In 2019, Duncan Laurence won Eurovision with a song about heartbreak. But now he has something much sweeter to celebrate. Duncan today shared the news of his engagement to boyfriend Jordan Garfield.
The pair each confirmed the happy news with posts on their Instagram stories. Duncan shared a simple black and white photo showing a hand wearing an engagement ring. The caption read, “I love you @jordandelivers”.
While Duncan’s new fiancé Jordan shared a bit more of their story on his Instagram. He wrote:
“To those of you who I haven’t spoken with recently, I am the luckiest man in the world. I asked @itsducanlaurence to marry me and he said yes. I have never been so happy in my life. I’m going to marry a kind, smark, genuine, talented and handsome man. I’m also marrying my best friend.”
Duncan’s future husband Jordan is originally from the United States, but is currently based in Stockholm where he is a songwriter. And the pair have already made a musical collaboration — Jordan is one of the songwriters behind Duncan’s new single “Last Night”.
Dutch media reports that Jordan and Duncan have been together since the beginning of the year, but publicly confirmed their relationship in May.

Duncan Laurence’s new projects
And despite not being able to return to Eurovision 2020 earlier this year, Duncan has been keeping busy and has plenty of new projects.
He recently announced a live concert at the Ziggo Dome arena in Amsterdam. The show will take place on 17 November and will fully comply with Dutch covid regulations. The audience will be seated at tables, while Duncan will perform on a revolving stage in the middle of the hall, delivering an intimate concert experience. Tickets are on sale now.
The concert will follow the release of Duncan’s upcoming debut album Small Town Boy. The recording — which takes its name from a lyric in “Arcade” — will be released on Friday 13 November.

Why do so many gay couples look alike?
I’ve one good friend in particular who literally could be his boyfriend’s twin.
No, just personal experience. I know lots of gay couples who look alike.
Tumbler has pages dedicated to “boyfriend twins.”
There are actually several studies that showcase this phenomenon, maybe not in gay couples specifically but about partners in general. People tend to like that which is familiar, and hey, by the end of the day it doesn’t matter as long as they like each other (and aren’t related) .
You must have heard about couples who say that they get mistaken for twins or siblings? But then there is also the matter of couples becoming like each other after having been together for a while. Rhythms intertwine, clothing styles, personality traits, you name it.
Maybe it’s not their faces but your eyes and your brain.
Wow, that is soon! I’d have a panic attack if somebody would do something big like that to me so early.
