Fandoms often have unique names that distinguish them from the rest. While us Eurovision Song Contest fans often call ourselves Eurofans, sometimes one fandom for all of us just doesn’t suffice.
So, this writer came up with a fandom name for each of the Eurovision 2020 participants selected so far.
Note, they’re not all original. Some of them have already been circulating on Twitter and other social networks.

Albania’s Arilena Ara — Arilenators.
The “Shaj” songstress has amassed quite some support since her song came out in December. Her fans are the Arilenators, of course, borrowed from Ariana Grande’s “Arianators”. Seeing as she has finished in the top two in all of our recent polls, she appears to have quite a lot of Arilenators!
🇦🇱 ARILENATORS UNITE
— gök 💓 #arilenator 🇦🇱 (@pieceofgok) February 24, 2020
Armenia’s Athena Manoukian — Athenians
Athena Manoukian’s “Chains on You” was met with a lukewarm response within the fandom. But Athena does have fans out there, who we like to call Athenians — the demonym for Athens. Following Netta’s footsteps, how about we also call them Manouki-nekos?
Australia’s Montaigne — Montaigneers
Australia’s Montaigne also emerged as a fan favourite in the run-up to Australia Decides. If she still has your support, you’re a Montaigneer — a mix of the words Montaigne and Mountaineer. You also suggested we call them Mr. Mimes, after the Pokémon whose picture Montaigne tweeted before the Australian national final.
Belgium’s Hooverphonic — Hooverphoniacs
Fans of Hooverphonic are Hooverphoniacs (this one’s pretty self-explanatory).
Czech Republic’s Benny Cristo — Cristians or Kemamen
Czech Republic’s Benny Cristo has many Cristians… though former Czech head of delegation Jan Bors suggests we call a fan of “Kemama” a Kemaman (plural Kemamen?) instead.
found out – his ariginal name is Cristovao, I would expect something like kemaman or so 🙂

France’s Tom Leeb — Leebchens
France’s fans are Leebchens (Tom Leeb + Liebchen, a term of endearment).
Italy’s Diodato — Noisemakers
Fans of Italy’s Diodato and “Fai Rumore” (Make Noise) are the Noisemakers
Latvia’s Samanta Tīna — Composers or Tīn-men
As for Latvia’s fandom name, most of you already identify as a Composer – borrowed from the line “life is music; I am a composer”. We had a different idea in mind – a Tīn-man (made up from tin-man and Samanta Tīna)
Lithuania’s The Roop — The Groop or Groopies/Roopies
We like to call Lithuania fans — of which there are plenty — members of THE GROOP. It has also been suggested that they go by “groopies” or “roopies“.
Norway’s Ulrikke — Attention Seekers
Those who dig Ulrikke’s song for Norway are Attention Seekers… no shade intended.
Poland’s Alicja Szemplińska — Emperors
Those of you who support Poland’s entry “Empires” are, of course, Emperors
Slovenia’s Ana Soklič — Water Wizards
“Voda” voters are Water Wizards (yes, we love alliteration).
Spain’s Blas Cantó — Cantors
We also call fans of Blas Cantó Cantors (for lack of a better pun).
Ukraine’s Go_A — Go_A Team or The Church of Solovey
Ukraine has a group name rather than a demonym — we call them the Go-A Team. That’s a mix of the phrases “Go Team!” and “The A-Team”. However, Go_A fans actually seem to prefer the name Church of Solovey.
Let's all agree that the Go-A Team goes to the Church of Solovey

Which name is your favourite? Which sub-fandom are you in? Do you have any better suggestions for group names? Let us know in the comments below!
Roopie!! Member of the group 100%
Proposal Fandom names
James Newman: Divers, Breathers
Roxen: Cherry Pickers, Stormbreakers, Disaster-Rox, Crayons
VAL: Daybreakers, Morning-head, Daywalkers
Ben Dolic: Violent Things
Definitely a noisemaker.
I’m also a Groopie. Once Groopie, always Groopie. Don’t think that any song can change that this year 🙂
?? Member of THE GROOP
I’m both a roopie and in the Church of Solovey.
Also maybe a Kemaman.
I’m a roopie
We stan them all.
——— JOHN NEWMAN!!!! ———
oh my – once again proving that the average age of a Wiwi reader (and blogger) is THIRTEEN!
So true.
arilena ari Albania my favourite to win she is the best xx
All of them!!!??? (but mainly Cantor 🙂
And Ari-(le)-nator would be, if you stan the author of this article 😀
Otherwise I am a Hooverphoniac or maybe just an Attention Seeker xD
Sweden: Döttrar (Dotter, meaning daughter in plural)
This is so fun! I’m a Noisemaker 😀
Iceland:
IVA – IVAngelists
Sweden:
Anna Bergendahl – BergenDolls
Malou Prytz – Ballerinas
Felix Sandman – SandBoys
Denmark:
BEN&TAN – BEN&TAN&FANS
I wouldn’t call myself part of a fandom, like I stopped joining fandoms like 3 years ago (IM SORRY BUT BECAUSE OF EUROVISION EACH YEAR I JOIN LIKE 20 FANDOMS OR SOMETHING) but I’m rooting for Lithuania and Ukraine all the way!!?
Same, gonna vote for these 2.
Athenian
This article it’s too much fun, thank you. XD
I’m a noisemaker (?).
I think we all need to have a goofy fun article every so often so that we can all have a good time, and not just Tear each other up in the comment section.
Exactly!
Cantor means singer in Spanish and Portuguese, so…
I am not surprised that Cantor is a name for fans of blas Cantó because I’ve always made the joke that his name is the past singular conjugation of he/she sang in Spanish.
As someone who is Jewish and has a sister training as a cantor herself, I also found it amusing on another level because the word Cantor in Judaism refers to a religious singer who leads the music at the synagogue
Most ESC 2020 songs have been mid-tempo so far. 🙂
This is really cringe tbh
Haha. I think I’m too old.
I’ll stick to just liking the songs, thanks. 😉
We all know its ATTENTION WH*RES
a t t e n t i o n s e e k e r ??
Would I get down voted if I said I’m a water wizard?
I’m a water wizard too! And I almost thought I’m the only one in the world lol (well apart from the Slovenians that vote for her lol)
The land living muggles won’t understand us
Useless article
Still better than Mello reviews
then try reading a more adult new site that doesnt pander to 12 year old girls and teenage gays
I’m Leebchens, and Proud.
I‘m a member of THE GROOP
I’m definitely a Noisemaker, if I’m able to only choose one of them:-)
I AM A COMPOSERRRR
she’s actually a meme-maker ^^
Next week put an Icelandic flag and call the group “Daddy”. 😉
roopies is very nice – i’m a roopie now!
for latvia i prefer “friends of big hats” or “the sexy bodysuit club”.
church of solovey of course – but there is also a second church named “church of the white angel”.
I declare myself a mercenary, I couldn’t belong to a single team. The ROOP colonized my brain and now I can’t spot a single day when I’m not humming to On Fire. I just adore Montaigne’s song, it gives me goosebumps and I want her to do amazingly. As for Go-A, Solovey brings the quality and uniqueness to Rotterdam. Finally, I have tender feelings for Arilena because she has the best ballad so far -and she was the very first ESC act (artist & song) to be known.
I’m a Groopie, an Attention Seeker, and in the Church of Solovey!
I’m sure that’s true for some, but I fall into the 10-25 range and I like ballads.
Atheniaaaaan
If it was Rabbit Hole for Australia… We’d be the Rabbitons or just the Rabbits
It would be a warren! i.e. a collection of rabbit holes 😀
Cristians is kinda meh, I’d go with Cristobalites 😀
I’m still in the Hatari fandom. I’m not sure why or how this even happened, but the Hatari fandom calls itself “the clown squad”. I’m not sure why but that’s what we are.
Wait, really? That’s what we’re called? Maybe a name change is in order xD
It won’t be easy. The fandom has been calling itself this for months xD …I don’t think the actual band had any input at all. I’m not sure if they even know we call ourselves the clown squad.
“Haters” would probably make more sense but….it’s too late we’re stuck at clown squad now.
What about 0-10? What do they like?
My son is three and makes me listen to Universo about 30 times a day.
I don’t know if that helps. 😉
Junior Eurovision.
A better name for Norway fans would be “Slaying Attention”, a play on words for Paying Attention, but slaying is obvious what Ulrikke is doing with her performance!
It really annoys me that the Arilenators are constantly voting for her in all of the Wiwibloggs polls even though she clearly has a very inferior song. I also don’t care how much the Arilenators are going to downvote my comment. She never should have won Festivali i Kenges over Me Tana in the first place and I still don’t understand why she won.
Same, Me tana would be such a banger this year, perfect for the Summer.
They should be call the Arilenatrolls.
They’re still salty their entry was chosen by corruption
she won because she is super star super talented girl hello can u not see it wake up arilena ari is the best like it or not she is the best so far . sorry haters
Man, if you’d have asked us this in 2019 I’d have a VERY clear answer for you lol
I guess I’m a Hooverphoniac this year, but only because I was a fan of theirs before their album “Looking for Stars” and before Eurovision. So I’m more of “A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular” Hooverphoniac xD
But no matter the year, Hatred Will Prevail 🙂
Church of Solovey ??
Excuse me, but I’m Roast Turkey for life. Long live Dustin, the poultry king!
Ahhahaha, fantastic. 😀
How long ago was that now? 10+ years?
12 years come May. Time flies, doesn’t it? 🙂
Indeed. I just realised that this year is my 30th Eurovision Song Contest, OMG.
attention seeker and a composer also a proud member of the church of solovey
Obv THE GROOP
An Athenian right here bish.
