Vina Rose is back in the grand final of Una Voce per San Marino in 2023. Her new track “Oblivious” has taken her to the final of San Marino’s Eurovision selection for the second time.
Residing in London but born in Sicily, Italy, Vina was part of last year’s UVPSM final with her song “Sweet Denial”, finishing in a very respectable sixth place. This year, she’ll try to go all the way.
Our Tom Hendryk sat down with Vina ahead of the grand final. They discuss her new song, how she feels going up against artists such as Eiffel 65 and Ronela Hajati, and her ultimate dreams coming true.
Let’s do this!

Vina Rose interview: Una Voce per San Marino 2023
Vina you’re back! Congratulations making the Una Voce Per San Marino final once again!
How are you feeling going into the final this year?
“Hi! Yes I am indeed! I feel great, I’ve spent the last few days trying to keep myself nice and calm, but the excitement and the adrenaline is incredible and I really can’t wait to hit that beautiful stage again.”
What have you learned from your experience last year?
“Yes, I learned that it’s never straight forward and there is always something unexpected coming your way, but I’m up for the challenge. 😉
Like last year, I’ll try not to put too much pressure on myself, but rather enjoy and live the moment.”
Tell us about the song “Oblivious”? What does it mean to you?
“‘Oblivious’ is a song about emotional manipulation that occurs when a manipulative person uses that power to control the other person. I know, it’s quite deep an intense and I love it because it’s honest, dramatic and authentic, a bit like me! 😉 “
Tell us what you can about the staging? Will it just be you on stage or is there some choreography we can look forward to?
“It’s just me again (like last year). There will be some deep video content projected on the LED wall in the theatre during the final, but after that, (if I qualify) who knows? We’ll see! 😉 “
How do you feel going up against acts like Eiffel 65 and Ronela Hajati?
“It’s wonderful. I love going up against artists of that calibre, because I can give the best of me even more and I’m not worried at all. I’m just grateful to be able to meet and share the stage with them.”
You of course live in England. What would representing San Marino in a Eurovision held in the country where you live mean to you?
“It would mean the world to me and it would give me the opportunity to combine my Italian background mixed with the love that I have for England indeed. A love that made me choose England as my second home. It would be a serious and an ultimate dream coming true.”
Thank you for your time Vina and good luck!
