Our latest Eurovision 2025 song comes from Czechia. ADONXS has now released his entry for the contest, titled “Kiss Kiss Goodbye.”

The song appeared on streaming platforms as of midnight local time on Friday 6 March. This was accompanied by a music video unveiled at 17:00 CET.

ADONXS – “Kiss Kiss Goodbye” (Czechia Eurovision 2025)

“Kiss Kiss Goodbye” is a song about reclaiming your power.

During an interview with wiwibloggs in December, ADONXS noted that it defies genre and can’t be put in a single box

He showcased this further at Malta Eurovision Song Contest, where the Slovak singer performed an acoustic version of the song live for the first time.

Broadcaster Czech Television returned to an internal selection process to choose the nation’s Eurovision entry this year. The last time the country went internal was back in 2017.

The selection of the representative was done over several thorough phases. Czechia’s Head of Media, Michal Utíkal, noted:

“The candidates were first decided by a ten-member international jury consisting of five professionals from the field of music production and music composers and five former foreign representatives of Eurovision. The next part was quantitative research with more than nine hundred respondents from three foreign countries. “To ratify the voting result, we conducted another research through a focus group. And ADONXS was the clear winner in all aspects.”

Really like this, so far ahead of most offerings this year, would love a Czech win.

This comment is a request for someone to either ask ADONXS what the official video is about and how it relates to the song, or reply here and attempt to explain it to me.
(I’m perplexed.)

My feeble attempt at understanding… The song is about a goodbye. A shallow goodbye, where the departing person really doesn’t care if he ever sees the other person again. ADONXS has been selected to be humanity’s first time-traveler. He will be leaving today’s society and jumping ahead by a hundred years. Will he be sorry to leave? His life as it is now has been troubled. At the crucial moment of departure, PLOT TWIST, our hero decides to rewrite his story and travel BACK in time instead, to the crucial moment of his childhood where it all started going wrong… Read more »

Thanks very much 🙂

N.B. ADONXS wouldn’t literally become a child again by travelling backward, otherwise travelling 100+ years into the future would have killed him. Or alternatively, travelling back could have killed him and he became a child in the afterlife. Or, does he become the father, saying goodbye to his child self? And what did the dance break signify?

I really loved the acustic version so much and expected the final version to be even better. And now it’s not and I am not dissapointed. It’s still a good song and it will do great. Also, the dance Break takes out a lot of seriousnes away from the song for me. I guess we just have to get used to it. Good luck, Czechia.

Yeah, the dance break section does really feel out of place and random when there isn’t a smooth transition in and out of it.

I listened to it three times. I decided I don’t like the song in most aspects. While music and lyrics are relatively nice; I don’t like the studio version though, neither the concept, or the breakdance scene.

Sorry but this is underwhelming compared to the acoustic version.
Yes, it’s a good song but it’s not giving winning vibes.

I think he is talented and I cannot wait to see him perform the song live.

PS: the dancebreak sounds out of place but I guess it will be a surprise on stage?

I like the song more than the video. The video concept is a good one though not well realized. I’m also getting a slight Musti-vibe…hopefully he can connect on stage. Also not sure if the dance break works in this type of song…not saying it is bad but I just need to get used to it…being challenged by the the Frankenstein nature of the juxtaposition.

Regardless, great job Czechia…really building a strong and credible career at ESC!

I try to like it, it’s a strong entry but probably not for me. That dance break throws me off to be honest, it feels unecessary, like the one Brunete had in “Future Lover”.

I’ve listened it ten times by now, trying to like it but I give up. This song just doesn’t do anything for me… It’s a tad boring. I don’t know if this will stand out. I don’t see it qualifyy

The dance break doesn’t fit well, sadly. But! The rest of the song is so good. And we know Adonxs can SING after his MESC performance. I think this will do quite well.

I have the same feeling song-wise. Muusti was bad vocally last year. Perhaps Adonxs has better vocals on the big night. Let’s wait and see.

We already know he can sing, he has performed this song in a stripped down version during the Maltese pre-selection. And his voice isn’t grating to the ears like Mustii was, and JJ is.

I personally like both songs and I don’t find them similar. Muusti’s vocals were awful last year, when ADONXS already showcased how well he can sing with the acoustic version he sang in the Maltese final. Also he seems to be very charismatic and for that reason he makes the song more relatable, when Muusti was all over the place.

The dance break seems so out of place and unnecessary. Perhaps they have a vision for the staging but in the song it feels random. Apart from that I feel like this is a solid entry, one that will likely make top 10. Should give Czechia a good result.

What’s it with those unnecessary random dance breaks? It’s getting tiresome at this point.

Others than that, the song’s alright, I guess.

i always like to root for Czechia as a Czech-American, but I just don’t see the cohesiveness here. Not to mention very weak lyrically. The vocals are there, but this is a big let down.

I find this more listenable than the Austrian entry, to be quite honest. Neither of them are great songs, both of them cover up their compositional weakness by switching genres multiple times, but I like this guy’s voice a lot more. Especially in the lower register.

I love the voice and it’s really clean and professional but I just think it’s lacking something. I feel like I’ve heard this song a million times before even on my first listen. The only original thing about it is the random dance break. Luckily, that often doesn’t matter at Eurovision as something completely unoriginal with great staging and performance (See: Mans – Revolution) can still end up being the favourite to win. I’d fully expect to see this on the left side of the scoreboard in May, which for Czechia is a pretty great result.

It’s very ESC, that is the genre…
It is inspired by Nemo last year but beats to its own rhytm
If staged well this could work.

I am not talking about vocal performance as much as about the song itself. It takes ages to reach a climax. This makes it pretty unexciting and that always takes away televote points. I wish Czechia good luck. I am not sold but it definitely has artistic value. Let’s see how that goes.

Overall, I like this, but I feel the song might be incomplete, and I have some songwriting questions (sorry). I really like the Pre-Chorus in this song, because the high sighing notes to “youuu” are juxtaposed against the somber lower notes to “you seemed so holy, it almost fooled me.” So there you have the holy sighs above literally being grounded by the truth. This is great. However, it looks like Verse 2 is seemingly cut by two lines. The lyrical transition into Pre-Chorus 2 therefore doesn’t make sense to me. I assume that this extra time was needed to… Read more »

I’m a little worried for Czechia. In this wild and crazy semi final this song feels a little sleepy until the dance break which feels out of place. In this semi a lot of countries have friends and Czechia seems alone on an island. I think oddsmakers will have this top 10, but the televote will have this NQ.

“A lot of countries have friends” which is why we need juries back. In the unlikely event this is an NQ it will be a travesty (Horehronie still fresh in the memory).

I might be in the minority but I don’t mind the dance break as the song is a bit predictable without it. Anyway, a solid entry from Czechia which shouldn’t have any problems to qualify.

The middle dancey bit is weird but it does remind me of multiple Belgian entries that end up being left in the semi final.

Maybe the dance bit will allow the staging to be more memorable than the Belgian entries and qualify. The juries will then love it in the final
