It’s that time of year when we’re all getting into the festive spirit by preparing for Christmas and New Year. Amongst the food and presents, music often forms a big part of the holiday period.
Luckily for us, a plethora of Eurovision stars have taken time this year to release some new festive tunes that we can add to our Christmas playlists.
As you gather around the tree and enjoy the holiday, here’s a selection of the new Christmas songs from Eurovision artists that will help you celebrate the yuletide.
New music from Eurovision artists: Christmas 2025
Toby Gad feat. Sam Ryder – “Holy Night”
To warm up our hearts, we begin with a beautiful, emotional collaboration between music producer and director Toby Gad and the United Kingdom’s 2022 representative, Sam Ryder. Toby recently released a Christmas album called Piano Diaries, featuring collaborations with various artists.
The ballad recorded by Sam for this album is an original piece that highlights his outstanding vocals and delivers a track that surely brings tears to our eyes. Created during a writing session with Toby and Sam, the song was inspired by one of Sam’s own memories of loss, becoming an open letter to the people who are no longer with us and whom we miss deeply, especially during this time of year.
The song carries a strong gospel vibe, beautifully reflected in its lyrics: “Everybody awakes / To a world of wonder / And dark didn’t break us / The spirit takes over / Everyone sings hallelujah / To the ones no longer in our lives.”
Lucio Corsi – Notte di Natale
Next on the list is a song from Lucio, who represented Italy at Eurovision this year. The track proves once again that soft voices can deliver some of the most powerful messages. It carries a festive 80s vibe while also embracing a classic Italian sound. According to Lucio, the song was written back in October together with Tommaso Ottomano, a close friend and longtime collaborator, who also joined him on the Eurovision stage. Speaking about the message of the song, the lyrics capture so many emotions that awaken around the Christmas period that the track becomes suitable both for those who enjoy the holiday and for those who do not and simply need a comforting song “On Christmas Night” and not only.
The lyrics are, all at once, about sadness, nostalgia, and the passing of time, but they also bring a spark of optimism by speaking about the healing power of love. The moon becomes a main character in the song, a whole symbol of hope in the darkness, as the song itself starts as a dialog with it: “White moon, what are you doing in the dark?” The lyrics speak about the desire to share emotions with someone and about finding comfort and safety: “Sometimes sharing the pain / Is better than being alone in peace / Soon it’s going to snow (…) / A cold wind blows in the pub’s parking lot / Grab a cloud, you need it as a scarf.” The lyrics touch on the topic of family, but also on the passing of time: “Every time my heart breaks in two / When I come back home and find everything the same / Except for mom and dad, who keep getting older.” Even if time is described as “a train lost in its own thoughts,” on Christmas Eve it can slow down, because “At Christmas, no one dies.” The comfort and healing come from love which, even if described as a little pebble hard to find in the darkness, brings the same hope as the moon shining in the darkened sky: “And you/ You are that little pebble / In the endless darkness / That I kept searching for. / I never understood love / But then all of a sudden / She came to find me / On Christmas night.”
The music video is not without meaning either, being filmed in Antica Trattoria Ambrosiana in Milan. Lucio grew up around his family’s restaurant in Maremma, and after moving to Milan, he visited this trattoria often. The people in the video are the real owners and customers of the restaurant, who eventually became like a family away from home. The music video is not a standard Christmassy one with decorations and festive dinners, instead, it carries a message that even if you are sometimes forced to be away from your loved ones, it is still better to find people with whom you can share your emotions, a “chosen family.” The final scene is also deeply metaphorical: Lucio sits at a table, sharing his emotions (through singing) with another person who had been sitting alone before. In front of them sit two elderly men playing cards, symbolizing both the passing of time and the people who, for various reasons, are not spending the holidays with their families but still find comfort in each other’s company.
Lucio said about the song:
“It’s a story (perhaps a love story) set in the cold December wind, in that sad atmosphere that I like, typical of the Christmas period. The song features a moon, a star, a cat, a dog, the cold wind in the pub’s parking lot, a cloud used as a scarf, a mother, a father, and time, which is nothing more than a train lost in its thoughts.”
Edurne – Navidad junto a ti
Edurne, who represented Spain in 2015, is now ready to bring us a Spanish Christmas with her new album “Christmas with You.” Carefully prepared months in advance as a special gift for her fans, the album features eleven tracks that mix unreleased original songs, beloved covers and plenty of warmth, making it impossible not to slip into the Christmas spirit. To celebrate the release, Edurne has planned signing events and televised appearances, so keep an eye out for festive live performances. If you are searching for a Christmas love song, “Siempre es Navidad junto a ti” (“It’s Always Christmas With You”) is a perfect seasonal love anthem dedicated to the people who make every day feel as beautiful as Christmas itself. Alongside this track you will find Spanish versions of classics like “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” and “White Christmas,” as well as a variety of original Spanish Christmas songs and English covers.
Edurne said about her album:
“One of my lifelong dreams has always been to have a Christmas carol album, like the ones we listen to at home every winter. It’s my favorite time of year, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.”
Tina Karol – “Вогники”
Tina, who competed for Ukraine in 2006, now returns with a Ukrainian-language song that sets the perfect tone for the Christmas and New Year season. The title, which translates to “Lights,” fits beautifully — through this release she truly shines, spreading joy and warmth around her. And if you haven’t started playing Christmas songs yet, this is the ideal moment to begin. The track serves as the soundtrack for the Ukrainian Christmas movie The Guardians of Christmas. Tina appears in the film’s final and most emotional scene, where viewers are welcomed into a magical Christmas fair filled with snow, dancing, hugs and a rare feeling of warmth — something everyone in Ukraine misses deeply and deserves to feel, not only during the holidays but in everyday life.
Tina shared more information about the movie:
“‘The Guardians of Christmas’ is a film that restores faith in miracles, inspires, and reminds everyone how important it is to be close to our loved ones, especially in such dark times. Let’s support each other, multiply goodness with faith in our hearts! I hope that my appearance in the film, as well as the soundtrack to it, will add positivity and mood on the eve of our beloved Christmas.”
Elena – Crăciunul e IUBIRE
Elena enchanted the Eurovision audience back in 2009 with her performance for Romania. And by now we all know that Christmas is one of her favourite seasons — a time when she never fails to treat us with carols and festive songs. This year is no exception. She returns not with just a single track, but with an entire album, Christmas is LOVE, featuring 13 songs entirely in Romanian for a fully authentic experience. While some songs carry the warmth and charm of traditional Romanian Christmas music, others bring a modern, playful festive mood. The album opens with “Colinda Crăciunului” (Chirstmas Carrol), a bell-filled carol that sets a classic, comforting atmosphere, evoking the feeling of a Christmas spent surrounded by loved ones. Many of the tracks center around the birth of Jesus and the figure of the Holy Mother, reflecting the deeply spiritual nature of Christmas. Elena, whose father is a priest, naturally brings a strong connection to this theme. “De la cer la Pământ” (From Sky to Earth) tells the story of the Nativity in Bethlehem.
Yet, the album also includes songs designed to make you move, such as “O Simplă Melodie“ (“A Simple Song”) and “Moș Crăciun la Radio” (Santa Claus on the Radio). Several previously released and beloved Christmas songs are featured as well — including her hit “De Crăciun” (On Christmas), which returns to dominate Romanian radio playlists during the holiday season.
Elena includes several collaborations on this album, featuring a diverse range of artists. Among them are folkloric singer Grigore Gherman on “Îngerii colindă sus” (The Angels Are Caroling Above), Adi Cristescu and Uddi on “Polul Nord (Brrrrr…)” (North Pole (Brrrrr…)), a playful track about someone who keeps you warm even in the coldest places, Ame on “Moș Crăciun ASAP” (Santa Claus ASAP), and Iuliana Beregoi on the festive favourite “De Crăciun” (On Christmas).
Elena also released a music video for the album’s closing track, “Eroii suntem noi” (We Are the Heroes), filmed in the Maior Gheorghe Pastia Theater in Focșani. The song carries a powerful message about self-worth and courage, reminding listeners that people do not need superheroes, they are their own heroes, capable of saving themselves and those around them: “We still have a heart/ A soul/ A tear/ A smile/ A love/ I wonder why we search for superheroes/ When we are the heroes.”
Lindita – “Oh Christmas”
Lindita, who represented Albania in 2017, returns this Christmas with a modern pop carol that captures the feeling of a “blue Christmas” and the longing that often comes with it. For anyone experiencing a touch of sadness or nostalgia during the festive season, this song offers a comforting sense of relatability, while its strong pop energy keeps you moving forward without letting you sink too deeply into your emotions.
Go-Jo & salem ilese – “Merry Christmas from Australia”
Not all Christmases are white and snowy, and Go-Jo, who represented Australia in this year’s Eurovision, is here to bring a warm Christmas wish straight from the Southern Hemisphere through his newest duet with American artist Salem Ilese. The song delivers a unique blend: it sounds like a carol, yet carries a distinctly summery vibe.
If sweater weather isn’t your thing, this track playfully asks: “Why don’t we spend December in Australia?/ Have a second summer holiday.” Australia becomes a sun-kissed, ever-warm paradise where Christmas cheer still finds its place: “The one thing I like frozen/ Is the cold one I’ll crack open/ While I’m getting tanner than I was in July/ Right beside a palm tree covered in lights.” And even Santa adapts to the climate, with the lyrics assuring everyone that “We’ll see Santa on a surfboard/ Riding a wave instead of a sleigh.”
According to Go-Jo—and the behind-the-scenes clips he shared on Instagram—the tune was partly crafted using Tim-Tam packs and a Vegemite jar, with these iconic Australian snacks also appearing in the lyrics: “A cuppa full of milo and a Tim Tam slam/ If you don’t like Vegemite, I’ll understand.”
Justyna represented Poland twice, first in 1995 and again this year, and for this Christmas she gifted her fans two festive tracks. The first one, “In the Silence of the Night,” is a well-known classic—Poland’s version of “The Quiet of the Night”—delivered as an energetic flute-driven song with a sweet, snowy sound that captures all the festive magic unfolding during Christmas night.
The second track, “Jesus’ Lullaby,” is a Polish carol she has performed in previous years, perfectly suited to her voice and warm delivery. With these two releases, Justyna invites everyone into the enchanting world of traditional Polish Christmas music.
The star’s full festive album will drop on 3 December.
Blas Cantó – “Desierto en Navidad”
Blas was initially selected to represent Spain in 2020, when the contest was cancelled due to the pandemic, and he returned in 2021. His newest Christmas song comes with a festive visualizer filled with holiday decorations, and in it he shares his wish to spend Christmas in the desert, where he could see the stars more clearly and escape the cold season. The track will be part of his upcoming EP, NOEL, which is set to be released soon. Get a preview of the Spanish Christmas vibe with the joyful tune.
Sofi Marinova – “Коледа”
Sofi represented Bulgaria in 2012, and her new song “Christmas” shows she is ready to claim the crown as the queen of Christmas with a beautiful carol that reminds us of the season’s magic, the joy of having loved ones close, and the warmth of sending a Merry Christmas message to the world. The chorus says: “Merry Christmas everyone!/ The love of all loved ones,/ Is our greatest gift!/ Merry Christmas, cheers,/ Merry Christmas everyone!/ May we be alive and healthy/ Is our most desired gift!” The music video also embraces the festive spirit and completes the song’s joyful atmosphere.
Douwe Bob & Miss Montreal – “Please Just Come Home”
From the Netherlands we have Douwe, who competed in 2016, and this year he returns with a heartfelt duet alongside Miss Montreal. Their song is a tender ballad about being miles apart from the person you love, and what better reason to rush back to them than Christmas? The chorus says: “Even though we’re a thousand miles apart/ I could pack up my bags and get in the car/ I can make it just in time tonight/ To kiss you under Christmas lights/ Please just come home cause I need you here/ We shouldn’t be alone this time of year.” The track is filled with warmth and longing, and the music video matches it perfectly, glowing with Christmas decorations and ending on a touching note that celebrates the joy of being reunited with family.
Natasha St-Pier – Contes et chants de Noël
Natasha competed for France in 2001. She delivers a full Christmas EP called Christmas Tales and Carols, featuring three little tales and three Christmas songs. Get ready to step into a magical, fantastical world and feel like a child again as you listen to stories about the charming world of little animals. Then celebrate with three tunes that will make you smile and dance, because Christmas is the perfect time to leave our worries behind and enjoy the simple things — just like children do.
Dami Im – “O Holy Night”
Dami represented Australia in 2016. For this Christmas, she brings a jazzy cover of a true Christmas classic. The song was originally French, called “Cantique de Noël”, composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847 and based on the 1843 poem “Minuit, chrétiens” by Placide Cappeau. The first English version appeared in 1855, written by John Sullivan Dwight. Although this is one of the most covered Christmas songs of all time, Dami Im manages to infuse it with her unique voice and the jazz sound we love so much from her, giving the song a completely fresh vibe.
Paula Seling & Ionut Fulea – “Ce Minune Mare”
Paula Seling represented Romania twice, both times with Ovi, first in Eurovision 2010 and then in 2014. Her Christmas track, “What a Great Miracle,” is a duet with folkloric singer Ionuț Fulea. The song delivers light, joy, and hope, challenging Ionuț to a slightly modern take on a Christmas carol. The music video is full of Christmas cheer, showing people enjoying the simple joys of life. The lyrics include references to the nativity in Bethlehem, a common theme in authentic Christmas carols: “It’s snowing, what a great miracle/ It’s snowing, the star is rising above/ It’s snowing, and in our carol/ We want to bring you the news at the window.” A little inside? The music video of this song was filmed this year, but in March.
Paula added about the song:
“‘What a Great Miracle’ is a song about the beauty of the white season, about the excitement of small miracles, and about the sincere joy of simple things.”
Saara Aalto – “Joululahjalista”
Saara represented Finland in 2018 with her Christmas song “Christmas Wish List.” It’s a serene ballad where her warm voice can melt any heart, no matter how cold. The song carries powerful lyrics about Christmas wishes that go beyond material gifts and aim to heal the soul: “No one would be left alone/ No wars would break out/ You wouldn’t have to be afraid/ And there would be a friend by your side/ No injustice would win/ Only love would remain here/ This is my Christmas gift list.”
It also reflects the shift that happens when you grow up and realize what truly matters: “As a child I thought it was the best/ Those gifts, toys under the tree like that/ But now I understand that packages aren’t enough/ They don’t heal the soul that suffers.”
Despite this awareness, the song affirms Saara’s enduring belief in goodness and hope, showing that as long as hope burns in your heart, you can get closer to what is truly valuable: “I’m going to believe in good again, like I did as a child/ Maybe the truth can only be found when you don’t give up hope.”
Ulrikke – “Når jula banker på”
Ulrikke, who was selected to represent Norway in 2020 before the contest was canceled, recently released a magical Christmas carol called “When Christmas is knocking at the door.” The song feels like a warm lullaby, comforting like a gentle embrace, and is perfect for audiences of all ages. It brings love, emotions, and a reminder to cherish the important people in our lives during the holiday season.
No Angels – It’s Christmas
No Angels, who represented Germany in 2008, are back with a festive album of 15 tracks filled with Christmas cheer. The album features beloved covers like “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town,” “Santa Baby,” and “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” alongside original Christmas pop songs. Created with laughter, joy, and even some tears, the album celebrates Christmas, music, family, and friendship, especially the bond between the four pop divas.
The girls said about their album:
“This album is a shared moment that showed us how much love is still inside us, in the music, in everything. ‘It’s Christmas’ stands for friendship, trust, and that feeling of having created something together again that will last.”
Vesna – “Štědrý den”
The beloved girl group Vesna represented Czechia in 2023. They are getting us into the festive spirit with “Christmas Eve,” a track that feels like a modern carol with perfectly blended harmonies. Their mini-album KOLEDY will be released on St. Nicholas Day, December 6. While the first song brings a touch of Christmas cheer, the girls promise that the album is also for those who aren’t particularly into Christmas—or, better said, especially for them.
Emmelie de Forest – Kisses for Christmas
Emmelie, who won Eurovision for Denmark in 2013, brings her fans a festive treat with a Christmas EP of five tracks. The album opens with the title track, a perfect Christmas love song, while “No Man but a Snowman” explores the darker theme of being alone, accompanied only by a snowman. “My Favorite Things” carries a Lana Del Rey–like mysterious carol vibe, followed by “Snow,” which continues the gloomy winter atmosphere Emmelie creates. The EP closes with “Christmas Time is Here,” a slow carol reminding listeners of the light and hope that persist even through the coldest winters. The title track is an original, two tracks are classics from the 1960s, and the final two are lesser-known gems from the same era, all reimagined with Emmelie’s signature touch, while keeping their vintage glow.
ela. – “Weihnachten zieht wieder ein”
As part of the band Elaiza, ela represented Germany in 2014. Her new song, “Christmas is coming again,” is an optimistic track filled with good vibes, Christmas lights, and tinsel. The cheerful energy ela brings in the music video is contagious.
The song reflects on how fast time passes and acknowledges that some things about Christmas can be kitsch, but that’s exactly part of the magic. The lyrics encourage everyone to open their hearts to the season: “Hard to believe/ It’s that time of year again/ Everything is full of this kitsch/ But that’s exactly what makes it special/ Come together!/ Every year around this time/ Hearts are colorful, the kitchen is loud/ Christmas is moving/ Into the whole house again.”
Maria Haukaas Mittet & Lars Bremmnes – “Den tida nu på året”
Maria, who competed for Norway in 2008, joins fellow Norwegian artist Lars Bremmnes in a festive duet, “This Time of The Year.” The song is warm and serene, perfect for cozying up with a cup of hot chocolate during the cold season. Their harmonies create an incredible sense of comfort, while the gentle guitar and piano accompany a Christmas journey that feels both intimate and magical.
Fyr og Flamme – “Den Allerførste Jul Uden Dig”
The Danish duo Fyr og Flamme, who represented Denmark in 2021, return with “The Very First Christmas Without You,” a song that radiates a wonderful 80s Christmas vibe with delicate bells and heartfelt sensibility. In the second half, the track shifts into a groovy sound, adding a modern twist to the nostalgic feel. This is their third Christmas carol, written on a spring day a year and a half ago, and they are now ready to embark on a Christmas tour, presenting themselves as “your favourite preachers” singing gospel songs and spreading festive cheer.
The duo said about their new release:
“Christmas can mean many things, and like two large barrels can be a catalyst for whatever is stirring deep inside, good or bad. Angels, lovers’ sorrows and hearts in the snow. Those are the songs we love to write! We have decided that we ourselves want to influence what Christmas will mean to us, so whatever sorrows and joys it may bring, one thing is sure and wise: No Christmas without Fire and Flame. With the song, we are expanding our Christmas catalog again, and we hope that in a couple of years we will be able to sell an LP full of original Christmas music for our concerts.”
Tim Schou – “Hjem i december”
Tim, who competed for Denmark in Eurovision 2011 as part of A Friend In London, returns for the festive season with “Home in December,” a warm and jolly Christmas carol celebrating the joy of returning home to family. Featuring a kids’ choir, bells, and Tim’s comforting voice, the song captures the perfect holiday spirit. This is Tim’s first Christmas release and his very first song in Danish, created in partnership with the Julemærkefonden association for charity.
C21 – “Maybe This Christmas”
Søren Bregendal, formerly of the boyband Lighthouse X which represented Denmark in 2016 and now part of C21, brings a charming Christmas track with a romantic vibe. With lyrics like “My favorite season/ And you are the reason/ (…) Maybe this Christmas is time for me and you,” the song perfectly captures the feel of a rom-com soundtrack, making it ideal for confessing your love over Christmas, perhaps with a bunch of cardboards at the door, à la Love Actually.
Mihai Trăistariu – “Tot ce vreau de Crăciun”
Mihai, who represented Romania in 2006, returns this Christmas with “All I Want For Christmas,” an emotional ballad celebrating love as the greatest gift. With his signature flawless high notes, he pours all his emotions into the performance, perfectly capturing the song’s heartfelt message: “All I want for Christmas/ Is to be together/ No gifts…/ No miracles…/ Just to gather some love.”
The Flying Bumblebees feat. Jan Johansen, Janne Schaffer & Barnkörer – “Tusen Juleljus”
We close this first part of our Christmas special with Jan, who represented Sweden in 1995, joining forces with The Flying Bumblebees, Janne Schaffer, and Barnkörer on “A Thousand Christmas Lights.” This retro Christmas ballad, complete with a rock guitar solo, proves that any music genre can become a festive song, and they deliver it beautifully.
