Lighthouse X are keeping it simple with the staging of their song “Soldiers of Love”, basing it on their winning performance from Dansk Melodi Grand Prix.

The trio keep their classic boy band performance style, starting with a close-up of lead singer Johannes, before showing the full band.

The mature boy band are dressed all in black, looking slick in leather and denim, bringing an edgy style to their wholesome boyband looks.

Unlike other countries who have brough, holograms, projections and dancers, Lighthouse X keep it simple, relying just on a dynamic background of blue lights, and the trio’s natural charisma, with off-stage backing singers beefing up their sound.

They add some flair with lit-up microphone stands that viewers might also remember from the trio’s winning performance at Dansk Melodi Grand Prix.

Lighthouse X take advantage of the Globen stage design, taking a stroll along the catwalk, before ending on the small square stage in the audience.

The final run-through of the song tested a wall of golden fireworks, adding an emotional lift to the climax of the song.

I was so bored by this when I first heard it. But now it is fast growing on me and I look forward to hearing it.

I see 12 possible qualifiers out of the 2nd round; unfortunately, this ain’t one of them. They’ll finish where Anti-Social Media finished last year.

Although I agree that not every song needs LED effects, dancers or whatever. BUT Denmark’s song and the performance (like this) are just not good enough to make it a deserving qualifier. Next.
Btw, I personally liked the review video, it’s interesting to see opinions differ.

William, what’s with you and the bukkake?! :)). You mentioned it in another video, I initially thought I misunderstood, and now again! Keep it in your room, not in Eurovision, like the rest of us! ;)). Not to mention the sperm reference in one video. Just so you know, I draw the line at gokkun, you mention it just once and I’m out of here!!! :))))

I really hate when I don’t know what to say about certain entry. For example, I can like or dislike something, but for this one I just don’t feel any, but any emotions.

I think Denmark is on the road to miss the final again.

They probably borderline qualify out of singer’s charisma, but the song is bland. I expect this to finish 20-26th.

If having blue or red all around every single staging weren’t enough, now a lot of countries are using the typical golden firewall in their performance (Denmark, Israel, Azerbaijan, Switzerland, …). The stage designers seem to have run out of ideas.

Denmarks entry is beyond lame with a lack luster performance, this hurts my soul.

I like Denmark this year (as usual, except last year) but after a few listens the song can become a bit flat and repetitive but the harmonies are good and I like that the staging is simple…I’m getting bored of LED holograms and optical illusions. After Ireland’s pretty bad rehearsal yesterday I can imagine that the boyband votes will swing in Denmarls favour, this could qualify in 10th place, especially with Germany and Norway voting and uk and Ireland, who generally give high marks to Denmark.

This review was tough to watch.

For me Denmark has a good song that is pleasant to listen to. William is only hating it because the staging does not blow him away. His sexually offensive allusions are completely ridiculous and telling at the same time.

Anyway, all those over the top stagings bore me a lot. If I were blind, the only left for me of the performance was the song itself. And for that, Denmark ranks pretty up there on my personal charts.

I find this song quite annoying.

When their boy band didn’t went in the Final last year, why would they go in the Final this year with equally stupid song?

They said that they were going to make the Eurovision stage explode, but I don’t see any explosion here! Simone or Anja would have been so much better!
