As summer rolls on, and new music drops by the minute, it’s inevitable that some Eurovision tracks drop off your playlists. But every year a few tracks manage to stand the test of time to become evergreens played at home and EuroClub. We want to forecast which tracks from the Class of 2018 will make that list. So on June 12, one month after the grand final of Eurovision, we asked our readers to consult their iPhones and music systems and to let us know which Eurovision 2018 tracks they are still listening to.

After receiving 34,570 votes, the results are in…and our readers are still gripped by a Cypriot heatwave. Yes, Eleni Foureira has won the day with her fiery dance number “Fuego”!

Ahead of Eurovision, Eleni’s red hot track was among our favourites.

Deban was feeling it, writing: “A pop banger that sets your shoes on FIRE! ‘Fuego’ is one of the few tracks that doesn’t need to be remixed for the dance-floor. It is club-ready, and the perfect launchpad for the fearless Eleni Foureira. Arresting, beautiful and unashamedly sexy, Eleni hooks you in and OWNS every frame. She sings, she dances and sashays whilst plugging bananas and collagen supplements. Others have arrived to compete. However, she is here to party and to make her mark —I love her!”

Padraig was as keen: “‘Fuego’ is an unashamed bop. And unlike other uptempo rivals such as Australia, it has no airs and graces about being anything more than it is. Great big dirty dance numbers sung by pop princesses are always welcome at Eurovision, especially in a year filled with dirges.”

Our passion only intensified after Eleni’s first rehearsal.

Eleni came out on top with nearly 9% of all votes. That was nearly twice as many as this year’s runner-up  — the Eurovision winner Netta Barzilai.

Netta’s anthem of empowerment has broken all manner of records — it’s the most-played video ever on the official Eurovision YouTube channel. Surely it will remain on playlists for years to come.

Still not a fan of the song but I don’t actively hate it like I did. During the run up to the contest it was just shoved down our throats constantly so that what was previously an , ‘ok, whatever’ song for me became my second least favorite song of the whole contest.

Honestly, I still listen to Fuego at least once a day. I still love it. And for those who say that this poll doesnt reflect reality, you’re wrong. Look at Spotify, Fuego is the most streamed song of ESC2018 and it’s still climbing. GO QUEEN FOUREIRA.

Nonsense Cas. In our generation of satisfaction right now, spotify streaming is temporary and evaporates as soon as a new quality release of Adel, Bruno Mars and alike – comes out – and then it sends the generic Fuego to the forgettable pile (no more than just a kleenex…). Winning Eurovision though – is forever! This is why we all remember, Liz Asia, Johnny Logan, ABBA, Celine Dion, Lordi, Conchita, Jamala, Salvador and now Netta.

I don’t get the hate comments really. Pop music has always been a big part of esc and a main reason why people love this contest. But whenever a pop song wins everyone is moaning about quality. Let’s make it an opera contest and finish the story!

You are right…. Ayeh Ayeh -Sweden, Ayeh Ayeh – Generic, Ayeh Ayeh – Plastic, Ayeh Ayeh – Manufactured, Ayeh Ayeh – Formulated, Ayeh Ayeh – humm…Forgettable!! What about quality Sweden?

You proved my point Davve, Thank you !! ESC 2016 winner Jamala (no Swedish fingerprint in it), ESC 2017 winner Salvador (definitely no Swedish fingerprint – thanks god!), ESC 2018 winner Netta (no Swedish fingerprint either…). Recent Televote results confirms that Sweden just lost its mojo….
(“Plastic Fantastic” days are over – in addition plastic is bad for the environment 🙂 )

Well. You got something right. People hate on Sweden(why? Jealousy? Not having anything else to do?), but they love songs like Fuego. Which is written and produced by Swedes. I find it very Interesting and ironic. And many countries turn to swedish songwriters and producers to do a song for them. And usually people love these songs. These songs also usually do well in the competition. So this is very interesting. I’m not here to throw shade at anyone. Just a thought. So PLEASE don’t send hate comments to me or anyone else. Spread love and positivity, because it’s what… Read more »

i agree partly about the hating each other part…. but eurovision is not about the fireworks…. and the fact people listen to the studio virsions means they like the song… not all pop songs are trash because if id change the melody of Toy Salvador would have prob like it

I agree with the throwing shade and hate at eachother. Just because you are from a country or if you like a song or just having an opinion. Which I feel like has become worse by each year. And it’s not what it’s about. Eurovision is a way for people , no matter of country, coulture, genre, race, sexuality, gender or religion, to come together and enjoy music(everything that it is.). To celebrate diversity. So think about it ,before you write a comment to hurt someone.

I am still listening to six songs, which are my top six of Eurovision 2018. I’m still deciding on their final positions. Those are the songs from Finland, United Kingdom, Australia, Georgia, Ukraine, and Hungary. For the record, the rest of my top ten are: 7. Israel; 8. Norway; 9. France; and 10. Spain. With regards to the most underrated song, both in this poll and at Eurovision 2018 in general, that has got to be the song from Georgia. Whilst many entries are 3 minutes of adrenaline from start to end, ‘for you’ starts sleepy and just builds from… Read more »

When I look at the result of the poll, I’m telling myself that it is globally what the final results should’ve been globally : France and Belgium in the top 10, Bulgaria and Czech Republic in the top 5, Portugal and Switzerland in the top 20, Greece and F.Y.R. of Macedonia in the top 15 (however, she deserved her result because the studio version was perfect but when it comes to the live version, meh), Austria out of the top 10. However, Ukraine in the top 3 is too high (for me), a top 15 was enough. The only problem… Read more »

Should I tell you something very honest? I love listening to Fuego!!! – but to Helena Paparizou’s version 🙂 Helena’s voice is stronger. This is nothing against Eleni, really, I like her, too. But I listen only to Helena’s Fuego 😀
