In the Republic of Georgia, competing at Eurovision wins artists the stamp of national approval and cements their place in the country’s entertainment industry.
And on Friday three artists — Sophie Gelovani, Nodi Tatishvili and Nusta Buzaladze — reminded us of that fact when they performed during the grand final of Dancing Stars, Georgia’s answer to Dancing with the Stars.
Bathed in purple and blue light, Nodi and Sophie reprised their Eurovision 2013 song “Waterfall” — the Thomas G:son-penned song that took them to the grand final in Malmö.

Once again, the power duo worked a wind machine, which sent Sophie’s billowing dress aflutter. But unlike in Sweden, they sang without the overdose of pyrotechnics.
Georgia’s love for its Eurovision stars isn’t limited to those who actually make it to the contest.
Rising star Nutsa Buzaladze, runner-up in Georgia’s national final for Eurovision 2017, reprised her song “White Horses Run“.
Nutsa, famed for winning New Wave, competing on The Voice of Turkey (O Ses Türkiye) and dazzling on Georgia’s Got Talent, Your Face Sounds Familiar and Dancing with the Stars, unleashed her nuclear voice on the small stage.
Looking every inch the Georgian goddess, she wore a floor-sweeping white gown with a demure neckline that covered her delicate shoulders.

Nutsa should have gone to Kyiv instead of Tamara. Love both but Nutsa’s song was much better.
