When San Marino’s Valentina Monetta warmed up at the London Eurovision Party, her pitch-perfect delivery inspired William and Deban to pull out their cameras. Valentina has long been one of our favourites. But when she started dropping vocal flourishes Mariah Carey-style at London’s Shadow Lounge, she reminded us just how much she has evolved in the past year. She is no longer the keyboard-tapping singer behind “The Social Network.” She is Valentina 2.0—a rising star, our Sammarinese idol and a real contender to win Eurovision 2013.
