Five more acts are set to take to the Söngvakeppnin 2023 stage on Saturday for semi-final 2. Each of them is eager to make it all the way to the grand final and from there to Liverpool as Iceland’s representative for Eurovision 2023.

It’s ultimately Iceland’s decision on who will make it through, but we are always willing to hear your voices. Who is your favourite to qualify?

Scroll down to hear the competing songs and to participate in our poll.

Competing songs for Söngvakeppnin 2023 semi-final 2

As before, all acts must perform their song in Icelandic for the semi-finals, so here are your Icelandic versions to choose from.

Kristín Sesselja – “Óbyggðir”

Langi Seli & Skuggarnir – “OK”

Sigga Ózk – Gleyma þér og dansa”

Silja Rós & Kjalar – “Ég styð þína braut”

Úlfar – “Betri maður”

Poll: Who should qualify from semi-final 2 of Iceland’s Söngvakeppnin 2023?

You can vote for as many songs as you like, but you can only vote once. So make sure to choose wisely, for there is no going back once you’ve submitted your vote.

Show details

Semi-final 2 kicks off at 19:45 GMT (20:45 CET) on Saturday 25 February. It will be hosted by Unnsteinn Manuel Stefánsson, Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir and Sigurður Þorri Gunnarsson.

Two acts will qualify to the grand final. Exactly who that is will be entirely down to the public. Following both semi-finals, a jury may then choose a wildcard act to become the fifth finalist.

Who is your chosen one? Is the ultimate winner emerging from semi-final 2? Please comment your thoughts below.

All of them are really, really boring. I almost fall asleep while playing them all. Is this supposed to be called music?

voted only for Silja Rós & Kjalar – “Ég styð þína braut”in my opinium also the best choice for liverpool, because more silent songs will be rare there.
if they can get the fairytale voices and the mystic mood of that studiosong 1:1 on the stage, the chances to win are very high.

🙂

The level is terrible either way. I want Iceland to do well but this is not the way

I have to agree with the majority in this case – Silja Ros & Kjalar, and Kristin! Ulfar is the back-up option. I’m hoping for a great show, and the stronger semi between the two.

Silja is the first pick for me – feels the most stage ready (can already visualise the camera shots). Then I honestly want to see Langi Seli & Skuggarnir join them – a bit of variety, and a song that makes me smile (even though I think it’d benefit from a revamp just to give it a liiiiittle bit of variety towards the end).

Silja Ros & Kjalar here for me, but the results of this poll suggest that I need to give Kristin some plays! Celebs absolutely need that wildcard

silja ros and kjalar are iceland’s only chance to qualify at the moment… but only with the icelandic version of their song! it just loses all of its charm in english. “together we grow” sounds like a fertilizers company’s slogan!

I didn’t follow this selection at all but Silja Rós & Kjalar’s song is really lovely. Hope it goes through 🙂

First !!!!

For me, top 2 :

. Silja Rós & Kjalar
. Kristìn Sesselja

Wildcard :

. Celebs OR Sigga Ozk

I very love Silja Ros & Kjalar, its very catchy at the end, sweet ballad & its very emotional, voices are very good also !

It’s my favorite for Iceland with Dilja & Kristin.
