The Wiwi Jury – our in-house panel of music unprofessionals – is loving Melodifestivalen 2015. The song on repeat on our playlist today was Samir & Viktor with their rap track ‘Groupie’. Did we love their swagger or hate on them like shady jaggers? Ready on to find out!
Samir & Viktor — “Groupie”
Billy: Who told these kids they are talented? I hate their song so much I wish someone choked them with the selfie-stick. It reminds me of the human stupidity, and the selfie-thing. I also don’t get the presence of Conchita at the backround. And Viktor looks really lost, doesn’t he?
Score: 1/10
Angus: ‘Groupie’ is freaking catchy. Samir & Viktor bring Melfest to PART-A city. Like who doesn’t wanna knock back some shots and hit Stockholm with them after seeing the performance? This is about the fun factor. The holographic blocks are also kinda rocking my world, how do I get in on the final groupie?
Score: 6.5/10
Bogdan: First time I saw Samir and Viktor performing “Groupie”, I wasn’t sold (read: I hated it), but after I saw them again in Andra Chansen, I could understand why they got a second chance. The song is okay, y’all. You don’t need to speak Swedish to understand what they are singing about and it’s pretty catchy. The main downfall (and it’s a pretty big fall) is that vocally they are a bit of a mess. But I can certainly see this become a radio hit in Sweden, if it hasn’t already.
Score: 5/10
Deban: Yes, Samir and Viktor are packing in twink appeal. However, they’d be fools to think that their “Groupie” entry is likely to advance further. The perfect soundtrack for a drunken stadium brawl – this shouty number appeals to the hooligan in you.
Score: 3/10
Robyn: Twin Twin might have been the first ESC act to take an on-stage selfie, but Samir & Viktor are taking things to another level by introducing the concept of a groupie. Musically, the song veers towards the twee folk-pop style that’s really overdone these days, but the duo’s natural charisma, cuteness and the joy of the song lift it above just being a novelty song.
Score: 6/10
William: I’d call this my guilty pleasure, but I don’t feel any guilt. I know that they can’t sing, let alone sing while “dancing”, but I don’t care. Their energy and charm is perfect for this song, which has a catchy riff and a feel-good spirit. I’d do a groupie with them any day of the week…
Score 7.5/10
Padraig: A just about passable performance, which will totally flop once the six person rule is enforced. Because the “groupie” will be culled. There are already too many dancers, and that’s before you factor in backing singers. And believe me, these boys will need vocal support. They’re basically an over-preened, non-twin version of Jedward, but with a worse song.
Score: 4/10
Denise: Yum… No Denise, focus on the song please! This song is a guilty pleasure… Their voices aren’t good but the great staging and the fun they’re having on stage are making me forget their voices inmediately. The little boxes look awesome and without understanding Swedish, we all know what the song is about because of the staging.
Score: 6.5/10
Ron: This guys are kinda lame on stage, looking like kids that were thrown on stage at the last minute. The song is fun and nice (nothing too deep of course), I like the cubes on stage and the atmosphere, but it’s just nice and that’s it. For me, I just like the feeling of it and the fact that it’s in swedish.
Score: 6/10
Sami: They might not have the best live vocals, but they really know how to make people smile. The song is such a feel-good one and I really like to jam to this. I know it doesn’t have any chance to win the whole thing, but I’m really glad they are in the final. One of the songs to play in the summer for sure.
Score: 8/10
Wiwi Jury Verdict: 5.35/10

The selfie stick really annoys me, but the song’s grown on me. Don’t want it to win though.
I love this entry. The song is an Uptempo, fun, and catchy.
The show is almost perfect and i love it in swedish.
At first i was not that excited 4 this but now…
Oh Boy….! It has grown on me much! <3 🙂
As a song alone it might not be that really good BUT…
The performance manages to lift up the song as it is so much fun and entertaining! <3 🙂
4 / 10 4 the song
10 / 10 4 the performance! <3 🙂
I have a crush on Samir..! <3 What a beautiful hottie babe he is… 🙂
His partner Victor is fine & handsome babe too 🙂
If the Situation and Pauly D were Swedish, it’ll be them! They come across as Jersey Shore dudes who wants to have a great time. Even though the song is a guilty pleasure, I prefer Norway’s pizza loving duo (another joke entry) over them.
