(I have a day off).”

It blends humor, frustration, vulnerability and reflection into one strong message. “I’m just a girl at a waxing salon/ And I spent all my money/ To fix what is wrong/ Like my mother before me/ Her mother too/ We just pull at our skin/ To be liked by a dude,” in the lyrics she focuses on exaggerated beauty standards, the constant pressure to look perfect, the pain and money poured into fitting in, and how this cycle is passed down through generations. Later, she tackles women’s health, especially the way invisible illnesses are often dismissed or overlooked: “And I’m just a girl in a waiting room/ At a doctor’s office finding the truth/ That my body’s a mystery, a laugh in my face/ No funds for a research to make me okay.”

We end this week’s round-up with Marcel, who represented Romania in 2009 together with Monica Anghel. This week he released a new collaboration with Cornel Palade, a well-known Romanian actor.

The song is about a woman who drives you crazy — the kind of love that makes you feel like you’re dying a little inside every time you see her. The music video continues the story from “Ah, Neluțo,” released two months ago, where the same woman plays with a man’s heart only to take all his money.
