You learned the names 15 of the 16 Eesti Laul finalists back in November. And now, as we rush head long toward Christmas, their songs have finally dropped. You can listen to them below. Scroll down for the songwriting credits.

The following songs were selected by a jury consisting of 34 musical professionals. The 16th act will be chosen by the public in an online vote conducted by Radio 2 in January. Unlike in previous years, Eesti Laul 2025 will consist of just one show — the grand final. It takes place on February 15 in Tallinn.

In a familiar format, the voting in the final will be spread over two rounds. During the first round, both the public and a professional jury will vote. The top three will then advance to the superfinal where the public has the final say.

Somebody please share about lyric three in Tule, all words start with letter L, that’s sounds so special for real.
And then you have five out of six words starting with letter M in one lyric, then four out of five words starting with letter V in another one or four out of four starting with letter K.
Jehhee he-ahoo, SO interesting!
Music really loves the Estonian language.

It’s crazy how much Eesti Laul hit the spot for me this year. I really dig 4 of these songs and I can’t decide who is my winner out of them, the ranking changes depending on my mood, all of these are ridiculously good in my opinion:

-ANT – Tomorrow Never Comes
-ELYSA – The Last to Know
-Minimal Wind – Armageddon
-An-Marlen – Külm (I’m especially excited to see this one live, as I think An-Marlen was quite underrated in 2022)

I’ve only just discovered Tommy. With kaarija co-writer and the arty setting they are constantly learning as a team and growing every year. This year i believe they’ll stage this perfect. Combination of crazy kaarija but technical nemo and combine to woo crowds and jury combined

Pretty damn good selection of songs: if Live they match the quality, cuddos to Estonia!

Estonia in my opinion really only has three options, overall aight selection tho:

  • Tommy Cash
  • ELYSA
  • Janek

Issue is, Cash is gonna get killed by the juries at eurovision and the other two likely by the televote. Especially Janek, really giving Sweden 2018 vibes.

And come on people goin for Anna…. I was listening and my immediate reaction was: “What kinda Swedish schlager melfest reject is this?”. Then I saw the songwriters, explained it all.

First of all: I’m impressed with the effort of all the artists in making a music video! Well done! My favourites are Janek, Tommy Cash, ANT and An-Marlen. Who has the biggest potential to do well? Depends on if there are other entries in the same segment. Tommy Cash will do VERY well in the televoting but not with the juries. Janek could with good live vocals be in the top 5 with both of them? Good luck, Estonia!

When i opened this article i came straight here to the comment section to see which songs are the most popular and which one to listen to first, but damn..everyone is speaking for different ones and there is not consensus about the best ones! Which means only one thing – this selection is top quallity and there is no favourites cuz there is lot of great songs!
Time to listen them all pals 🙂

A strong selection overall. Around 10 songs here are good. My winner is Janek with Frozen, but Tommy Cash with Espresso Macchiato is also the right choice for Eurovision, as it’s perhaps the catchiest song in any NF yet. I also really, really like Ant’s Tomorrow Never Comes!

I was thinking that there were a lot of R&B and generic pop song type entries. I liked
– Felin: Solo Anthem
– Tommy Cash: Espresso Macchiato
– Frants Tikerpuu: Trouble
– Räpina Jack feat. Kaisa Ling: Tule
– Stereo Terror: Prty Till the End of the World
Not necessarily Worlds best songs but memorable.

I don’t care about what people say. Tommy Cash wanted to do something different from what he usually does and delivered. If he goes to Basel, he’ll be a worthy successor of Käärijä, Joost and Baby Lasagna.

my top 2 (after one hearing) are:
Räpina Jack feat. Kaisa Ling – Tule (a really good ethno duet)
Elysa – The Last to Know (sweet ballad with special haunting voice)

further i think that mister cash trys trolling eesti laul.

Ok I heard all the songs, Eesti Laul is strong this year! I have an absolute favorite but there are several options for Estonia imo, my fav is Janek, I love it and I can see this song doing very well in Eurovision.
Anna Sahlene’s song is great too. Elysa and ANT got totally my attention too. Tommy Cash was fun, his song is catchy.
So I would choose Janek absolutely, but I would be happy with Elysa, Tommy or ANT too.
Good selection Estonia! Good luck!

What’s interesting about Janek’s “Frozen” is that this is the most effortless sounding song in the Eesti Laul selection, but it has by far the most challenging vocal to sing live. That’s because the melodies are written so clearly over the break in Janek’s voice, so it puts pressure on the vocal to deliver the song. I find the music is hiding a poignant interpretation of the lyrics, because while the melodic expression is big and bold, the frozen feeling is in the trapped harmonic progression underneath it. (Mørland seems to do that a lot in his songs.) There’s also… Read more »

Great analysis, very interesting thank you, it’s the song that makes me vibrate more than the others, that makes me feel more things than the others and it’s always my main criterion for choosing my favorite. 😉

I listened only Tommy Cash’s song so far and I’m confused, I like it but it’s a bit repetitive.
Last time Estonia sent an entry totally in italian was La Forza in 2017 and got the top 10 so why not but I hear “por favore” in the lyrics, and in italian it’s per favore and in spanish it’s por favor. So por favore is kind of mix of these 2 languages, maybe it was intentional.

I think “Espresso Macchiato” is medicine to the illness of people taking life too seriously. When there is drama and plenty of stuff I can’t post about on here, a song like this comes along and just allows us to let all that go away for three minutes. It’s classic Eurovision.

I thought Tommy Cash could be the second coming of Little Big or Kaarija, but this attempt is disappointedly poor. Where’s the effort?

There’s so many good songs in the lineup, but An-Marlen’s ‘Külm’ is the best by far. It reminds me of Loreen’s ‘Forever’ a lot, dare I say it’s even better. I could see this doing really well in Basel if it’s staged perfectly.

To be honest I can’t see anybody but Cash winning this. In a strong line up it is the strongest one. That kind of fun crazy but catchy entry that only exist in ESC. With crazy staging to match the song I can see it doing well in ESC

I actually don’t mind Tommy’s song given all the hate it’s just it was overhyped. It’s still a good song and I could see it going to Eurovision with funny staging. As for the others, there’s quite a few like Janek that could do well with the juries. There’s very few bad songs. Hard to tell who will win this other than Cash.

What logic do you use when you enter a competition with a poan to finish 7th, and investing 100sK of euros to do that? Wake your sences up! Every country should trx their best if they are already paying huge fees with their citizens money, and audience will have way more fun if countries send strong contendors with winning materials!

WOW! Most of this is gripping, risk-taking music. I love all this! Bravo to everyone involved. Obviously I couldn’t stop laughing at the “Espresso Macchiato” video and that really funny song that goes with it. It’s an instant classic (coffee pun alert), so if Estonia gets it then it’ll do well. But there’s so much talent here. I don’t even know where to start!
