The men of Voltaj will walk on the stage in Vienna wearing suits designed by Florin Dobre. The reputed Romanian designer was also responsible for the outfits worn by the men of Mandinga in 2012.
“It is an honour for me to collaborate with Romania’s representatives at the Eurovision Song Contest. Voltaj is one of the most prestigious bands on the local music scene. The outfits will comply with the current trends. They will be minimalistic, and, from my point of view, they will reflect the song [“De la capat (All Over Again)”] and its social message,” Florin Dobre told the Romanian broadcaster TVR.
Florin Dobre is also one of Cezar Ouatu‘s favourite designers. His symmetrical, clean creations have adorned the front pages of Le Figaro and Le Monde and last year he received the Best International Designer award at Serbia Fashion Week. Most importantly for Eurovision fans, he is known for dressing the boys of Mandinga in Baku back in 2012. Although all the suits were the same (non)colour, all of them had a different cut and different materials.
The men of Voltaj will also be dressed in monochrome outfits, most likely white. The idea of the suitcases which adorned the stage of the national final in Craiova, will likely be transplanted to the Vienna stage as well, and our sources close to the Romanian delegation say that the suitcases will be white as well. The shoes will be designed by Mihaela Glavan, so it will be an all-Romanian affair.
Voltaj were kind enough to send a message to wiwibloggs and our readers:
So nice, can’t wait to see them! <3
Minimalistic outfits, a bland suitcase show, the song is an acquired taste. All in one, a performance to remember.
I would say almost an all-romanian affair: Voltaj will sing in English language the last line of its song.
