She secured her place in the final on last night’s results show and saw her odds of winning X Factor UK 2016 narrow yet again.
But on Monday — just days before she heads off to Wembley Arena for the final weekend of the series — Saara Aalto flew to Helsinki for her X Factor homecoming.
Hundreds of excited fans greeted her at Helsinki Airport, waving posters with her name, Finnish flags and bouquets of flowers as they shouted “We love Saara!” and chanted her name.
The X Factor crew were there to capture every moment. This is going to make such sweet viewing.
Saara, who was visibly moved by the love and support from her fans, seemed overwhelmed as she greeted a mob of reporters who brayed at her with their microphones, dictaphones and notepads.
The former Eurovision hopeful shared a snap on Instagram showing her in the middle of the chaos, adding the caption: “Back in Finland!! It was insane and so great to see all those people at the airport! Can’t wait for the evening!! Nähdään Senaatintorilla klo19.”

The Finnish-language bit of her post explains that she’ll be appearing — and presumably singing — in Helsinki’s Senate Square from 19:00 local time, which you can see below.

Howdy! Would you mind if I share your blog with my facebook group? There’s a lot of people that I think would really appreciate your content. Please let me know. Many thanks
She deserves to win! Should she make it to the final 2, I wonder what she should pick as her song of the series
There is only one way someone can go from the bottom 3 on a weekly basis to the finals, and that is by busting your butt and working hard to win the vote. Props to her for making it
Im so happy for Saara 🙂 I dont really care if she wins or not now (even though I would wish that for her). In many ways winning doesnt always mean most successful after the contest. If she does go on to win I hope she will have a great team around her to make songs for her – songs like the ones she has been performing during the show – a mix of crazy fun Power pop songs and serious emotional Power vocal songs. I think a defined career direction will be easier both for Matt and 5AM at… Read more »
wow so much love now that she is…popular in UK!
Saara needs a great song though, a big voice can’t do much without a massive song!
Remember, have ‘No Fear.’ 🙂
Saara… get you tousch back here and into the the rehearsal studio right now…
Go, Saara, slay! <3<3<3
