Looks like the Ice Bucket Challenge has motivated Blue singer Simon Webbe to set his dancing feet on fire, as he has just been confirmed for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing in the UK.

Everyone knows Simon Webbe as one fourth of the British boyband Blue. We also know him as one fourth of the UK Eurovision entry in 2011, finishing 11th with the song ‘I Can’. The Blue singer revealed the news on Good Morning Britain this morning (August 21), making him the fifth confirmed celebrity for this year’s show.

“I am so happy to be joining the team and I cannot wait to get started,” Webbe said.

“I’m hopeful that Strictly Come Dancing will help me to improve on my daddy dancing skills. I want to make my daughter proud and no doubt she will be teaching me a pirouette or two along the way.”

The dance reality show sees some 14 celebrities battling out every week in various styles of dance to finally crown the winning couple, receiving the glittering disco ball trophy.

The 36-year-old joins Thom Evans, Alison Hammond, Judy Murray and Frankie Bridge among the confirmed list of celebrities.

Simon is no stranger to reality shows, having previously participated in ITV’s “I’m a Celebrity…Get me out of Here”. All of us at wiwibloggs wish Simon the best of luck!
