After trying our hand bobsledding, the Wiwi Jury – our in-house panel of music unprofessionals – sat down for some hot cocoa and a review of TIMBRE & Frikk Heide-Steen feat. Ida Stein with their song ‘Frozen By Your Love’. Was the song nice as ice or did it freeze anything positive we’d have had to say about it? Read on to find out.

TimbreKatie:

The singers are great. I like their voices. They remind me of John Martin and Krista Siegfrids (a very good combo). This is AMAZING! Oh Goodness me I love this so much, Sebastian Ingrosso eat your heart out! This is the best National Selection song I’ve heard in a long time and will have this on repeat until I watch MGP!

Score: 10/10

Francheska:

Elsa and Anna called, they wants their anthem back. This will without a doubt do well in the club scene (I just heard about silent discos, and I seriously want to attend one while this song is playing), and even though Eurovision is not very club-friendly (see “Igranka”), this has huge commercial potential. I like it, and once it’s made available in the US it will join my workout playlist, but it’s not Eurovision material, sorry.

Score: 7.1/10

Shane:

Potentially a song that could become a clubbing tune around Scandinavia, it’s modern and catchy and has a nice mixture of masculine and feminine vocals.

Score: 7/10

Angus:

How many artists does it take to make a generic piece of electronic club fodder? In this case a lot. This does nothing before me. Dance only does well at Eurovision if it’s quality and rises above the genre and demonstrates something individual. There’s nothing unique to this and I’m fundamentally unimpressed. I hope this rots in the Semi-Final with Dina.

Score: 0/10

Wiwi Jury Verdict: 6.03/10

Stick to your guns, Angus. It would be kind of pointless otherwise.

ESC not club friendly?? um Euphoria tho, and all the songs with dubstep break downs! Igranka has a more hip hop core. This might do very well, but it’s hard to say without seeing them interacting together. And what they sound like live. Not a bad song!

Lol I agree 100% with Angus. This is my least favourite of semi-one.

Wow Angus, this is the second time in a week you’ve given a good song an awful rating, while everybody else gave it decent scores. Really?
