She was the runner-up on Spain’s most talked about talent show Operación Trifuno and her collaboration with Ana Guerra on “Lo Malo” became one of the biggest hits of the year. Today Aitana proves she is more than a one-hit wonder, releasing her fabulous new single “Teléfono”!
The Spanish singer has finally dropped her first solo number following her appearance on the casting show. And she definitely caught everyone’s attention as she became the No. 1 worldwide Twitter trend with #TelefonoAitana last night. She’s not playing around!

The track’s message is not to be missed, as Aitana makes it obvious that she’s not giving her ex-lover any further attention. “Today I left my phone not to call you, to forget you” she sings during the chorus. And further along she says that her former lover is only looking for her when it rains and it’s cold outside. Well, boy bye: She’s getting rid of you.
The composition of “Teléfono” fits her style and voice well. The song is similar to “Lo Malo”, yet sets its own tone, too. Fans are favourably comparing it to Julia Michael’s “Issues” and are picking up an Ariana Grande vibe from Aitana’s vocals.
The result is a banger that could become a late summer hit as it’s already up to number one on iTunes in Spain. A music video has also been released, in which Aitana can be seen taking Polaroids off a wall.
Eagle-eyed viewers have spotted the photos are from Aitana’s own Instagram feed, and feature many photos of her time inside the OT academy, as well as her life since as a pop princess.

Y no voy a buscarte
Hoy he dejado mi teléfono
Para no llamarte, para no llamarte, para no llamarte
Hoy he dejado mi teléfono
No voy a seguir, seguir creyéndote
Cierra la puerta, vas a salir ya
Y aunque, la verdad, yo nunca te esperé
Yo ya he estado sola, y sola yo estoy bien
No necesito a nadie
Hoy he dejado mi teléfono
Para no llamarte, para no llamarte, para no llamarte
Hoy he dejado mi teléfono
Hoy he dejado mi teléfono
Para no llamarte, para no llamarte, para no llamarte
Hoy he dejado mi teléfono
Oh, oh, oh
Para no llamarte
Oh, oh, oh
Ah… ah…

i dont like this song. Is boring to me. Bad start aitana.
The YouTube comments is all fans of Aitana who are seriously disappointed at this single. Fair criticism or just Eurodrama?
Expectations are high after the success of Lo Malo.. but on another note, the song is outselling its nearest competitor by 90% on iTunes – clearly the song does have support and fans, wouldn’t be surprised if it reached number one on the charts!
