Nathan Trent continues to captivate us with his stripped down, acoustic covers of various Eurovision songs.
After serving his delightful takes on “Heroes” and “L’essenziale” over the past two weeks, he’s now mesmerising the public with his unique spin on one of last year’s fan favourites — Amir’s “J’ai Cherché”.
Amir — a French dreamboat who took his nation back to the Top 10 — will be pleased to see Nathan pay homage to his song, and in such a classy way. It’s “J’ai Cherché” like we’ve never heard it before.
Even though “J’ai Cherché” was somewhat low key, one could still bust a move to it. Nathan takes it down another notch, and lets his voice and his feelings carry the song.
French might not be that easy to speak, let alone sing in, for a non-native. But Nathan proves once again that he can work that tongue beyond his native German and his fluent English.
We are definitely feeling this version!
There is still one more cover to go. What will Nathan do next week? We don’t know, but we can’t wait to find out. The boy loves singing, and we love him for doing it.
Kyiv is only a week or so away for the contestants and Nathan is probably packing his bags as we speak, and ready to fly to Ukraine to start rehearsing for the second semi-final.
What do you think about Nathan’s cover of “J’ai Cherché”? Is he melting your hearts like Amir did? Will he run straight to the finals, or run out of air before then? Comment down below.
Hope wiwi is getting paid a lot by italy and austria delegation to promote them every day
Amir likes it.

A duet, guys?
i luv this guy so much. if you want him in the final, you gotta vote for him
i will be voting for him a lot
Nathan deserves to be in Final.
I hope he will be in the Final and I will vote for him.
The next one is “Alive” by Elhaida Dani (Albania 2015). Four songs were chosen by the fans on the official ORF facebook page. I just can’t wait for it!
This is possibly my favourite one so far!
I like this version a lot. Nathan looks so adorably when he’s trying to put a dramatic expression on his face.
While I much preferred his L’Essenziale cover last week, this one was great too. His vocals are really good and he’s got lots of charisma so I don’t doubt that with a better song (even if I like Running on Air quite a lot) or place in the running order (why must you forsake one of my favorites, Bjorkman?) he’d be a certain qualifier.
I just love Nathan!
He is a genuinely nice guy with a great voice and charisma – similar to Amir last year.
I really wish for him to make it to the finals which will be very hard given the lack of diaspora/ friendly neighbour votes and the bad starting number Christer assigned for him.
However i am optimistic that he will win over many more people. He deserves to be in the finals…
if you called charisma putting your hands on your chest, giving a rictus grin and nodding a lot
I love this song sooooo much, my last year winner <3
And very good cover by Nathan
The “tu as tué la peur” part is a bit dufficult if you don’t speak french!
Bautiful cover! And his french is just great for a person who doesn’t have french as his native language! Well done Nathan!
Looking forward to the last one!
Nathan is this year Amar , he cover so many song from eurovison singer from past contest.

Such a lovely accoustic version of J’ai cherché. It’s very nice of you to have sung in my language. Your way to pronounce the R, the rolling vowels and your austrian accent = Perfect Combo of Cuteness
