Thunderstruck or Next to you 🙂

Wow! When I first listened to A Monster Like Me I thought it was boring so when I read the comments about people saying how good they thought it was. So I listened to it again thinking “there must have been something I missed in that song” and he’ll yes I did! Wow! It is the winner.

Norway has a really strong selection this year, but I think it’s pretty obviously going to be a three horse race between “Next to you”, “A monster like me” and “Human beings”, although Erland and Raylee may put up a fight just yet.
Personally, I want Karin to win, her song is the first one in nf season so far that has the potential to win Eurovision.
I appreciate that AMLM brings something different to the table, but his vocals annoy me to no end and will probably be awful live.

The UNIQUE and ORIGINAL song of the MGP is without no doubt “A monster like me”. Great voices, great arrangements for the orchestra and great lyrics.10/10

OK, so to me “A Monster Like Me” sounds like a soundtrack for a Disney movie. Enough ballads, please. I mean it’s cute, but come on. Give us some harsh scandinavian electronic, a la Margaret Berger! I think “Next to You” might turn out great on the night, so could “Human Beings”.
I wouldn’t be hugely disappointed if “A Monster Like Me” had won; it’s just too cliche and fake-dramatic for me.

What about Jenny Langlo – “Next to You”? Seems very nice song for ESC

This is essentially a contest between 2 entries: “A Monster Like Me” is a gorgeous power ballad (if this wins, I wonder how this will sound without an orchestra, due to the 6-persons-on-stage limit), and “Human Beings” is an excellent dark and haunting electro-pop number.

Norway, be smart!

At this moment, the bookmakers say that the winner will be:

1. Italy
2. Estonia
3. Norway
4. Australia
5. Finland

Mørland & Debrah Scarlett – “A Monster Like Me is best. On second place for me Karin Park – “Human Beings”
If Norway choose Monter like me and Estonia Goodbye to yesterday, they will be split the votes, and some other countries will win the contest.

I wonder who would vote for “A Monster Like Me” outside Scandinavia? I’m not sure if I even finished that one. It sounded dark and depressive.

The only bad thing about Monster is that it’s going to be up against ballad city and probably head to Vienna and then lose to Opera Skaala after every other country chooses a ballad

For everyone failing with Spotify firstly the vk site works perfectly whereas spotify played every song I didn’t want as if it was taunting me to punch my phone in the face. Monster like me. Im not usually the one to go gaga over songs but…it’s a nice break. It’s a love song and a breakup song which is a departure from the clichés that we normally see on Eurovision such as the aptly named cliché love song. The lyrics are dark but don’t allude to too much so it’s mysterious. The singers are great and sound wonderful together. The… Read more »

Dear Bettan, I liked La Det Swinge, I loved Duett and I have to listen to I Evighet everyday as I still think it should have won in 1996. Your little trip into Melodifestivalen in 2011 with Vaken i En Dröm I can forgive as I liked that song however what on earth is this? I’m not feeling this song and I had high hopes for you. Now, ‘A Monster Like Me’ has to win. It is the best song I’ve heard in MGP in a long time and it has to win on March 14th!!!

“Thunderstruck” is my favourite song. Erlend Bratland should definitely go for Norway.

If “Thunderstruck” sounds like a Melodifestivalen reject, and is clearly a good song, what the hell is happening quality wise in Sweden’s NF then? 🙂

Nevermind, that song is my fave because of them all (11 in total), only that song have stuck on a replay on my MP3 player.

We should change the rules and accept two songs for Norway!! It’s a tie between “A Monster Like Me” and “Human Beings.”
On a side note: Wiwibloggs please try and interview Guy Chambers (the legendary songwriter) an ask him why a song for Norway instead of the UK for Eurovision? Thanks. x

Well, I think “A Monster Like Me” is a bit overrated. There’s orchestra and drama but that’s it, not that it doesn’t sound good or anything, but it doesn’t really say “I’m a great song” to me. My favorite is “Human Beings” as I thought it would be, the song is really well-made, the lyrics are…beautiful, but unexpectedly hopeful-ish coming from Karin Park who has a thing for harsh and daring lyrics. I can also sense a departure from her usual dark indietronica style. Nice songs from Norway overall, may they choose well this year. *raises flag with #TeamKarin on… Read more »

A Monster Like Me seems to blend the classiness of “Rise Like A Phoenix” with The Common Linnets. This could have potential.

I want to like Karin’s song, but can’t help it to think it’s a bit typical.

I now know what I’ll be watching on the 14.03.2015. 🙂 – “Cinderella” sounds great .mp3 wise. I hope that she’ll manage to do it live. Something that Rihanna may sing. – “Thunderstruck” – I’ve expected more, to be honest. The buildup of this song reminds me of Sweden 2013, but considering the same writers team behind, no surprises there. – “Next To You” – nice. Me likey. – “A Monster Like Me” – this is classy. This will be accompanied with the NRK orchestra. It should boost its chances. – “Ta meg tilbake” – interesting mash-up. – “Human beings”… Read more »

I will be happy if either A Monster Like Me or Thunderstruck wins but I prefer A Monster Like Me,it gave me goosebumps, their voices are perfection and the song is very original. I’m sure if Europe loved In A Moment Like This and A Calm After The Storm,it’ll love this one too. Erlend with Thunderstruck is like Tooji looks + Robin Stjernberg’s You,am I right? The lyrics are cliché and it’s a typical pop happy feeling song but I adore its melody. I doubt they will choose it because songs like that can be heard anywhere. The rest is awful.… Read more »

1) Karin Park with “Human Beings” – 10/10 – Absolutely amazing song. The minute I heard Karin was participating I knew her song would be great. Knowing it’s about her partner’s battle with cancer make the lyrics so much sadder yet powerful. 2) Mørland & Debrah Scarlett with “A Monster Like Me” – 10/10 – Beautiful. I love the key change in the bridge and their voices sound so good together. A very epic song, can’t wait to see this live. 3) Ira Konstantinidis with “We Don’t Worry” – 9/10 – I’m kinda embarrassed for liking this one but it’s… Read more »

I saw this thing about predictions of the winner in future years. This was made in 2013 so for 2015 it said the Netherlands (but we already know that won’t happen) or Norway….choose wisely Norway, a blind prediction says you may win….
