They’re the most successful country at Junior Eurovision with a record three victories. And for their 17th appearance, Georgia is hoping to extend its winning ways with Anastasia & Ranina and “Over The Sky”.

Georgia in Junior Eurovision 2023: Anastasia & Ranina with “Over The Sky”
Anastasia earned the right to represent Georgia in this year’s contest after winning Ranina, the long-running children’s talent show the country has used to pick their Junior Eurovision entrant for six years.
The 12-year-old singer is from Tbilisi, Georgia. She has been singing since she was four years old. Outside of music, Anastasia goes to ballet class and enjoys playing football.
Her song, “Over The Sky”, was internally selected. She’ll be joined by her fellow finalists from that competition, Nikoloz Kharati and Oto Bazerashvili, who will perform as “Ranina”.
What do the “Over The Sky” lyrics mean?

I am absolutely impressed by her voice!
Just like in adult Eurovision, you can NEVER tell what Georgia’s gonna do next. I think this is a fascinating song with (at least in the studio cut) great vocals. It does sound a bit processed so I hope there’s no Yer-Ana effect to this entry.
The progression of the songwriting is a little stale and little stuff happens instrumentally, but I believe it intentional since it highlights the kids’ vocals.
It’s a 7/10 for me. I can’t fully connect with the song, but I still think it’s a really good effort!
Makes me think of Keiino a bit when the boys join it’s very cool, a very atmospheric entry if performed well it will forcefully do very well. Don’t mess with the outfits this time please! Good luck Georgia!

What does the word “Ranina” mean at all? The preselection and Anastasia’s band name are called that, and it is used in the songtext. Any idea of translating it?
