Just as it did last year, Slovenia’s national broadcaster RTVSLO will once again use their Evrovizijska Melodija (EMA) national final format, with this year’s 19th edition taking place at the end of February. RTVSLO has today revealed that a total of eight finalists, not 12 as originally reported, will be competing on the night. That’s one more than last year. You can see the full list below.
Up to a maximum of 6 acts were invited by RTVSLO. The rest were selected by a jury panel from a song submission process, which took place late last year. The jury received 145 entries, the second highest total in EMA history.
EMA 2015 Finalists
Alya feat. Neno Belan
Clemens
I.C.E.
Jana Šušteršich
Maraaya
Martina Majerle
Rudi Buchar
Tim Kores-Kori
EMA 2015 will employ the same voting format used to select Maja Keuc in 2011. The eight finalists each perform their entries, before the juries evaluate and rate each one. The two songs with the highest sum totals advance to the EMA super-final. They will then perform again and the televoting public decide the winner.
What do you of this year’s line-up? Who do you want to represent Slovenia in Vienna?
Hey, Martina’s back. It’ll be interesting to see what she can do with a song where she is the main artist.
MARAAYA OMG!!
I think composer of Martina Majerle song is Andrej Babic from Croatia.
Jana Šušteršich is one of past members of serbian group Neverne Bebe, she lived so many years in Belgrade , capital city of Serbia.
Rudi Buchar – Competed at last year’s EMA national final.
Jana Šušteršich – Current winner of Slovenia’s Got Talent.
Tim Kores-Kori – Band member of In & Out, who finished 3rd on Slovenian X Factor in 2012.
Ayla’s a Slovenian pop singer.
And I assume I.C.E and Clemens were the ones chosen from last year’s open submission.
Songs aren’t out yet at the moment Pat, either to be revealed later or on the night.
8 acts but no songs ????
The only 2 I’ve heard of are Maraaya and Martina. Who are the other 6?
