She’s the Italian singer who has twice represented San Marino at Eurovision. And now a cohort of fans want Senhit to have the honour of hosting the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

A petition on Change.org calls for Italian broadcaster Rai to choose the “Adrenalina” hitmaker for the gig in Turin.

The petition cites her “mindblowing style” (which we enjoyed throughly in her Freaky Trip to Rotterdam music video series) and her advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community (a reality we have felt first-hand through her endless warmth).

You can read the full petition below.

Change.org petition calls for Senhit to host Eurovision 2022 in Italy

Eurovision is one, if not the greatest musical event ON EARTH!

It’s full of lights, and glitters, and dancing performances, special effects, freakyness, colorfull dresses and of course, lots of drama!

And, therefore, what other better candidate than our beloved Freaky Queen SENHIT herself for hosting the show! But we need your help convincing them, because ‘SENHIT HOSTING EUROVISION 2022 NEEDS TO HAPPEN.

Just think about it! she has got mindblowing style, a sense of fashion, crazyness and charisma, she stands for the LGBTQ+ community, Italy is her nation, so she speaks both in italian and english perfectly, and she was committed to the show SO MUCH during last year with all her cover tributes. Let’s face it, every true fan loves her.

Regardless, I know I’m not alone. Senhit’s fans everywhere have been asking the same questions on her socials and now we finally have the chance to get what we want. Fans want Senhit to host the show. Eurovision needs Senhit hosting the show. Help us. Sign this petition. Let’s make Senhit host Eurovision 2022 official.

Love,
a true fan

So have you signed yet? What do you think about her chances? Let us know in the comments box down below!

announcing the votes must be the one with the best chances for her, plus she’s definitely hosting parties in Turin.

I would like RAI invites Diodato to perform “Fai Rumore” (Eurovision 2020) on stage since he couldn’t.

Grand final would be full with interval acts so Diodata can perform in the semifinals.

I really wonder where the money is from. Because she doesn’t seem to be a big name in the music industry (or any industry) anywhere. So like, how does she pay for all this PR?

I agree with you. I’ve already wondered myself how she managed to find millions of euro to sponsor her Eurovision entry, San Marino’s entry in 2021 + booking Flo Rida + having a well known DJ remix her song + expensive video + sponsored ads and more behind the scenes. She must have been really disappointed with the result but she keeps spending them coins and does not let Eurovision let go so easily as it’s her only project..

I’m still dreaming of Claudia Cardinale, Gina Lollobrigida and Sophia Loren hosting while bit*ing around like Divas… dreaming may be allowed, right?!

The guy from 365 days would have been great to be honest. Having 2 men and 2 women would be cool too.

Guys, stop, not every person who likes attention and cares about ESC is a suitable tv host. That makes about every Eurofan a potential host. The public didn’t respond well to her, remember the amount of points she got despite her performing with a well known artist. She just isn’t as likable as you guys think.

This is a great idea actually! Senhit got the charisma and sass to leave an awesome impression to the viewer but not through change.org, ESC hosts aren’t that important to be a popular (almost 500 signatures) subject on that site

Actually I don’t mind if Senhit hosts Eurovision 2022. She well represents the East African diaspora in Italy since she is of Eritrean descent, and she speaks English fluently – more fluent than she speaks Italian. Maybe if there is ever an MC trio, she can be a third host alongside hopefully Alessandro Catellan and Chiara Ferragni?

She does not speak English fluently more than Italian, wtf? She was raised in ITaly and her native tongue is Italian, not English. Her English is okay but she has thick accent.

So you’re saying her skin colour is part of the reason she should be picked? I think it’s far more important that the presenter(s) have plenty of TV experience under their belt, the ability to think quickly on a live show should something go wrong, fluent English and a good grasp of French and the right personality. I’m less concerned about ticking woke boxes. Whoever they pick I doubt they will be as good as Petra Mede (and I’m not Swedish BTW).

Senhit is lovely and yes she is a fan. Eurovision however is watched by a much larger audience than obsessive fans. Obsessive fans seem to think that the contest is all about them but if they got what they wanted we would have a very specific, chaotic show that would be impenetrable to the casual viewer and unlikely to gain new fans.

We should stop thinking about ourselves and think about the future of Eurovision and making it appealing to a new generation of fans.

No I am not going to sign such petitions. Really Change.org should be used for good, not for satisfying whims. Also, for the most part, I am happy to leave the organisation of the contest, including choice of hosts, to the Broadcaster organising the next contest. They no what they are doing and what is required. While fan feedback is important more people watch the contest than obsessive fans who have an agenda not always rooted in reality.

I am gonna get hate for this but will post it anyway. Firstly, since whenbeing an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community should be a criterion for being a Eurovision host? This is not a gay awards show but a music TV show. Secondly, why on earth would RAI should an unknown person in Italy who is also not a professional host to do Eurovision? Senhit will definitely be part of the local parties in Turin but that’s all. She is not an Italian icon or something! Last but not least, I am really sorry to say this, I cringed when… Read more »

Totally agree. Plus her song for Eurovision was composed and produced by Swedish musicians. She should apply to host Eurovision when Sweden wins the competition next time!

Yeah, it’s not the first time she paid for ads but this time is ridiculous to pay for an ad about a petition your imaginary fan made about you…

Italians have no idea who Senhit is. RAI should choose A-list Italian celebrities to host instead, it’ll draw more Italian viewers and build hype around the contest. Eurovision isn’t widely popular in Italy, so that should attract more Italians to tune in and watch.

oh god, another desperate attempt from San Marino and Senhit to get some media attention and coverage. NO, she won’t be considered to host the show. She competed for San Marino, the country that asked singers to pay 300,000 euros if they want to compete at Eurovision (according to singer Arisa).

Her association with the contest is with San Marino, not Italy. Anyway, I would prefer an actual television presenter got the job – that is their profession, and this is one of the biggest opportunities that their career could give them. There’s no reason for somebody with experience to miss out.

I’m not even joking when I say I think she should at least be part of the on screen production team. I mean look at the passion she has for the competition and her personality is so warm and sweet. I honestly think she would bring such a good energy, even if she was a greenroom host or did interviews with some of the contestants online like Nicki did.

sam

i think senhit would be a great greenroom host. all of her interviews were super entertaining and she’s a really easy person to get along with

Senhit is an incredible person! She is warm, loving, and definitely dedicated to ESC fandom. I think she’d be an amazing choice to host Eurovision 2022. What I do know, however, is that these kind of public ”peer pressures” in petitions usually backfire. Didn’t Lucy Lawless recently said that fans massively insisting that she replaces Gina Carano in The Mandalorian was the ultimate downfall of her ongoing negotiations? So, it’s a good idea, but ultimately it’s for RAI to decide, and for us to respect.
