The 10 qualifiers from semi-final one have been decided, but we won’t know the scores and rankings until the full results are announced after the grand final. But looking at the iTunes charts across Europe can give a big clue as to which songs are sticking with viewers – and three very clear favourites have emerged from the first semi-final.
Thanks to the very useful Eurovision-2015 Tracker, it’s possible to see at a glance how the class of 2015 is faring in iTunes charts around the world. After semi-final one, three songs have proven to be hot favourites, each charting in 17 countries.
As of Tuesday evening, “A Million Voices” iTunes success includes No. 1 in Belarus, 2 in Russia and 3 in Estonia and has also charted in the former Soviet nations of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. “Rhythm Inside” is No. 1 in both Armenia and Belgium and in the top 40 in six other countries. “Goodbye to Yesterday” is No. 1 in Estonia, and is top 10 in Greece and Finland. Does this chart domination indicate the top three from the first semi-final?
The next three positions are taken by overall favourites Sweden, Italy and Australia, and then two non-qualifiers from semi-final one prove to have a bit more popularity than their placing in Vienna would suggest. “Walk Along” is charting in six countries, including No. 3 in Tajikistan, and “The Way You Are” is charting in five countries.
Most unexpectedly, “I’m Alive” is No. 144 in Mozambique, having been No. 1 earlier in the week. Is someone in the Southeast African country a fan of Elhaida?
The rest of the chart is pretty ordinary, with most songs from semi-final one charting in their own country and one or two others. Despite creating one of the most memorable performances from the semi-final, “Beauty Never Lies” is only charting in three countries, with the highest chart position being No. 87 in Greece.
At the other end, “I Want Your Love” seems to have only impressed Swedish listeners, managing No. 147 in that country’s chart.

Nobody can be totally sure until the final performance. To tell the truth,I also believe that Russia was the best in the First semi-final.I would like to emphasize on the great performance-and the message in the lyrics-by Serbia. So glad that GREECE made it to the final-I hadn’t believed it would happen until the moment Maria-Elena went on stage.
I am going to finish by wishing the best of luck to all the remaining participants. It is a competition, somebody must be First, somebody last but the worth of everybody’s effort is the same…Music should unit us all…
My top 3 of the night was Russia and Estonia and F.Y.R. Macedonia
Please vote ALBANIA elhaida is amazing she deserves to winnn. Please makes our dream reality. She will do even better in final she has amazinnngg voice look at her performances on the VOI she is greatt vote ALBANIAA.Go Elhaida!
I feel with the Dutch fans. Walk Along was one of my early favourites, I even listened to it yesterday on the plane many times and then I even saw the ESC aircraft…. I even chose my name in honour of the Dutch this year. I am really sad now.
What an amateur report 🙁
I suspect Serbia is more about shock factor than music
They all should finish in top 5 in final.
I hope Belgium continues to soar <3
Well in a way i like more Vienna’s Vision that last year Copenhagen’s Vision…
It is just that i live.experience, feel more the 2015 edition that i did the 2014 edition..
Denmark’s contest had its own beauty & was special in its own great way but overall Austria’s contest is just better in my opinion..
Well in countries that not many people buy music from itunes it is possible for a song to sell so few copies and manage to enter in charts & especially in high places..
We were joking the other day about a song that was in i tunes charts of a country…And we were saying that it charted just because 5 whole people bought the song… 😛 hehehe…
Belgium may in fact be a dark horse.
You are very optimistic…obviously Russia won the semifinal, and will be top 3 at the final. How boring…
But yeah I 100% believe they’re the top 3 in the 1st semi. I think it’ll be 1. Russia 2. Estonia 3. Belgium. Russia and Estonia will be separated by less than 5 points and Belgium will only be slightly behind them.
Give it time I think, maybe within the next couple of days + in the aftermath of the Grand Final will we see a lot more countries start to chart in more diff countries. I only say that because I refuse to believe a song as poppin as Bojana’s is only charting in 3 countries lol. But I’m so happy for Loic/Elina & Stig/Polina, charting in that many countries is such a great achievement yay them 🙂
