to go before it outranks some iconic Italian songs. Mahmood‘s original video for “Soldi” has over 162.15 million views. The music video for the original version of Il Volo‘s “Grand amore” has over 180.53 million views. Even more impressive is the music video for the original version of Francesco Gabbani‘s song “Occidentalis karma”. It has clocked up over 243.8 million views.
However, all these videos use the song in a longer form than the version that was entered into Eurovision in their respective years. For contrast, Diodato‘s “Fai rumore” video currently has 40.08 million views.
Little Big were internally selected to represent Russia at Eurovision 2020. While some countries have already invited back their 2020 acts to Rotterdam 2021, there’s no word yet on whether Russia will participate, which broadcaster will organise the entry or indeed how their act will be selected.

What do you think? Could Little Big have won Eurovision 2020 with “Uno”? Should they return to Eurovision 2021? Tell us your thoughts below!
I wonder if Ilya is pleased with the number of views he got for his Brussels Pride video

TOLD YOU !!! this would be achieved this summer and everyone was mocking the same way they were 100% the winners this year.
Sorry but no. The VAST majority of reactions are from Russia, it is not a global hit. I personally don’t believe this would have won, maybe the televote and that’s a big maybe. ICELAND and MALTA had most chances of winning this year I think.
The way we’re going it won’t be long before an Executive Supervisor decrees that YouTube views can count towards the result.
People complain about the Eurovision movie making the contest look silly then our top two most viewed videos from the contest are “Uno” and “Toy”. 😉
“People complain…” who complains? 1% of the fans?
Anyone have any idea whether Little Big will be selected for 2021? (I really hope so)
Most likely. Russian broadcaster didn’t select a song. They selected the act so there is no logic to change their mind, unless it is decided that it is Channel Russia’s turn.
Uno would have completely smashed the televote. It has universal appeal and has an instant impact so would have captured first-time viewers. Whether it would have won would be down to how much the juries would have downvoted it.
Idk why but for some reason I was SO sure that this would finish in 5th place. Like 99% certain. But ofc we’ll never know haha
I can see this winning the televote, but if it won the jury vote then there’s something wrong. Juries should be voting on song quality alone – forget the humour, forget the dance routine, forget the staging…if this had won I’d have been disappointed. I do like it, though.
Not that my thing is any kind of perfectly accurate simulation, but the juries put Uno eighth there. Still probably wouldn’t have been enough to win.
Yeah, that seems realistic. I don’t mind juries being somewhat influenced by the razzle dazzle but not so much that it would top the vote.
It kinda compares to the lovable Russian grannies of 2012. Second with the televote. Eleventh with the juries.
Just because something is done with comical purposes does not mean it cannot be well crafted and well staged.
I’m aware of that. Juries should vote on song quality alone is what I’m saying.
Just a reminder:
In 2015, heavenly musical song from Italy was 1st in televoting, 6th in Jury voting.
In 2016, avant-garde song from Armenia was considered by jury worse than cheap schalgers from Malta and Sweden (as always, tbh)
In 2017, artsy Belgium was 4th with televoting and 8th with juries (worse than Sweden and Australia OMG)
In 2018, cheap and vocally flat Sweden was 2nd with juries and 23rd with televoters (didn’t deserve it even that)
TBH I like tops of televoters more than those of the jury 🙂
Yeah, I know about that. I was saying what they should do – not necessarily how they actually behave. I think Sweden topped the jury vote in 2015 purely because of the elaborate staging. That should have had no influence on their decisions, unless subconscious…it’s a song contest, not a one-off staging contest.
Frans ended up higher with the televote than with the juries
This is what juries should do yet we know it’s not the case. They don’t even care about lyrical content or take in consideration if it’s a local song or own language or culture. Or if the artist wrote it. Etc.
Why should it matter if the singer wrote it? That’s not relevant at all. Neither is the locality thing or if they use their own language. Juries should vote for the best song. It’s quite simple.
In my case, I respect a lot if the singer wrote the song or was involved somehow. I like authenticity.
Different perspective I guess.
And to me, going local really matters. And yes language or culture as well.
I respect all of those things too. It doesn’t mean I would give them bonus jury points.
I don’t know bonus but in a rank system, any little thing can make a difference and might be important.
Most of Jurors don’t think like that though.
This will not last long ’cause their next year’s track will take the first place 😉
It’s a fine enough track, enjoyable but not on repeat for me. That being said, knowing this has more views than any of the Kirkorov tracks makes me happy.
Oh, get off your high horse. If you’re calling this artistically superior to “Toy” I don’t know what to tell you. I already have enough problems with people acting like anything that isn’t a somber ballad is garbage.
finally somebody said it. I’m over people calling toy ‘that chicken song’. Like I’m sorry I didn’t know you were the decider as to what is quality or not, smh
You’re perfectly within your right to not like Toy. I don’t like it either. But being rude about it like this isn’t necessary.
Eurofans don’t want to admit troll acts are an important part of Eurovision, which is about having fun.
I know “Allez Ola Olé” was used for French TV coverage of that years’ World Cup. Is it still used/remembered by football fans? Might explain how it has so many views (Like “Nessan Dorma” is associated with the 1990 WC for UK audiences).
That’s not just a UK thing, he performed it for the whole world. It launched the Three Tenors!
I dont remember allez ola ole being used as a football anthem that year.
Don’t forget the sublime Argentine Melody (Cancion de Argentina) which the BBC used for their 1978 coverage. It was written by Andrew Lloyd Webber (5 ESC 2009), and we still hear it from Ice Cream vans all over the UK (www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS-tWRRlM2c)
Good for them. Not pretentious, just fun like some people hate about Eurovision. Snobs are eating their hats.
We should be thankful Eurovision 2020 was cancelled then. “Uno” winning Eurovision + Will Ferrell’s Eurovision movie would have been too much for a “serious” contest. If we are entering the 2nd dark age I’m stepping out of this sinking boat.
IF that’s gonna happen, I’ll swim to the shore and watch it sink from a comfortable distance.
Amen sir, get on the door Jack, there is enough space for both of us this time lol
I much prefer the Italian (2017, 2019) way, which is catchy AND witty. It really seems like Russia could have been the runaway televote winner. I know I’m very much against the current jury voting.. but this year… yikes. haha
Yes Russia could have been the runaway televote winner, and maybe winner because juries like also their song. They are 4 th with juries in Germany,Austria, 9th in Sweden in tv show about Eurovision 2020.
I imagine the vast majority of views are from Russians so wouldn’t have won the televote…
134,000,000 viewers is almost Russia’s entire population.
Which is 60 million more than any other country in Europe
I think they would have won televote. Maybe not in a landslide over Iceland or Lithuania but felt likely.
They did very well in all those Nordics votings. I guess Anglos would have been voting as well. Brits or Aussies love this kind of entries. They are the hardest market for Russian entries. And we know Eastern Europe would be there.
Talent won!
Jessy Matador is the only french entry of the top. Nice ! Deserved a better place in ESC. Lot of beautiful italian songs in this top 🙂 and obviously several from Sweden.
The song is titled “Uno” so it’s only fitting.
