Nina Sublatti threw it down during her first rehearsal at Eurovision 2015. She was all feathers and strength as she stood on stage belting out her song “Warrior”. An hour later she caught up with wiwiblogger William Lee Adams to discuss music, fashion, her backing vocalists, her doggy Azaela and revamping her song with legendary Swedish songwriter Thomas G:son.
She says the process of revamping the song was definitely collaborative. “That wasn’t weird because me and Thomas were sending emails all day,” she says “He was like, ‘I like that.’ I was like ‘I don’t!’ I’m happy that we created that together. Now I think it sounds more Eurovision than before.”
Nina only met her backing vocalists yesterday, but so far she is pleased with the results. “I’m really excited because they are great singers,” she says. “‘Warrior’ is a hard song to sing, it can be hard even for me.”
But it isn’t hard for her to be original — she oozes style and edge. “I love to design clothes,” she says. “Sometimes I’m Gothic. Sometimes I’m not pretty. Sometimes I’m pretty.”

Way to go, Nina. Brilliant use of an interview to introduce yourself to people and make them immediately not like you. Thomas G:son turned you from a certain non qualifier to an actual contender. Way to show some gratitude. When I heard he was going to work with you I thought “good luck, ’cause there’s no fixing that cat crying excuse for a song”. But then, Wow! He did. I like the long and the performance. I just don’t like you.
So, she met her backing vocals yesterday, I think that Daniel (Macedonia) rehearsed his choreography for the first time ever on his first rehearsal…any other firsts maybe?
It sounds so amateurish.
Sorry – to avoid arguing, not to argue.
Tough girl. Keep G:son at bay! 🙂
My fascination for Nina is growing day by day.
I love her even more now that I know that she is either insufficiently or much too naïve to argue with Thomas G:son.
Her song was already fantastic on its initial version… Even if it wasn’t remastered it would still be my #1 favorite <3 🙂 I even would had preferred some parts of it to be included on the final visionary song.. <3 I really believe on this GreAtY song..! <3 It has all the potentials to win the Diamond Vision & have all of us gay wild crazy eurofans going to Georgia & Tbilisi next year.. <3 🙂 Now i will be happy if Nina on the first phase alone gets her qualifying ticket 4 the big final <3 🙂 Georgia… Read more »
I like her story of adjusting with all of this. It just shows how good the outcome of Nina and her team’s delivery has become.
