The goosebumps were there with Hovi Star’s second rehearsal of “Made of Stars”. The initial problems from the first rehearsal had been sorted out, giving Hovi Star the perfect setting to deliver an emotional performance.

The spinning hoop acrobats were still there, but their movements had been sorted out, with smooth, controlled spinning, easily followed by the cameras.

The general camera angles were also smooth, helping to create the dreamy world of “Made of Stars”. The atmosphere was aided by the LED images of stars, almost creating a three-dimensional feeling under Hovi’s feet, giving him the appearance of hovering in space.

Hovi’s vocal performance was also stronger, showing he was able to deliver a big, emotional performance.

The final run-through of the song included a golden pyrotechnic curtain, adding to the bold explosion of the song, and suggesting that Israel will again be qualifying from its semi-final.

This performance was absolutely the best today! Classy, beautiful and stunning -just like Ukraine.
Dear Hovi, we would thank you for those goosebumps you gave us today. 12 points from Poland #TeamHoviches

i wish him very good luck!
i hope that he will break the bad luck we had at years ending in 6
1986, 96 and 2006….
it’s very difficult to get a full impression of the rehearsal as the recording isn’t so good… i feel that the acrobates aren’t doing good to the song… and please vote as you feel with no politics…..

This is actually a great song, sung by an accomplished singer…just lose the human hula hoop, it detracts from the singer/song. Simplicity is best.

yes i’m israeli, but it has nothing to do with the fact that i love hovi’s song and i think that his song perfect, i’m not always liked Israelis song’s at the eurovision for ex: i didint like moran mazor at 2013…. so stop talk nonsense please………….

Finally a smile 🙂 I know everything you wrote about – Hovi and Michal being friends, etc.- and I really like it. And they BOTH have wonderful voices. I hope people will appreciate their songs because such ballads are easily called boring – as you noticed.
Peace 🙂 and good luck to both Hovi and Michal 🙂

@OR: No, I’m not Israeli, I’m from Spain. But I loved Nadav last year and this year I love Hovi even more. (See, I’m Spanish but I don’t get that excited by Barei, this year I’m with Israel and France).

Messages of peace, respect and equality will never get boring, guys. We’ve been listening to bloody boy-meets-girl-love songs for ages and we didn’t get bored of these neither, so saying LGTB messages are boring by now is a bit offensive as they are more important then ever, but hey, I don’t really care what haters think.

Anton, this is how it supposed to be. LGBT messages become something usual, and homophobes stop to notice gays and forcus on their own life. If you can see it’s getting that way, I feel glad for you.

For your information i love micha from Poland, he and hovi are good friends, they both have quiet ballads, so u its easy to say “boring” about quiet song!!.. any way i wish hovi and micha to make it to the final because they both amazing vocalist and singers and more important great personalities.. micha is a good friend of Israel and he also have fans here… so sending you peace 🙂

It’s just way boring. And all these LGBT messages will not work anymore, because it’s becoming the very common thing.

Best male vocal for sure. Uncertain about the the hoop thing, not necessary as the vocals and the overal usage of the LED panels/floor are enough. The first sure qualifier in this semi.

Oh, it didn’t take you too much time to find who is my fave so that you could use “Poland” in your “objective” comment. So now we’re even? Two most boring songs this year – Poland and Israel. Ha ha.
Do you people sometimes let others have THEIR OWN opinions? I appreciate Hovi’s voice though but you didn’t even notice that. You are allergic to the word “boring”.

The vocal was extremely impressive. Hovi was fierce!
The first two minutes did not give me a lot to look at though. Having heard the song a few times, I found myself switching off.

I would not expect that to be an issue for first time listeners as the staging does not take away from Hovi’s voice.

My only problem with this song is that it builds up too late. It gets exciting from “WE ARE……..WE ARE WE ARE WE ARE”, but the first 2 minutes is getting boring.
It looks like Israel will deliver the most they can make out of this song, we will see what position will they reach. Top 15 is a possibility.

This is my opinion (TIMO)

Hovi perfect vocals!! perfect song!! my winner!!

@Erin if you watch the video from the first rehearsal, you’ll hear that he reaches that note without a problem. I guess its not easy for him to do this every time so he’s saving his voice. Pretty sure that during the live show he won’t have a problem

If y’all get the wax out of your ears just this once and stop idolizing Hovi like your own mothers, you’ll hear him desperately failing to inflect the pitch of his voice to reach those high notes during the final chorus’ modulation. Everybody can hear he is really struggling to convey what he really wanted to there. I’m sure Hovi will be the first to admit it wasn’t perfect, with him being the ultimate perfectionist (by his own words). As far as how the act is shaping up to be, The spinning wheel duo adds to that intergalactic planetary 3D… Read more »

Perfect staging I think. With the pyros it’s breathtaking. I dare say another top 10 for Israel is possible and with a good draw in the final – this could do better than Nadav.

“Opinions are divided” is pretty senseless comment… of course there are different opinions, it’s music, it’s eurovision, opinions are actually most probably ALWAYS divided, some like this others like that. There would be no competition if one song was loved by everybody. Tstststs.
However, we love you Hovi, your voice is amazing, your song is great; you are our winner!

Ticktack

@Or – Well, I just voiced my opinion 🙂 Should be legal no? Boring if we all liked the same music.

If you are Israeli (you might be, given your nick), I am sorry if I hurted your “patrotic feelings” in some ways. Truth is, I often loke the Israeli songs. Songs like “Time”, “Hailaila”; “at ve’ani” and “Hora” for instance – maybe all in my alltime top 100.
