Grab your flapper girl dresses, and LED tube lights! It’s time to go down memory lane, and celebrate the 10th anniversary of Electro Velvet‘s Eurovision participation for The UK! Electro Velvet will appear at the London Eurovision Party 2025 with their camp nod to the Gatsby era, “Still In Love With You”!

The duo have become a bit of a cult classic in recent years. Fans have embraced the unqiue and fun nature of the entry. We’re sure their home crowd will give them a rapturous welcome on the stage at Here At Outernet on April 13th. We want to hear you shout “Sounding good sugar!” from afar!

Don’t forget you can still get tickets for the London Eurovision Party 2025 here, whwere you can see Electro Velvet, as well as plenty of the Class of 2025 and other special guests. We already have Austria’s JJ, Finland’s Erika Vikman and Malta’s Miriana Conte confirmed, among many more of your Eurovision 2025 favourites.

Who are Electro Velvet?

Electro Velvet is made up of Alex Larke and Bianca Nicholas. The British pair represented The UK at Eurovision 2015 in Vienna, with “Still In Love With You”. This was a vibrant and sweet ode to old-timey music mixed with modern elements. The song was a couple’s back-and-forth love song, that was largely famous for it’s light-up performance.

The staging was styled to a Gatsby party, with outfits of that period. But then came the lighting situation! Each outfit had strip lights sewn in, so in the more”electro” parts of the song, Alex and Bianca would light up, to showcase their choreo and set.

Whilst the result wasn’t what they were hoping for in Vienna, they’ve gone on to become a cult classic to UK Eurofans. “Still In Love With You” is a firm karaoke favourite. It is a delightfully ironic sing-a-long session for many; we’re sure Here At Outernet will br full of the crowd attempting the scat vocal section!

What is the London Eurovision Party 2025?

The London Eurovision Party is the biggest annual Eurovision event in the United Kingdom. It is also one of the biggest and most classic shows on the Eurovision pre-party tour. It’s been going from strength to strength over the years, and this year it celebrates it’s Sweet Sixteen edition in style at Here at Outernet in the UK capital, on April 13th.

Here at Outernet is a large concert venue right in the beating heart of London. It is known for it’s artistic styling and modern spaces. The London Eurovision Party will provide an excellent chance for a British audience to see their favourite acts before the contest itself. You can expect to see more announcements coming very soon of 2025 acts, and past Eurovision favourites.

38 (and now 39) comments on Electro Velvet. What. Were they really that divisive? (I go to read the comments…) Ohh, wow, such strong opinions.
Dee dee dee (sounding good sugar).
Other great lyrics include the funniest out-of-context start to a song ever: “Dance… Wellll, don’t get on the wrong train” 😀
And how about those younger guys with roving eyes, hon?

Yes staging was awful, live performance was not good mostly because of Biancas health problems, but noone can deny that studio version and music video were quite good.

Electro Velvet should be made very welcome. For Gollygosh’s sake, people, for better or for worse, they are part of Eurovision history. I think you’ll survive.

I’ve just watched their performance – it feels like it lasts forever! Also – why is there so much standing still for an up tempo song?!

I agree the staging wasn’t great, but Bianca has cystic fibroses, so we couldn’t expect much dancing around from her

Do we need reminding of the 2nd worst act the UK have ever sent? No thanks

NO PLEASE!!
Don’t let these perform at Eurovision party I’d rather put my head through a glass window than ever hear this sickening entry again.
Sleeping on red hot metal spikes would be easier to endure that seeing this again
It’s the worst entry the BBC (not us!) were ever dumb enough to send

I agree! She’s actually a very good singer. I think it’s great when previous acts pop up now and again, regardless of where they placed.

Yeas, but in music it refers to a style of vocal riff where you say short nonsense words very fast. Other Eurovision songs with scatting include Cliche Love Song, and Miss Kiss Kiss Bang
