During its eight appearances at the Eurovision Song Contest, Georgia has experienced its highs (ninth place in 2010 and 2011) and lows (elimination in 2012 and 2014). But from blind singers with moving messages to edgy women battling smoke machines, Tbilisi always makes an impression. Below are five artists who we’d love to see channel Georgia’s fighting spirit on the Eurovision 2016 stage in Stockholm.

1. Katie Melua

Born in Georgia, Katie Melua and her family moved to Northern Ireland before settling in England when she was a teenager. The starlet announced her arrival in Britain in 2003 with her debut album “Call Off the Search”, which topped the UK charts for six weeks before going six times platinum. In 2006 she was the United Kingdom’s best-selling female artist and Europe’s highest-selling female artist. Having sold more than 11 million albums and one million concert tickets, she has nothing left to prove. Perhaps that will give her the freedom to take her unique and astonishing voice to Eurovision on behalf of her Motherland? In interviews she has said that she is proud of her British citizenship, but still considers herself Georgian.

2.BERA

The son of a Georgian billionaire, Bera Ivanishvili is known to his fans simply as Bera. He’s classically trained on the piano, drums and violin, and counts Ray Charles, Tupac and Michael Jackson among his musical influences. All of that feeds into his sound, which melds pop, hip-hop and R&B. Born with albinism, he’s a huge star at home, but has a growing profile abroad, too. He hosted the VMA 2014 Pre-Party with Chris Brown and Pia Mia.

3. Tamta

Tamta is a Georgian-Greek pop star. She took part at the Greek national final in 2007 with the song “With Love” but didn’t manage to win. She’s also claimed publicly that her record label wanted her to enter Eurovision in 2015 over eventual Greek contestant Maria Elena Kyriakou. In any event, she’s immensely popular in Greece, not only for her voice, but also for her modern outfits and ability to serve STYLE. A native of Georgia, she’s a coach on the Georgian edition of X Factor. Georgian Eurovision fans always shout Tamta when discussing possible entrants. Will she finally make our day and say yes?

4. Nini Tsnobiladze

Nini Tsnobiladze is a Georgian singer who finished as runner-up on the Georgian Edition of The Voice. She recently recorded the song ”Down” with Nina Sublatti, which became a huge hit in Georgia.

5. The BearFox

The BearFox is an experimental Georgian band. They say they take inspiration from all that’s natural — animals, birds, human relationships, true friendships and a genuine love of music. Lead vocalist Mebo Nutsubidze participated in the Georgian edition of X Factor and after that The Voice of Ukraine.

So what do you think? Who is Georgia’s best chance for a win at Eurovision 2016? You can vote for as many acts as you’d like, but you can only vote one time. You can also write in the name of another artist if we left them out.

Whoever Georgia sends they will be better than this year. Nina & that song were terrible. If only the out-of-control smoke machine could have cut out the audio too.

I would like to hear more from The Bearfox. I respect Georgia for sending “Three Minutes to Earth”. I like something different. Let’s try something different again.

The BearFox, that´s all.
Eurovision needs more real music, anothers generes and styles and national culture and less divas and pink colour

I vote for Valery Meladze too. Is Katie Melua even interested in Eurovision?

For me one more time Sofia Nizharadze (Eurovison 2010) for Georgia 2016, or singer Valery Meladze who made big career in Russia but was born in Georgia.

@ Yeah…The results are already known to the person that makes the video with the score board..
But im not in rush…I haven’t listened to all the songs of the final so i didn’t manage to vote myself unfortunately..
Of course im gonna hear the songs before i watch the video with the actual results & the winner..

Georgia’s song that i have already listened ROCKS.. <3
It is a hot favorite to win the WiWi Vision..
But i suspect that other songs like the ones of Hungary or Belgium will be crowned possibly as the winners instead…We will see..

@Tom according to William Lee Adams, wiwibloggs have counted verified all the votes, but they are still making the result video.
But I understand you, it has gone almost two weeks since the voiting ended.

By the way.. To vote tactically 4 anyone is not fair.. We know that Georgi’as song rocked & its our #1 favorite.. If we all started vote tactically in order to support our own favorites this would cause a mess.. What if in WiWi Vision the users that would had the best songs that would be hot favorites 4 the victory tried to sabotage their opponents’ songs with not voting them on purpose just to increase their own chances of winning?? I would prefer 4 my GreAtY song to end up being underrated like hell like it happened unfortunately with… Read more »

GEORGIA suffered from a catastrophic flood weeks ago in Tbilisi.. Numerous people died & drowned in the wild waters.. The national zoo was evacuated & all the wild animals were unleashed free in the streets of Tbilisi.. A tiger even killed a man sadly…Coincidentally the spot that the deadly attack occured was the central square of *Heroes*.. Really unfortunate that all the wild animals like this tiger, wolfes, lions, bears were shot & were killed by police when they could all had been saved instead.. So ridiculous that last year after Conchita’s victory in Copenhagen’s Vision & the catastrophic flood in Serbia a… Read more »

I can see GEORGIA winning the Vision in the near future 🙂
Since Georgians still have never won the EuroVision it makes sense to think that they can come victorious in the years that are about to come if they work it out & send a winning material song..
Unfortunately this year their entry *Warrior* WAS winning material song but they failed…Anyway..
I predict Georgia winning till 2020 or until 2025…It won’t take 4ever before witnessing this country getting crowned champion of Europe 🙂

So unfortunate that at least Nina didn’t beat the all time best result 4 Georgia with finishing like 8th…
She deserved a top10-5-4-3 result…What a waste 4 a GreAtY song that *Warrior* was..

Xcuse me, but Tamta debuted in Greece, built her carier in Greece, became famous in Greece, most of her songs are in Greek and available ONLY in Greece and Cyprus In Georgia ,she is famous only as a judge at the XFactor. Even, her new single Unloved was supposed to compete in the greek NF.So don’t make dreams Georgians. Tamta wants to represent Greece in Eurovision .You didn’t even knew of her existence 2 years ago. You may think of Helena or many other artists, but Helena released songs both in Greece and Sweden and actually debuted in Sweden with… Read more »

Georgia’s a country that I really want to see win soon, so hopefully they can get an outstanding act and bring the contest to Tbilisi. I’ve loved their 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2014, and 2015 acts.
