Music and geography combine together in Eurovision. Fans get to experience a wide breadth of musical genres from each region of Europe. One such little combination is the three Baltic nations – Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia – who each serve a unique flavour at Eurovision 2022.
After holding their respective national finals, each Baltic nation brings us a fresh face for this year’s contest. And we want to know which of the Baltic entries is your favourite.

The Baltics at Eurovision 2022
Estonia: Stefan – “Hope”
Estonia’s national final – Eesti Laul – is known for being a grand spectacle, but this year the Estonian national broadcaster went even grander. The national final consisted of seven shows: four quarter-finals (held in November and December 2021), two semi-finals and a grand final. With familiar faces like Stig Rästa, Ott Lepland, Anna Sahlene and Elina Necayeva, the final was a star-studded event. However, it was the 24-year-old Stefan who snatched the crown with “Hope”. Does Stefan sing his heart out loud enough for you?
Latvia: Citi Zēni – “Eat Your Salad”
Latvia’s national final – Supernova – consisted of 17 songs in total. After first competing in the semi-final, ten songs made it through to the grand final. Eurovision 2015 alumna Aminata fought hard for the chance to appear on the Eurovision stage for the second time. But it was the pop band Citi Zēni who took home the trophy with the funk-inspired vegan anthem “Eat Your Salad”. Do you have an appetite for salad?
Lithuania: Monika Liu – “Sentimentai”
Lithuania’s national final – Pabandom iš naujo! – is famous for being an extended and exciting process and this year was no exception. After three heats, two semi-finals and a grand final, the Eurovision ticket was snatched by Monika Liu with “Sentimentai”. This will be the first song sung entirely in Lithuanian since the country’s debut in 1994. Does the Lithuanian entry make you sentimental?

Close race between Estonia and Lithuania, not a surprise. Stefan has a very competitive song and he is a good performer but the song is a bit unoriginal (still 11th in my top). Monika Liu on the other hand gives us something really special and authentic but hard to sale to Europe. Fortunately, she is a charismatic performer. I place her 10th in my top so I give her the point but honestly both songs are great. When it comes to Latvia it’s a nice funny song, a bit too much in fact. My favorite is Lithuania –and I’d like Monika to win in May, and I have a soft spot for Estonia. Latvia’s song just doesn’t do it for me :/
I don’t actually think Monika will win because I fret if Lithuania will even qualify or not, but I hope for the best.

My ranking of the Baltics:
Latvia sound is very catchy but the lyrics are a bit cringe. Just look at the wiwibloggs interview of Georgia where they start singing the first line of the Latvian song to the female blogger while they are in their bed. Awkward!
My fave is Estonia, but Lithuania is great too! Latvia is enjoyable LOL

You mean the Baltics, my friend. The Balkans are a completely different region. But otherwise, yes I agree with you, especially Lithuania. They deserve to win Eurovision the most one day because they never won before. I don’t think Lithuania will win this year, but keep an eye on them for the future.
Estonia is my winner this year and Lithuania grew on me a lot, so that’s an easy choise.
