He may have flopped at Eurovision, but Tooji’s been on the up ever since – a trajectory which looks set to continue with the release of his latest single, “Money”.
“Stay” was the embodiment of Scandi-pretty-boy pop, but post Baku the Norwegian singer has stood out for his refusal to stick to the formula. His back catalogue is an eclectic mix of genre spanning tracks, covering topics as varied as gang culture and his mother. Saade he ain’t!
“Money” is perhaps his most daring effort to date. A head-spinning mix of the American deep south and Nordic pop sensibilities, it’s effectively a sonic blast direct to the brain. Between the layered vocals, the ringing cash registers, the “money, money” hook and the foot-stomping beat, y’all won’t forget this any time soon. And of course it’s got a message too – the clue is in the title. Now if only he’d hurry up and drop his long awaited album. We’re getting impatient!

Tooji’s First YouTube Vlog (NSFW)
Not content to merely work on new music, Tooji’s now dabbling in the world of YouTube vlogging. He uploaded his first video last week, a cheeky review of “Dragon Age”. Word of warning, you might be best to view this at home… unless your work colleagues are appreciative of computer generated bums and nipples (NSFW).
Tooji – “Money” Lyrics
All we need is money
We slaves are slaves for money
Money, money, money…
I need a new house
I need a new beat
I need to change the colour of my limosine
I need a new face
I need an upgrade
I need a new smile
Matching up my new shade
Be a hot shot
Hit a new scene
Fill my cup, be the cover of a magazine
I need a fresh start
I need a new me
I need to find my way back to reality
Even if I get all the things that I want
Even if I buy all the things that I need
Holler for the dollar (x2)
Even if I get all the things that I want
Even if I buy all the things that I need
Holler for the dollar (x2)
You better work that
Money, money, money…
I need a call out
Shead my heart clean
Break loose want out from this money stream
My happiness but a price tag
Live to work
Work to live
What it all about
Even if I get all the things that I want
Even if I buy all the things that I need
Holler for the dollar (x2)
You better work that
Money, money, money…
You better work that
Money, money, money…
Heya, heya ….
Hey, hey…
All we need is money
We slave
You better work that
Money, money, money…
Yeah we slave
You better work that
Money, yeah

@ESCaddict Really? If you’re looking for 100% glowing reviews, I suggest you go read some press releases. We’re Eurovision news with attitude -deal with it!
Why was it even necessary to mention Tooji’s “flop” at Eurovision when reviewing his latest song?
I loved Tooji’s Stay but this thing is horrible,I couldn’t even listen to it untill the end.
@ESCaddict where was I being bitchy? I said he flopped at Eurovision – that’s a fact, anyone who finishes on the lower right hand side is considered a flop whether you like it or not. And the rest of the article is completely positive. You need to lighten up, and quit the little “holier than thou” act. I’ve seen several of your comments before and let’s just say they’re far from “nice”. 🙂
Y’all don’t worry about people’s feelings, do y’all? Tooji put in a good performance at Eurovision so he can stand proud. He didn’t get a lot of points but that is no reason for y’all to rub in the salt. Sprinkling compliments amongst the bitching’ doesn’t get y’all of the hook. Try being nice, y’all.
