Earlier this week she auditioned for “Golos”, the Russian edition of The Voice, eventually joining Polina Gagarina’s team
And now, as fans wait to see how she’ll fare in the battle rounds, Eurovision 2015 star Aminata Savadogo has released a new single “Red Moon”.
The song is not currently available on Youtube, but you can listen to it via Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer.
Upbeat and danceable, “Red Moon” strays somewhat from her previous singles “Fighter” and “Love Injected” and wouldn’t feel out of place at the club or the bar. The song makes you move to its rhythm even if you don’t want to.
The tempo may have quickened, but the “Love Injected” vibe still comes through in the EDM sound, soulful feel and flash of the avant-garde.
The lyrics invite you to dance under the red moon — another term for a “full moon”, which is associated with all sorts or changes and transitions. Aminata asks you to take her hand and take her out of this world. And she lets you know you’ll be a criminal if you let her go.
She’s in the mood for love to put it politely: “Just take my hand, touch my waist, those kind of lips I love to taste…”
As ever the strength of this comes from Aminata’s unique voice and her powerful vocals…not to mention the feeling of expensive Nordic production.
The song starts to drag in the final 50 seconds, but we can get over that. The overall result is dark, mysterious and sultry…and we would definitely “dance under the red moon” with Aminata.
So what do you think? Is “Red Moon” as good as Aminata’s previous songs? Let us know in the comments section below…
An attempt in prog is a shot in nowhere I suppose…
