Every year hundreds of aspiring pop stars upload their songs to SRF’s online Eurovision platform, and we spend months asking ourselves WTF?! But amid the sea of crazy there are always a few gems that advance to the next round of Switzerland’s national selection for Eurovision. One of our favourites is Vincent Gross with “Half a Smile”, a dreamy guitar number that’s all about turning that frown upside down. Ahead of today’s Expert Check in Switzerland, wiwibloggs caught up with 19-year-old Vincent to talk about his song, his video, his love of Eurovision and working with Charlie Mason (he of “Rise Like a Phoenix” fame).

My top pick–BARELY–above Elias Bertini. Singing next-to-last should work to his advantage. In fact, he, Patric and Abdullah, and Rykka (2 of whom I expect will make the cut) are singing in the final segment.
I love his song and he seems excited and lovely!
Good luck.
