Daniel Diges, the sexier Spanish version of Leo Sayer, is back with a new single “Te llevas mi amor”, the lead track from his third studio album, Quiero.
The ballad discusses love, temperance and eternity. A quick translation of the lyrics show that Diges is singing about tortured emotion. Although you’d never guess that from the video, which is charged with physicality. Diges and his lover don’t seem the least bit conflicted as they enjoy long walks in the sunshine and have fun in the bedroom. All the time, Daniel offers us tantalising glimpses of his oh-so-toned arms, but he’s nothing but a tease – his top never goes above his mop of curls (sob).
And back to the song – whilst the melody isn’t very memorable, the lyrics do touch the heart. “Te llevas mi amor” is definitely a departure in musical style from the nonsensical wackiness of “Algo Pequeñito“, his Spanish Eurovision entry from 2010. That rapidly became a euro-fan favourite and has been covered by many artists, including Anne Marie David recently at the London Eurovision Party. It’s clear that Diges is not a one trick pony (also check out his cover of “Eres Tú”). As well as mastering several musical genres, Diges is an accomplished pianist, actor, and a composer. A multi-talented hunk. His lady-friend in the video is very lucky indeed.
