Denmark failed to advance from the Eurovision semi-final on Tuesday for the first time since 2007 and this morning broadcaster DR has begun the task of picking up the pieces

While supportive of Anti-Social Media and stressing that the Danish delegation had worked “really hard” for Vienna 2015, DR’s entertainment manager Jan Lagermand Lundme also acknowledged that changes planned in the past few months will go into effect for 2016.

“They are amazing boys and had a great number,” Lagermand Lundme added. “The Way You Are” finished 13th in Semi-Final 1, just under 30 points short of tenth place qualifier Albania.

Dansk Melodi Grand Prix was held in Aalborg on 7th February and saw 10 acts compete for the Danish ticket for Vienna.

In recent years DMGP has taken the format of a 10-song single evening spectacular so it remains to be seen how DR will change the event for 2016.

While supportive of Anti-Social Media and stressing that the Danish delegation had worked “really hard” for Vienna 2015, –> not sure if they worked hard, but they surely didn’t care this year. I mean they had a song like Suitcase and DR’s jury pushed The Way you Are which is catchy but dated and cliche.

I’m sure they’ll do their best to produce a hit for Sweden’s show, although not a winning song as I am 100% they do not want to win again after Copenhagen’s high budget

Of course the will take iT seriously. Svt are expecting them to produce a winning song. Denmark seems to always win when in Sweden. Just saying.

Lucky all of you eurofans that have managed to attend even at least just once EuroVision live & experience feel this GreAtY moment of watching live with your own eyes the artists/acts performing on stage… Trust me…You really do NOT know how privileged you all are…… If i had the means & my life allowed me to i would attend every Vision each single year! <3 The EuroVision of Malmo that my beloved Denmark won was & remains my #1 most favorite Vision of all time all these years that i am fan & have been watching the Euro Contest… Read more »

I remember myself planning to visit Denmark last year & be inside the stadium…But unfortunately i couldn’t make it for reasons…
I was planing to possibly travel to Vienna 4 this Vision…But for reasons i dropped this too…
Now what..?
We are possibly going to Stockholm now…
I really wish i could make it & be in Friends Arena next May…

I have never watched my beloved Vision live with being inside the arena with the other gay eurofans….
It makes me wonder if i will ever fullfil this GreAtY dream of mine……………………………..

Oh yeah…This scenario is not science fictional..
Can you imagine if Denmark wins again 4 a consecutive third time in row in swedish soil..?? 🙂
Then we will have Copenhagen 2017 <3 🙂 Possibly at the Parken Arena or again in the same arena that hosted the Vision of 2014 <3 🙂

I suppose DR realize that Sweden is hosting and they have a brilliant momentum when the contest is in Sweden. Having won the last two times the contest was hosted in Stockholm and Malmö respectively. It makes me wonder if Denmark will win next year.

If they get it right, Copenhagen 2017 could be calling.

The Danes should consider began having semifinals like it is with Melodifestivalen… When only just 10 songs among the many hundreds are getting selected to see the light of the exposure to the public & us eurofans this means that almost all of the others are getting wasted getting no promotion at all…And its pity because im sure that there must be how many songs in this bunch that deserve to get noticed & get listened by us.. Its not like that in other countries most of the songs that enter to national preselections are lame & not good enough…Even… Read more »

I think Suitcase and Manjana could’ve reached the final.

I think only with song Hotel A , they would some chance to go to final only because song is differnet from others . Suitcase is good song but singer is not so good, and I think they would be out of TOP 10 like Iceland with Maria.
Anna and Maria are not so good singers.

This year’s DMGP kinda had to chose the best from the “so-so”. It’s not the best DMGP ever, but it’s not the worst. I’m happy they will change the format, but perhaps they could also change the selection process of the songs.

Emmelie De Forrest said that she would be interested to return again to our Vision 4 a second time… 🙂
Maybe if the right song is given to her she will consider taking part in this EuroVision of 2016! 🙂 <3

4 the record,Dansk Melodi Grand Prix of Denmark is one of my most favorites NFs in the pre contests season 4 our EuroVision.. <3

I really wonder in which city/town the Danes will gonna host the upcoming following next Grand Prix! <3

I feel Danish in my soul in a way and if such despicable acts like this band got sent to our Vision this will not be enough to erase my (Gay) Love 4 Denmark.. <3

I blame the Danes that when had better songs in Dansk than this one just threw this chance out of the window and it was themselfs that hurt their own chances to qualify.. They should really ‘ve known better… Denmark is one of my favorites countries in the Vision & i was so turned off when this despicable lame band won… With Sweden winning this year after only 3 years then Denmark has chance to win very soon in our Vision the following years.. Even next year…Why not… It would be cool if new countries won in EuroVision but its… Read more »

What a serious attitude. One failure and they react so strong! I wish some other countries could come to a similar conclusion… (e.g. Portugal).

good to see countries like Denmark look more positively towards next year and not blame anyone other than themselves for not qualifying and look to perform better in 2016..
countries such as UK should learn this ..

I had Denmark’s song in my top10 as my 8th-9th most liked song from the 17 songs of the SF though 4 the record.. Well it was not really injustice that Denmark did not qualify to the final this year… They were definitely not robbed as they would possibly like to believe.. The song was just really not good enough honestly… And they finished outside of the top10 on both juries & televoting.. At least others countries that did not qualify managed to finish inside the top10 at least in either televoting or juries.. Mainly everyone claimed that the danish… Read more »

The problem with DMGP this year was that it was clear that they really didn’t want to win the ESC and so they got rid of the superfinal.

DMGP was clearly very lackluster this year and I was disappointed. My faves from the selection, Suitcase and Hotel A should have won but both would have still had trouble qualifying. I’m very interested to see what they plan on doing actually…
