Since Tuesday, 16 entries have been battling it out in the first semi-final of wiwivision 2015 – our alternative song contest. In just two days, over 2,000 votes have already been cast. Y’all are  clearly hungry for the music, so let semi-final two commence! The country list is the same as Eurovision 2015, but this time the songs and acts have been chosen by the wiwibloggs team. The 17 entries below all want a spot in the grand final. However, we can only let ten progress.

wiwivision 2015 trailer

Who goes and who stays will be determined by a 50/50 split between readers and the Wiwi Jury. For more details on the voting rules and song selection criteria, click HERE.

You can listen to the 17 semi-finalists below. This isn’t a tv show, so we’ve decided to move away from the producer-led running order favoured by the EBU. The draw is completely random. Obviously, y’all can ignore it and pick and choose who you want to hear first. It’s up to you!

Once you’re ready, vote in our poll. You can vote for as many entries as you like, but you can only vote ONE time. Be sure to check the box next to every entry you want to support before submitting your votes. Voting ends on Monday 29 June and the ten qualifiers will be revealed on Thurday 2 July.

Of course, y’all can do more than just vote. We have a comment box for a reason – what do you think of our choices? Would you have chosen differently? Who would you have picked instead? And how do our choices rate compared to the “real” Eurovision entries? Let us know!

Can’t believe when I saw Tulisa’s pic in the main photo! Love her song ‘young’, only recently discovered it since it wasn’t discovered here in Australia. It’s sad that things went downhill (e.g. drugs and surgery), I hope she can recover, her new sound seems promising. Good choice, Chris!

The large majority of the songs presented in both semi-finals are too similar, designed with the same flavour of indie pop / indietronica.

You chose one of the worst azeri singers. I think one of followings would be fine:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=UDHEX9JfNV4
https://youtube.com/watch?v=1vz1p7MfklE-you know her from ESC 2011
https://youtube.com/watch?v=VLlpF5X67gM
Third one-that handsome guy-a lot of times tried to attend ESC, but was not very successful in national elections(((

On my break at work, to continue listening to this lineup; and I’m absolutely astonished. Icelandic reggae?! They did their homework, no doubt. How long have they been at it?

Stefanie Heinzmann is amazing, I love her latest album. She’s my favourite from this bunch along with Norway and Lithuania. Weak heart, coincendentially, has to be the weakest Zara Larsson song I’ve ever heard.
Overall, much better than semi 1, like in the real contest.
What’s funnier, Icelandic reggae, Macedonian caribbean rythm or Samarinese poor attempt at hard rock?

Norway: DAAAYUMMM! If they had sent this instead of Mørland and Debrah, I think Måns would have been in BIG trouble!

Tulisa’s father is apparently Greek-Cypriot. She has family based in Cyprus too. And believe me, I looked *hard* for some good Cypriot music from non-ESC artists.

Plus, I figure there’s no way in hell that she’d ever do it for the UK but her pride might take enough of a beating that she’d probably go do it for Cyprus some time 😛

@ Eugene
Yes…I was surprised my self tooto see Tulisa being used 4 Cyprus’s choice…I really thought that Tulisa was from Greece instead..
And i believed that Chris was English boy as he lives in England..
Well i guess that he used Tulisa when Greek Cypriots are from Greece so its kinda the same although different..

Okay any love the Czech song is getting is only because its the Czech Republic, if it was anyone else’s in the semi ( baring San Marino and Israel ) then it would be one of the lowest in the semi.

Yes! For once I can have high expectations for our entry ( Ireland ) 😛

In the end this is basically the same as eurovision the only difference is CR and San Marino tend to qualify.

Strong 2nd semi final! Much stronger than the first one in my opinion, though there were some exceptions in the first one.
My votes go to the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Poland, Lithuania and Ireland.
In the first semi I liked Finnland a lot (still probably my overall favourite) but also Estonia, Denmark and Hungary.
